Hacienda El Rey Waxhaw

The whole experience was AWESOME. Everything from the plate ware, the service, the seating, and the presentation was tops. Among my top 3 experiences at a Mexican restaurant. They even had an adorable robot that delivers your food to the table so the server can easily disperse hot plates to each person safely. My kids loved that! And the food was so well plated. You can tell the kitchen didn’t just slop it on the plates. Everything was carefully placed on the plates with intention. It looked wonderful. The portions were plentiful, not skimpy and everything was delicious. Lupe, the manager stopped by our table several times to check on us and made friends with our 2 year old. Our drinks stayed full, requests were met promptly and the music wasn’t too loud. Every staff member was ready to engage and was KIND. Our new fave Mexican spot!

My boyfriend works nearby so he comes here all the time with his colleagues. I met him for dinner last night we got horchatas and plenty of food. It was very good! Our server, didn’t catch his name. Maybe a man in his 40s, he was training somebody. He was very attentive and sweet. The robot situation is interesting and adds to the experience. Will be back

If I could give more than five stars, I would! I throughly enjoyed my Tuesday getting lunch from here. My order was the fried chimichanga. I really loved the beef and how it tasted marvelous with the cheese sauce, guacamole, and bean paste. The diced tomato was fresh!

My husband got the Speedy Gonzales, which was a plate of beef enchiladas and a crunchy taco (corn tortilla shell). He devoured the whole plate!

Last but not least, we had Mai Tai and it was super nice. I want to come back to try the many different flavors of Margarita next.

Side note: the music indoor was great and I also liked the decorations. The server/waiteress was very attentive. Also, the spicy salsa was yummy.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. Our server, Victor was AMAZING! Took very good care of us! Great Waiter! And Lupe, my favorite girl and Manager ever. Love her to pieces. So friendly, caring and amazing. She definitely goes above, beyond and more to take care of her patrons!

1st off kudos to the manager Nellie, she's a total boss in the best way! She walked around to make sure every table was taken care of. Please be patient with service staff especially on Taco Tuesday.... they are all very sweet and helpful just a tad busy so you may have to wait a little longer than normal. Food was excellent and our server was also attentive. If he wasn't available Nellie or another server helped out. Thanks guys!

Had Stephanie as our waitress, she was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu. If you go to Hacienda El Rey make sure to ask for Stephanie! Also, has a super cool side-room with a photo op

Their salsa verde was without a doubt the best we've ever had, ever. Been to Mexico, California, etc... the best. Just look at the picture. We live in Indian Trail but will be back soon!

I had lunch at Hacienda El Ray in Waxhaw for the first time. It is a really good Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are very tasty as well as the margaritas. I tried the soft tacos and they were excellent. The service is very good too. I plan to come back soon.

Had delicious dishes hacienda special, steak burrito, fajitas carnita and desserts. This cozy restaurant has been our Mexican favorite restaurant for the last 3 years.

My family has been going to El Rey in Waxhaw for over a year now and it’s one of our favorite restaurants. This place is special. The people working there are spectacular and the food is really good for a decent price.

We have had many waiters and waitresses here and they are all consistently awesome! Always smiles and “my pleasures” from the host/hostess and wait staff. The manager (owner?) checks on us at least once every time we go. They take pride in their restaurant and customer service and it shows. I truly feel like they care about our experience.

Finally, the food is really great! I highly recommend the fresh guacamole and burrito verdes, outstanding!

Hacienda El Rey is the best Mexican restaurant in Waxhaw, by far. We have been going for years, and I can honestly say that we have always had a great experience. Get the shrimp Diablo if you like spicy food. Tacos are great also. Victor is a great waiter, and Lupe is a fantastic manager. Everyone who works there is so kind and friendly. You need to check this place out for a great Mexican food experience!

We absolutely love this place! Awesome food and great atmosphere. The manager is beyond accommodating and my toddler fell in love with her. You are treated like family in this establishment! The homemade pineapple margarita is amazing! Best Mexican food in Union County, hands down. ❤

This is where I go for Mexican food in Waxhaw. This place has polite servers, good food and a good atmosphere. I always have to get a box because they give you so much food. I recommend the arozo con pollo.
