Very nice bakery, I picked up a loaf of their challah bread for French toast, and it turned out great. The bread itself is very good, strudy, dense, with a touch of sweetness. This bread would be great with any choice of butter or jam. They have a good variety of bread, pastries, cookies, and they even have a bread slicer. Next time, I'll have to try a loaf of their wheat bread.

Eva Claire is midtown magic! She works as the cashier and her love of Memphis is contagious. We stopped here to snag some sourdough bread, which she sliced for us. The atmosphere was quirky and cluttered yet charming in its own way.

If you love the smell of freshly baked goodies, this is your place. They have many different kinds of breads, croissants, muffins, banana bread, cookies, breakfast pastries- all sorts of tempting stuff. They bake fresh with good ingredients. Try to visit them in the morning. Otherwise things run out quickly. Don’t miss their savory scone with cheddar and bacon. That’s too good. You will get previous day’s stuff in discounted rate too. Check this incredible place out. It’s near the Kroger grocery on union.

Second-best sourdough bread in town (yes, we don’t have many options, still - this is good if a bit uneven). If you are on the fence about bread with a crust, come on Saturdays between 3 and 4pm for half-price breads, there just may not be any left. If you like classic sandwich bread, talk to them. They sell a soft crust sourdough to local restaurants, so they might add it to their regular offerings. Also, I took one of their focaccia breads to a party - everyone loved it (dipped in a little olive oil or straight up).

Warm, crusty, crunchy breads and pastries filled the air and glass cases. I fell in love with all that freshness! The Pain Au Chocolat was so good...oh my!!!

Sweet little find for breakfast on the way to Graceland! The strawberry challah and the mushroom challah hit the spot, but the real winner was the espresso chocolate chip cookie 😋. There is a seating area to enjoy a simple coffee with a pastry, and an eclectic collection of art and craft art for sale.

Yesterday was my first time in the store. I was specifically looking for sourdough bread, "good" sourdough not the lame loaves in the big stores. I am so happy I found a bakery with bread! I am not a sweets person but love great bread. I bought the rosemary black pepper and it did not disappoint. Breakfast this morning was delicious and I am looking forward to the Mexican Hot Chocolate cookie tonight. Pimento Scone is tomorrow morning's faster bite. I will be back this weekend

Ordered: challah bread, espresso cookie, tart with cotija cheese and poblano peppers. The tart didnt even make it back to the house to heat up it was so delicious. Enjoyed the challah bread to dip with a tomatoey dinner and it was scrumptious!!!!!! Will be buying bread here again

I moved away from Memphis this year but man to I miss these breads. If you look at the price and grimace, just remember Whole Foods and Sprouts sell $7 and $8 loaves of much worse quality.

I think Ginger Bread and Co. makes the best bread I’ve had in years or maybe ever. Worth the money. I go for the sour doughs!

Finally stopped in and got a Peach Scone and Bourbon Pecan Croissant to share with my wife. Both were amazing. We definitely need to stop by again.

I loved this place !! The poblano/queso fresco challah tart was amazing and the chocolate croissant too. So fresh and the owners and bakers are very nice. Can't wait to try more!

Delicious products from a locally owned Midtown bakery! My favorites include the almond croissant, tahini chocolate chip cookies, ginger pear scones and holiday treats!!

Great stop for pastries and amazing bread! Gluten free options as well! They also had Passover items that you can order. Friendly staff as well....if you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop!!!

Very highly recommend. The croissant and pain au chocolat were amazing. The challah was great and I can't wait to make french toast with it. However, my highlight was the molasses cookie. I'm picky about them and these were easily some of the best I've ever had.

I took a little detour off the interstate while passing through Memphis today, I specifically wanted to find a scone. I google searched bakeries and found the ginger’s bread & co. with a review that mentioned their scones. That was enough for me lol and I was not disappointed! I got a ginger pear scone and I can’t even tell you how delicious! The ginger taste was there, but not overpowering and you could taste the pears in a nicely sugared crust on the outside and tender inside. Chefs kiss!

The blueberry muffins were the best I’ve ever had. Hands down. The bourbon pecan croissant was off the charts awesome as well. Great customer service as well. The man I spoke to, Eric, was very friendly and knew his stuff. Anyway, in case the profuse praise hasn’t made it clear, I love this place.
