My family and I have spent the past 4 months at the campground. We have had a wonderful experience. The staff has been so helpful and supportive. The facilities are clean and well kept. The grounds are expertly groomed weekly. Overall this has been a pleasant, fun filled experience! I will definitely be coming back next year!!

I have been camping here since the early 80s with my family. Now I have a wife and son and all my sisters, brother, parents, and children still love spending 3 to 5 days here. Creeks, fishing, woods, and trails to explore on foot or bike. Clean showers and bathrooms. A playground, pool, grocery store, arcade, mini golf, entertainment & activities. Staff are always friendly and helpful. They don’t tolerate idiots who can’t understand how to follow rules. This is camping. All you miserable yuppies complaining about curfews, pit bulls, bugs, rules, and wifi access should stay home.

Playground was super cool, the sound of the creek at night with a campfire beyond measure. Bathhouse was clean with plenty of hot water for my 3 kids to shower two 2 year olds & a 1 y/o and myself to shower after them. We came in on a Wednesday and checked out on the following Monday it was neat to see how it filled up for the weekend and cleared out by Sunday evening.
We didn't hang out in the camper much on this trip it was more for the mountains and Tweetsie Railroad but on Friday & Saturday night the had Bingo and corn hole in the pavilion. Our site was C-9 outside had wifi so if that some you require trying booking in the B area and you should be fine. We will be back for sure.

Had a great stay at Steele Creek, the staff were really friendly and helpful, especially with advice for things to do around the area. The creek was very peaceful and refreshing, the kids were having a blast playing in it. We loved having a campsite right on the water and how the campsites are arranged. The bathrooms could use an update but were clean and taken care of. We will definitely be coming again soon!

We were late getting into Pisgah National forest on Saturday evening 9/17/22 and worried about finding an open campground for a spot. The first search showed Steel creek and we gave them a phone call. Scott the owner was very very accommodating and stayed in the office waiting for us to arrive! He took care of all the check in process and immediately put us in a creekside spot with full hookups. Even helping us get backed in and made sure we were set up correctly! I have stayed at many campground, but Scott was extremely polite and if you get the chance ask him about some of his other chapters in his life he’s got some cool stories! We will be staying again here very soon knowing what we do now.
Everything was very well kept and clean, even though the park was full for a fall weekend it was calm and relaxing. We awoke to a beautiful view of the river just feet from our front door. If your in the area this should definitely be a place to keep in your pocket, and it’s just a few short miles to some fantastic hiking off the forest service roads.

They have full shower and bath houses. A small cantina, playground, swimming pool and a beach area to swim in the river. Bring your pets, bring a golf cart or a bicycle and make sure to check out the surrounding forestry.

First time staying at Steele Creek Park & Family Campground and it will not be the last. The campground seems to be older but well kept and clean. A brand new playground was just added for the kids across from the beach area which was great. Everyone that we met was very friendly whether they were an annual resident or a nightly guest and Aaron that directed us to our site was great. For anyone that has not stayed here, we did not find cell service in the area until we got close to the Neighborhood Market about 15 minutes down from the campground. Wifi is spotty but decent at the camp store. Thanks for a great time, we will be back.

We spent the Holiday weekend camping at Steele Creek. While it is true there is no WiFi, who cares?!? Plenty of creek to play in, a pool (not huge but big enough), a swim beach, fishing, and gold panning are more than enough! A swing set and arcade are near the camp store which saved us from cooking on arrival day by selling warm yummy pizza. My son loved the mini golf ($3 a game is not bad price) and the ride on the terrainable (?) train. We did have enough of a cell signal that our son was able to watch his nightly episode of Henry Danger and we did get some channels with our antenna. Staff was awesome and not only guided us to our spot but helped us get into it! A big bonus for us as this is only our third trip with our camper - we are newbies! Overall I found the price comparable to some other places we looked at. There were plenty of activities to keep you entertained if that was your goal.
A few words of caution though, golf carts are allowed and it’s a big campground so there is some vehicle traffic as it’s too big to walk if you need to run from the outer edges to the camp store for food or something you forgot. Lots of kids on bike as well but that made me smile as I was happy to see kids out and about and not buried in a screen! We’ve already booked another trip with plans for at least one more!

Grew up going here! Even with the slide gone and high dive gone I think this past weekend was one of the best camping trips my family has ever had.

I love steel creek because it is one of the few camp grounds that has a creek and you get back up to it and enjoy the water. Sit in it in a beach chair or whatever. Never had issue with anyone there. We go to just sit and relax. Park the truck and camper and don't leave until it's time to go home.

This place was amazing. First, you can't go wrong the price. In addition, the camping fee and what it covers is plenty of fun you don't even need to spend money on the extras, but even those are affordable and fun. My whole family had a blast and the management goes above and beyond. We can't wait to go back. And next time, I'm going on that slide and daddy can watch the baby.

Excellent rv and tent campground.

Very friendly staff and neighbors. Convenient location; close to Linville falls/gorge/trails, close enough to Morganton to get/do anything you may want or need. Streams running through the site (though I did not see any fish in any of it in late Oct). Decent bit of bugs but if this isn't your first rodeo then you know how to deal with that.

No cell service (even Verizon), though at the central shelter there is good WiFi.

We were camping closeby and stumbled upon Steele Creek and immediately changed plans and camped there instead! Even just from driving by we could tell that spending time at Steele Creek was going to be a blast and it lived up to it! Between a great array of campsites for a reasonable price to great people and the lovely creek to sit in, we had a peaceful, fun filled time and will be back soon!

Love this place. Camped here several times over the years and this year, with the 'rona and all, decided to stay for the summer and we're so glad we did. We enjoy make new friends with the permanent owners and it's a blast to be able to ride up on Friday evening and have your camper all set up and ready to go. The park is beautiful and the creeks and pool are just want you need on a hot day. The glow of the campfires along with the smells of everyone's dinner is very inviting in the evening after a day of play and the golf cart parades are memorable.

Excellent campground. The staff is super nice and helpful and they keep a really clean campground. I highly recommend this campground to anyone who wants a fun, safe family campground. Unfortunately the waterslide and diving boards are now gone but there will be new activities to enjoy before much longer. Make sure you reserve your camping spot early because they will be filling up in no time. Steele Creek is the best campground in the area you guys must check it out!
