Longhorn Truck and Car Plaza

Ok so first off... appearances are deceiving. I ate in the diner in the gas station while traveling through and we had great service and very good food. I judged before I ate but it was awesome and the sweet tea was good!!

Clean and kept up rooms and a comfy bed. Microwave, fridge, an armchair and a table for two. Nice little casino and the restaurant is good. Friendly staff too.

Great place to eat! I enjoyed my lunch and everyone is so pleasant. I had a flat tire and at the fuel line. Road side assistance took hours but everyone understood and assisted as much as possible. The restrooms were nice and clean. It doesn’t look like it from the outside but it’s taking care of on the inside. The price of fuel was good and they accept app pay and I was able to play my lottery. Thanks Ladies keep up the good work.

Old school Travel plaza, It could use some upgrades. Food is good. They have a variety of food at the Hot bar at the register.

When I started driving professionally almost 40 years ago, honestly don’t remember if this place even existed. Just another truck stop, like all the rest. As the years have passed, truck stops have become nothing more than a convenience store with big parking lots. Not the Longhorn! This is a classic old school style truck stop! Lots of parking and a sit down cafe. I stop here every chance I get. Good food and my waitress was attentive and courteous.

So this place doesn't look like much of a restaurant from the outside but the food was delicious, the place was so clean and the service was incredible. I had the fried shrimp potatoe. The shrimp is perfectly crisp with a very tasty batter. There's a lot of truck parking. I will definitely be stopping here again.

Eat here about once a month. Never had a bad meal. Breakfast prices are very good. Still has the old school truck stop appeal. Highly recommend if you want a good home cooked type meal at a decent price.

Nice little old school truck stop. Like someone said, a little outdated, but I got no complaints, it fits the era of trucking that I remember years ago before technology, reserve parking and automated shower reservations. If you miss the old mom and pop truck stops, this is not a bad one to save in your favorites. Parking lot was clean, let's keep it that way (you know who you are drivers). Would be happy to see more places like this. Restaurant is quiet, no busy noise, no fast food, no ignorant people, just a classic. Sad to see so many of these places killed by the franchise fast paced trash holes that they call a "truck stop" these days. THIS is a truck stop!

Great food & friendly staff. Doesn’t get much better than that.

We are traveling in our motorhome & stopped here for lunch. There was plenty of room to park our 41' motorhome, towing a car. We both had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was very good! Chicken was moist & tender. We both also had potato salad. It was definitely home made & tasted a lot like what my mother used to make, many years ago. They were short staffed, so service was a little slow, but the staff was very pleasant & apologized for the wait. Yes, we would stop here again.

Cashier's are awesome. Great customer service. Great crackers. Never ate in the restaurant but plan too very soon. I have walked through it several times and it's always clean and the food being cooked smells wonderful. The diesel pumps are always in good working order for my drivers. Windshield washer solution always full along with paper towels. Water and air always working. Bathrooms are in excellent condition and very clean and well maintained.

Restaurant was clean and nice atmosphere. Our server Tawney was awesome. Try the fried cheese curds, delicious, mom and sister had chicken fried chicken , I had bbq baked potato. Everything was delicious.
We decided we will never eat at Delta Downs again. They can keep serving their boot leather chicken sandwiches to someone else. We will be back.

Absolutely great food in the restaurant...very decent prices...friendly staff...very accommodating..definitely will stop there again when coming through Louisiana...
Motel rooms were decent...
Manager Melissa went out of her way to accommodate a disabled person..
Had 2 other employees stay as well..

I have no idea what the bad reviews are about at all. I am a female who is rather particular about very specific truck stop issues, such as (#1)clean and safe environment, (#2) good food and drink, (#3) exceptional service and customer appreciation, specifically where professional drivers are concerned. This is the first time we've stayed at Longhorn and we will visit this place from here on out, every time we are on this route. Food was decent and restaurant was clean. Bathroom was clean and from what I hear the men's room was found the same. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and accommodating, and the casino machines were loose and paying out. I literally played $4.70 altogether and won $108.00, which paid for our dinner and our entertainment/falling for the night. Company preference is PFJ, but when we can we stay at privately owned truck stops, and this one will be visited again and again.
please consider giving this place a try-get your fuel and shower on your 30 at whatever TS your boss tells you that you must, but end your day here if you can-you will not be disappointed. We are losing privately owned TS's left and right to the Big Three! BTW, SO MUCH PARKING AVAILABILITY IT'S NOT FUNNY!

I stayed here for a weekend and i have to say wow !! The staff are great and friendly , the rooms have the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on and I've stayed at 5 star hotels before and in my opinion the beds here bet them by a long shot!! There's plenty of parking, anything u need is at this one place I will definently stop here every time I cross over the state line

Really great food. I had the butterfly shrimp.my husband had the fried porkchops. The portions are huge! The waiter was a great guy. Id eat here again for sure! Store is nice bathrooms are nice and clean but oddly very dark in the womens bathroom.

Small restaurant, western motif, food was AWESOME! 10 oz rib eye steak almost melted in our mouths, and the catfish filets reminded me of home. Light cornmeal crust, cooked to perfection. Waitresses were polite, and the service was quick. Very happy with our stop, will definitely be back. Old reviews are just that. Old. Worth the time, and the change from fast food is a major selling point. Real food, real good, from real people.
