Market Street Public House

I've eaten here many times - not sure why I didn't leave a review before now...
This is the kind of warm, inviting establishment that naturally lends itself to returning to again and again.
If you're looking for a 10-page menu that constantly changes, this isn't really that place (but those folks will still find something great to eat here!). This is the place that has a basic core menu that pretty much remains the same, but that's a *good* thing, because you can count on them having that favorite every time you want it - and it will *always* be good. I've never had a less-than-great meal here.
If you are travelling through Denton, or visiting friends here, this is where you want to go for lunch or dinner (or just drinks).
Today I visited with a friend, and we started with the Crabby Pretzel - the pretzel was essentially the size and shape of a small baguette, and topped *generously* with crab dip, sprinkled with old bay. It was even better than it looked.
I ordered the Reuben with fries for my entrée - the only critique I have is the bread could be a little bigger - the generous meat and filling needed just a little more "coverage," in my opinion. But the sandwich was awesome - bite led to bite. The fries are a long, thin-cut fry, and for me they go great with a little salt and malt vinegar (which they always keep available).
My friend - a former bartender - ordered a tea w/ whiskey. They explained ahead that it would be a bagged tea. He was really impressed and said it was delicious, a perfect ratio of tea/whiskey.
He also ordered the Seafood Smorgasbord, which featured battered cod, fried oysters, and jumbo shrimp on a bed of fries. He was very pleased with it. He let me try a fried oyster - which I hadn't had before - and it was really good.
Today was unseasonably warm and so we sat outside and enjoyed conversation along with the fantastic meal.
The service is always polite, friendly, and courteous yet still down-to-earth (read: not pretentious). This is the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and I personally wouldn't have it any other way.
Reviews are for the unfamiliar, not for folks who already know a place well - with that in mind, welcome to your new "home away from home." I don't think you could possibly be disappointed. Great hearty food fare in a rustic, cozy setting, with a bar pretty much unmatched in the area.

The wife and I stumbled upon this wonderful pub quite by accident during one of our early dates several years ago, and it's always a pleasure to return. We'd be regulars if we lived closer. The food is excellent, and there is always a good selection of beers on tap. (Of course, we always have to get at least one Guinness.) The decor, including an impressive collection of tap handles, is a nice touch. The owner is often behind the bar; he is a gentleman and a scholar.

This nostalgia Irish pub takes you into a relaxing atmosphere. Menu is a variety of taste. Street parking. Room in back to park.

Ive been here a few times and everything I have gotten has been great, the service is great as well and food comes out pretty quick. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area!

We got fish and chips and the ahi tuna panini and the fish for both were cooked perfectly.

They were a little slow, but the food was fresh and really good, and we appreciated that the staff wear masks.

Had their Guinniss Smashburger and it was very good along with their shoestring fries also very good. Went their first time and surprised at how larhe the place is and the long bar. Great neighborhood restaurant. I was there with 24 golfers and the service was excellent. I'll go back.

Stopped here on our way to ocean city beach - wonderful service and great food. I got the crab soup and the salad with portobello mushrooms ( vinaigrette dressing) with grilled salmon. It was very good and filling. My kids got the chicken tenders and the slides with fries.

I need to find reasons to visit Denton just to get the fish an chips! UNBELIEVABLE FLAVOR! everyone enjoyed the food also . Cool place 😎

The music isn’t too loud. People are nice too. They didn’t mind a few hours spent at a table woth my friend while they weren’t too busy.

Great food and friendly staff! I love the Irish baked potato soup. Seriously delicious!

Delish lunch driving through town. All six of enjoyed our meals.
Specialty drink was so good and the tuna panini was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Yum!

I had the potato soup (wonderful) , Reuben sandwich (perfect) and for dessert this fantastic bread pudding. Wow...eyes rolled back for a moment. Nice place with a good atmosphere

In the area for the Ridgley Car Show and found this gem while exploring. Cute historical downtown. Awesome restaurant! Food was very good. Menu had something for everyone. Everyone was friendly and pleasant. We were served by the owner himself and learned of his plans for to continue to make his restaurant a destination. Since we aren't from here, chances are we won't be back, but we do want to let everyone else know how great it was!!

Love the outside seating during the warmer months where we can have our dogs with us. 😍

2 of us enjoyed sitting at the Bar. 1st time visiting and not our Last. Totally enjoyed fried oysters, house salad & cream of crab soup. Brian was behind the Bar and could not have been any better with his service, attentiveness, and hospitality. Small place that may just surprise you. Fresh fish and hand cut fries looked amazing. Definitely on my next visits radar. Families with young'ns are welcomed. Hidden Gem!

Cute place for a quick lunch on the way to our beach trip. Was family friendly enough for our outgoing 3 year old.
Would recommend for lunch.
