Mountain Mike’s Whetstone Woodworks

Picked up some more pieces at the Valdese Waldensian Festival. I bought a couple pieces a few years ago from his web site. He was out of stock on one of the pieces so he made one to complete the order. Great customer service! Beautiful work. It is amazing that Mountain Mike can do his art with a chainsaw. Talent! His wife Dena is very nice and sweet.

Just brought a chainsaw carved bear from Mountain Mike. We have 2 others from other artists from Illinois. I must say the level of detail Mike provides is unmatched. We happen to stumble across his shop while visiting the Smoky Mountains on our anniversary. Thank you Mountain Mike for adding to our collection, and our vacation

We purchased a black bear and a moose to take back to Florida. They are so very nice here. Mike came in and loaded them up.

Tianna was Awesome!! Yes we purchased some Ginches. They sent us to the perfect places to go Christmas Shopping and helped load up our Grinches. Highly recommended. Ya'll need some Harley carving's for me...

Take the time to visit Mountain Mike's showroom. The man is an incredible artist with attention to detail that is amazing. I work with wood and understand it is a live moving thing, and its expansion and contraction due to moisture and temperature has to be accounted for , what he does is nothing short of brilliant.

Hello Mountain Mike, is the real deal and he is one of the very best Woodsmen Artists this East side of the Mississippi River that I have ever seen. As a Veteran myself and as well as Mountain Mike is a Veteran. He is a man of a handshake, integrity and a very hard working man and is a beloved family man as well. I have known Mountain Mike for about 12 years and have purchased some very awesome things that I truly enjoy today. Here is a few pictures of the Bear tree he did for us earlier in the year to satisfy our Grand children dreams at our house. I most strongly recommend him for any job or tasks and I guarantee to you that you will not be disappointed and you will want other projects to be accomplished! S.I.P!!

Mike's work is unbelievable! I asked Mike if he could make a fireman for my hubby (Terry - for some reason my Google is showing his name!) Terry is a retired Houston firefighter and had seen some of Mike's work on fb. He mentioned he love to have a fireman if we ever saw one. I contacted Mike and he was very willing to do one! With just a picture of hubby's helmet and one of the crew in gear - Mike came up with a most amazing design! The final product is such an amazingly wonderful piece of art! Mountain Mike...one super talented artist! Thank you for our incredible art piece!

Mike’s work is absolutely amazing. I got a hanging cub for my porch post not long ago, and yesterday I picked up one that will hang from my porch railing. It was my 40th birthday present, and I’m so glad he had the time to carve it just in time for my birthday. I can’t wait to hang both of these guys together. Mike’s wife is also very friendly and informative. She’s great at handling the business while he’s busy putting out the pieces.

Awesome place to look around, get one-of-kind pieces, and pick up a Slab or two for a diy. I purchased a box elder slab from Mike to make a coffee table. He was so helpful and gave me tips on what to do with this awesome piece of wood. Thanks for your help, Mike!
