This is a pretty special place. Squirrels, rabbits, butterflies, frogs, dragonflies, deer, and lots and lots of birds... And that's all right outside your door. There are a large number of waterfalls, hiking, caves, and other nature excursions all within comfortable driving distance.

This was the place we stayed after our wedding for a mini honeymoon. I have to say it was absolutely the best by far!!! So quiet and peaceful, beautiful and very accommodating. They were very helpful and answered any questions we had immediately! The cabin was VERY clean and cozy! Will definitely be back again hopefully sooner than later!

Great setting for peace and relaxation. We enjoyed walking the drive in the mornings and evenings with a visit from a resident rabbit each time. The location is ideal for visiting Falls Creek Falls State Park. It is just down the road. Bring your hiking boots, there are nice hikes to the waterfalls and creeks in the park. If we would have had our road bicycles with us, we definitely would have taken advantage of the nice roads in the area for road cycling.

I recently stayed at the Hemlock cabin at Piney Creek. My hubby and I love hiking. Fall Creek Falls had no cabins or campsites available. I found this cabin as being close to Fall Creek Falls and decided to stay here.

The cabin was clean. It had a fully stocked kitchen. All utensils were there. Any time of bakeware or cookware was there. Had a good coffeemaker. The beds were comfy. Loved the quilts were perfect.

One selling point was the hot tub. It was perfect for us to kick back and relax.

All instructions for the hot tub were there and easy to follow. There were photos for removing the cover which were super helpful.

I would stay here again. I would recommend to friends and family to stay here. Felt like I was staying in my grandparents cabin and it made me feel so safe and cozy.

Great place to get away from every day life and just enjoy nature’s beauty and peace and quiet. We just loved the quiet and watching the different varieties of birds you see. The falls are beautiful and a must see if you haven’t yet. Kent and Pam keep you posted on bad weather so you can prepare accordingly. We thought that was a plus. We will be going back.

We were very happy to see the cabin was very clean, and not too close to other cabins. We enjoyed the special things, like nice dinnerware, pretty pictures on walls, bedspread with blue birds on it, (I love birds!), the gas fireplace, furnishings, everything was perfect. The porch had 2 rocking chairs and a small side table on it, which we used quite a bit. Humming bird feeder on the end of porch, and a bird feeder a few feet away were perfect. We saw several kinds of birds, It was so peaceful and relaxing. And, the cabin is close to many state parks, so we got to explore waterfalls and streams, which I also love. Thank you for making our trip worthwhile! I want to come back and live there!!

We loved this cabin! The cabin was very cozy and quaint. It was perfect for three ladies to escape for a girls trip. We enjoyed walking down to the lake each morning, and enjoyed the natural beauty of our surroundings. The cabin was stocked with items that allowed us to eat our meals in. Very clean and enjoyable!

My husband and I just spent a few days in the Hemlock cabin and it couldn't have been better. The setting is beautiful and the cabin is great. It was perfectly decorated -- authentic, comfortable and tasteful. There are bird feeders around the cabin, and, after a long days hike at Fall Creek Falls State Park, we enjoyed just sitting on the porch and watching the birds and listening to all of the really cool wildlife sounds as the day turned to night.

The location was ideal. It was easy to get to the Park as well as to Spencer to buy some groceries and go to dinner. We also visited Cumberland Caverns -- an unexpected day trip that we ended up loving -- and Rock Island State Park, all relatively close by.

We definitely look forward to going back at different times of the year to see how the forest and the setting changes. I imagine Fall is pretty spectacular.

Staying at the Piney Creek Cabins was wonderful! The hosts were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire booking process. They provided information on the area and answered all my questions. They offered to be available during the stay, but we were so well prepped that it wasn’t needed.

The cabin was clean and cozy. It felt private and had the basic necessities. I would recommend staying here if you are wanting to feel like you want a simple, yet comfortable/enjoyable experience.

What a great cabin! I can’t say enough about this quaint property. Just driving up to it made me super happy with all of the bird feeders, flowers, and so much more that made it unique. The cabin itself was super clean with a well-equipped kitchen, tons of hot water (if you’ve ever been to a cabin without plenty of hot water you’ll understand why I mention this), a deck and fire pit, cozy porch for bird watching over your morning coffee or nightcap, picnic table for enjoying whatever you’ve thrown on the grill beside it, trails only steps from the door, and just down the road from Fall Creek Falls state park. There are more amenities than I’ve mentioned too. I had great communication with the owners and they responded in a very timely manner to messages. Pat and Kent couldn’t be nicer. I will definitely be back!

Tad and Sylvia are great hosts! Sylvia gave me a call and sent an email ahead of time so we would have all the directions we would need. When you turn down the little gravel road there is a small office cabin, the larger cabin is off to the right on it's own and the 2 single room cabins are on down the left. It feels like a private area with it's own walking paths and pond.
We wanted privacy and we got just enough. The cabins are set very nicely in the wooded areas and you never feel like you are close to the road. The single size cabins are closer than I thought to each other but they did a great job and making them feel private. There is a small tree line between them. I love that each cabin has it's own picnic area and fire pit! There is some beautiful scenery when you walk past the pond. The cabins are cleaned and stocked with the basics. You will want to grab your own firewood, food/condiments, and maybe paper towels but they provide everything you would need down to the coffee maker and magazines. They are less than 5 min. from the S. entrance to Fall Creek Falls park. There are other cabins down the road but they seemed more crowded. We had a wonderful, quiet weekend away and will be heading back soon.

Very cozy, relaxing and super fun. Close to Burgess falls and Fall Creek falls for hiking. Loved hot tub and fire for marshmallows. Needed to stay a month to capture all that fun.
So wonderful that the property is National Wildlife Certified - so many birds and lots of wildlife. The pond was very relaxing.

How I treasure the memory of my stay. Entering the cabin, I felt instantly different. Hours before my arrival, I had completed a major project at work and was celebrating the end of it by getting away from it all. I hurriedly unpacked, sank into the bed and felt the cabin and surrounding mountains granting me permission to relax. I slept a few hours, got up to eat some food I’d packed, and slept some more—twelve hours straight, in fact! Such a tranquil spot.

The next day I did venture out to see waterfalls and hike a bit. I completed a portion of a challenging outdoor adventure course. I drove passed horses in a field and made a mental note that I would like to do some riding the next time I come to stay. I look forward to making these cabins a regular retreat from the hectic and the demanding.

I had the privilege of visiting with Pam and Kent on the property. I fell just as in love with them as I did their cabins! They are wonderfully responsive and terrifically respectful. The few questions I had, they were able to answer. They provided great service.

I’m already planning my next trip! Just thinking about it, I feel peaceful.

What a beautiful place to stay! The Hemlock cabin had plenty of space and was very nice. We loved sitting by the pond and using the fire pit to have a fire when it got cooler in the evening. The property as a whole was beautiful as well and we loved meeting Miss Sylvia. We will definitely be back!

Henry David Thoreau knew truth - "Our life is frittered away by detail... simplify, simplify." Piney Creek Cabins is THE place to unwind and rewind. Especially in 2020, getting away - safely - can help your physical and mental health and I can't think of a better place! Surrounded by sounds - leaves, trees, wind, birds you can center and be. Get in the car and just be - at Piney Creek Cabins.

This little cabin - with the amenities, the location, the property, the cleanliness, and the hosts - is perfection! I wish everywhere we stayed on getaways were exactly like this one!! It lacked nothing. And one day, we hope to be back!

Great place to stay. Remodeled and clean. A certified bird sanctuary. Plenty of wonderful Mennonite shops to explore. Right up the road is the new visitor center for the falls!
