Clayton Plaza Hotel

In general, I would give the hotel a 4 star review, but it deserves 5 stars because of the convenient location close to the city and to Wash U, and because of the relatively low price.

Good amenities, the building in generally in good condition, the staff is professional and helpful. There's a nice pool and gym.

The room is up to date and even beyond, with fancy electronic controls of the shower. Good sleep quality, nice and quiet.

Also good breakfast, although the lines are long on a weekend morning.

There's no intercom between the garage and the sky bridge to the hotel. If you don't have the room key- you have to walk downstairs and outside all around the block.

Considering the location and price, this hotel is a very good option for visitors !

One of the best places we have stayed. The breakfast was great, something for everyone. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and a blessing after a long, hot day. The game room was a bonus for families with little kids. We have no complaints at all. Look forward to staying again after we retire

Very pleasant experience. Very fanciful looking hotel with very convenient amenities. The view from my window was awesome. The location was perfect and not difficult to find. Only a few glitches, but overall, I'd still recommend this hotel. It's a 9/10 for me. 😊

The hotel is by far one of the most well ran that we have ever stayed at. We have stayed in every type of room and have never been disappointed with anything. The rooms are nicely appointed. The service is impeccable, and the location is so nice because it is centrally located in the metro area. The indoor/outdoor pool is just what we love, and the free game room is a great surprise. The exercise room has everything we wanted. The parking is so easy as well. All guests get a free breakfast, and the amenities are so good. It's our preferred place to stay when we are in St. Louis.

This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at. The hospitality, cleanliness, and service were top notch, not to mention the vibes and energy everyone had each day were dope! The rooms were very nice, up-to-date with an awesome glass, walk-in shower! The bed was super comfy! The pool is half indoor, half outdoor, super cool for kids. They have a free arcade, another awesome perk for a family oriented activity. Can’t forget the dry sauna (that is very well maintained) and workout room. The parking garage was free Friday and Saturday night. Really the best part of the hotel, is Keba she works in the restaurant where the serve breakfast (a delicious COMPLIMENTARY breakfast), she starts your day off with an amazing welcome! You’ll be glad to have met her, once you do! Will definitely be staying at Clayton Plaza Hotel every time we visit St. Louis!

Enjoyed my stay for a two day conference at Wash U. While this is an older hotel, the rooms have a modern feel (including a digital controller for the shower on/off and water temperature).

The bed was comfortable with ample pillows of differing softness. The room and bathroom was clean at checkin.

The room feels included a full breakfast from the in hotel restaurant. This feature and benefit was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. The breakfast buffet offering was one of the best I have visited. I especially liked the made to order eggs (omelets, fried, scrambled, etc.) and waffles.

This is one of the nicest hotels for the price I've ever stayed at. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I called for more towels and within 10 minutes a nice man named David had them brought up. David was particularly nice, upon parking the car and coming in, we couldn't fine the room and he sent us in the right direction telling us "anything you need just call and I'll have it for you." The breakfast was great. However, the restaurant is only open for breakfast. The location is very convenient for our trip and in a very nice area. Pool was heated inside and outside. Very great stay and already planning when we come back to stay here again.

I love this hotel! The spacious, super clean rooms. Huge sparkling clean bathroom with a huge fancy tub. The air ventilation is the best. Hotels can feel stuffy. Not this place. Staff was just wonderful. Can’t find a better location. The hotel is accessible to all the best restaurants here in Clayton. Sure, it could use a few updates in the workout room but that pales to all the positives available. I am very impressed. Garage makes it easy to access the hotel. I highly recommend. A-++++

I had an amazing experience staying at the Clayton Plaza Hotel and it was all thanks to Tarina! She went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment I arrived, she greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel right at home. Tarina was always attentive to my needs and was quick to offer recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious, the amenities were top-notch, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I can't thank Tarina enough for her exceptional hospitality and I highly recommend staying at the Clayton Plaza Hotel. Five stars all the way!

This is my 5th time staying. I am a WashU student parent and this hotel is highly recommended because of its staff, location, value/rates, breakfast and Great SHOWER. Honestly the most amazing place to take a break after a very busy day with the kids on campus.

This is our second experience staying at this hotel. Both stays have provided great rooms as well as parking in a private deck and an amazing indoor outdoor pool. There are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We will definitely be back.

The staff here are so professional and friendly! The pool is so warm, which is not always the case in heated indoor/outdoor pools. The breakfast staff are all very attentive and make early mornings very pleasant. I left with a smile every morning. Beds are comfortable and the shower is amazing!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. The front desk staff was extremely professional and friendly. We were confused about the parking, and they explained it very well to us.
The room was very clean and smelled wonderfully. I have no slept that well in a long time. The air conditioning worked like a charm. The shower was easy to use and get to a comfortable setting. It had a setup to set the water temperature. The "selfie" mirror was a nice surprise.
I could have spent all night in the pool. Heated, no strong small of chlorine, and it went outside. The game room area I think needs to be implemented at more hotels. That is a brilliant idea for families.
Breakfast was good. They had all the normal things on a hotel breakfast buffet except everything was good. I did miss out on the made to order omelets but that is completely understandable.
Going down the check-out there was a super friendly gentleman. I believe he may have been a houseman or possibly banquets. His personality shined brightly. It was a very brief encounter, but his positive demeanor deserves attention. It would have been Wednesday at check-out time.
Front Desk Check-out was nice as well. She ensured that our parking was taken care of correctly.
Overall, this hotel is great and well worth the time and cost. The staff is what you should encounter in the hospitality business. Friendly, approachable and positive. Would stay again.

Great breakfast! Selection of hot and cold items is diverse. The made to order omelette was excellent. Condiment choices are many. There's something for everyone's taste.
The king, jetted tub room was huge. Included separate shower stall, shower/ tub combo, and a jetted tub to accommodate whatever method suits you for bathing.
Work table and chair. Sitting table and two chairs. Love seat and lounge chair. Plenty of closet and dresser space for an extended stay. Very comfortable room.
No complaints here. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay again.

Edit: We extended our stay in St. Louis by two nights. Different room, same results. Great service, and the breakfast is the best I've experienced in any hotel.
More than reasonable prices. I highly recommend staying here.

We’ve stayed at Clayton Plaza a few times and are always pleased. It is a terrific location and the property is clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is delicious , and the staff in the restaurant is fantastic. They are friendly, energetic and accommodating.

The hotel staff at the front desk and at the restaurant were extremely professional and friendly. The room was clean and provided all necessary accommodations. The free continental breakfast was the most elaborate and tasty that I've experienced at a hotel. There was a large, hot buffet with a separate section where a cook made omelets and waffles. There was also a cold food section with the typical cereal, yogurt, and fruit. So many yummy choices! We had a great experience at this hotel. The stay was certainly worth the price.

Everything about our stay was perfect! I would recommend this hotel to all of my family and friends. The breakfast was a CRAZY FREEE buffet! Keba who works in the breakfast area was the main attraction, 10/10 would recommend going to meet her! The omelette and waffle station was to die for! Beds were extremely comfy, Rooms were clean, updated, and had everything you could need! This will be our spot when visiting St. Louis.

My daughter and I try to get out of the house every few months for a girls night. This has been our go to Hotel for the past three years! It’s extremely clean and the front desk ladies are always so sweet. Not to mention the pool is actually heated ( my kiddos favorite part lol) they have a game room and a sauna too. I highly recommend Clayton Plaza to anyone coming in town or just a small get away.

Fair price, Great buffet breakfast with made to order eggs and omelets. The rooms are large and spacious, big enough for all your travel gear (ie pack&play, mobility scooter ect) or just have a picnic on the floor. Baths had a hightech faucet that allowed you to set your watter temp (great for kidddos). Housekeeping was good but felt like maintenance could use a little more detail (misaligned wall paper patch). Second stay and we will be back for more St. Louis adventures

This is a great hotel! All of the employees have been very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is included with your stay and the buffet is large plus an omelette bar! Would stay here again
