This location is everything. I’m from out of state. Going to this town was the best experience. Gave me rustic artsy vibes and I’m all for it. The gallery made it so much better. My boyfriend and I are art people and all the art there was great and different. I definitely recommend it. Also head over to the coke bar and get an old fashion malt.

This is a free local art gallery that deserves to be much more popular. The historical milkshake maker is the main attraction but the art is why you should be visiting. You find a main level and basement filled with photographs, water color, and digital art. Sometimes the artists will even be there to discuss their work. You can stay as long as you'd like to fully appreciate the galleries.

This is a gem… History art architecture and more. I’m so glad it has been preserved. I just wished the lunch counter would’ve been open when I was there.

I love the combination of local art and an old fashioned ice cream parlor! The treats are tasty and the food is yum!! Almost every kind of art you could be looking for is there to view and purchase! I'm a frequent visitor of this place!

A very big collection of local artists. We spent 3 hours choosing affordable art. Had so much fun eating lunch at an original Woolworth's counter. Will be back!

I was giving visiting friends a tour of our beloved city, when one of them found the galleries in the old Woolworth's building. I hadn't been in there before, but was pleasantly surprised by not just the quality of many artist's works, but also the prices, which I found to be reasonable. Both the main floor and basement have been turned into small display areas for (maybe 150 local artists). My fave display was the HD with a wooden gas tank and fenders. It was Beautiful. Of course it can't be ridden like that, but all that chrome and polished wood was a nice homage to murdersickle riders everywhere. There is also an old fashion ice cream shop on the first floor.

A friend and I walked into this space without any expectations or ideas, and spent nearly two hours exploring the diverse array of incredible talent available in this space. Walking through these displays of talent and creative expression was time well spent! It was beautiful, entertaining, educational, and even inspirational. If you enjoy art and want to see a sampling of works by local/regional creators, if you simply appreciate seeing used of various forms and mediums, or if you are looking for a piece to transform a space, this place is brimming with treasures.

We enjoyed walking around and viewing the artwork. My kids were entertained and enjoyed the ice cream. The milkshakes were also delicious.

The five stars are for the soda counter inside. The root beer floats are really good and they have Mexican coke! As for the rest, this is an art gallery where you purchase artwork. Not a shopping center like we thought. Some good artwork though, just out of my price range.

Love this love this unsuspecting art gallery/store in the middle of the downtown Asheville. With perhaps 100 artists represented, this was a great way to spend an hour. Paintings, Metal art, sculptures and jewelers are all represented. You can even pick up a quick bite or beverage at the early 1900s style soda counter inside. Be sure to visit the downstairs as well. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. This is also a great place to spend some time while on the waitlist for Chai Pani which is right around the corner.

Wasn’t sure what to expect here and was happily surprised. It reminds me of the antique mall setups with small booths but it’s art! I wanted to buy something from probably half of the booths and had a hard time making decisions. Go support small artists here!

The nostalgic Woolworth Lunch Counter is a fantastic place to sit down and order a bite to eat and an ice cream treat!

There are artist works displayed both in the first and basement levels of the venue.

Gifts and art you can’t find at your local Target. We were in town for just a few hours and had dinner and walked to explore when we stumbled upon this very cool concept. I have some fond memories of Woolworth’s as a kid so it was a bit nostalgic. Check out my pics!

Being of an age where I remember my mother shopping at Woolworth's, it was a real treat to enjoy a banana split there today! The gallery of local artists' works is an excellent way to preserve this little piece of history!

Great little gallery. It's in an old Woolworth Store and they kept the Soda Stand! Very cute. We didn't eat there but we sure would next time.

Check out the Wooden Motorcycle!
