The Navy Gateway Inn here is very nice. It's a great place and an affordable option for visiting the city. Its a bit of a drive to Downtown NOLA but worth it if you plan correctly.

They have that steak and lobster tail in the dining facility. It's a whole lot better than the army base.

Was wondering does this base allow active duty navy to serve upon it? This would definitely be a good place for my next pick. Actually have family in Baton Rouge and Shreveport. Thank you for any response

Pretty quiet base, nice housing on base, and one of the if not the best schools in Louisiana. The Exchange and Commissary is small yet nice.
