The Butcher's Block

Stopped by the Butcher’s Block to get some fresh ground sausage. It was my first time visiting the store and the owner was very friendly and explained what he had available. I got a 1/2lb of the hot and another 1/2 lb of the mild sausage because I wanted to try them both. Also pick up some jalapeño cheddar sausage link for later. I prefer sausages patties for breakfast so I ‘patted them out’ (as we say in the country 😂 ) when I got home and cooked them with eggs and grits. They were great! The mild was very mild, and the hot wasn’t too hot at all. I’ll order the hot for breakfast in the future. I’ll probably mix some of the mild with ground beef the next time I make my own burgers. I look forward to returning and trying other meats from this locally owned and operated business. Sure, you pay just a little more than the big box stores, but you know that the meat is fresh and handled with care. More importantly, you are supporting a small business that is invested in the local community.

My husband and I moved out to this area of town and decided we really wanted to shop local when possible rather than support a grocery chain. We are thrilled we found this place! The owner, Roy, is the nicest guy and makes all of his own sausage in house. We've tried the jalapeño cheddar and the garlic - both great! His selection is way better than what you'd find at a grocery store and no ractopamine or other chemicals/preservatives, which is what we want. Dependent on what you buy, the meat is also less expensive or comparable to what you'd find in a grocery store. With the quality of what you get, we have been made loyal customers. Heck, we're having meatballs tonight, ribeye on Friday, and sausage this weekend for breakfast!

Some of the best customer service and most importantly the best cuts of meat you will find in our area. I've ordered and purchased steaks from big names and they do not stand a chance to a Butcher Block Filet. Some of the best marbling you can find. While you are there go ahead and get a few pounds of Smoked sausage because it's the best!

This is our go to meat store. Steaks are great and brisket are perfect. Folks that work here are phenomenal. As many times as I've been there I've never tried there cooked food until yesterday. Johnny gave me a sample of the smoked chicken wings, I'll now be getting an order of these whenever I go to pick up the steaks.

Saw sign constantly passing by so gave it a shot wanted to try something new. Definitely a low key spot for hot take out food. Nice portions and the cook very friendly and held great conversation while preparing meal. Didn't get anything from meat market but planning on getting large portions of cooked meat for holidays.

Nice people, and good service, very good selection of fresh meats they even sell lunch plates from Boston butt to chicken wings my favorite is the brisket lunch plate, rice with gravy, green beans and cornbread

Had a great experience with the gentleman in the shop. Showed us all the options he had. Settled on some ribeyes and a filet. The meat was excellent quality and the entire group enjoyed. Will definitely visit again the next time we come back to Savannah/Tybee.

Speaking mostly on the take out food: the food is incredible. Some of the largest portions on takeout food ive ever had with amazing prices. The white bbq sauce is unbelievable. The man running the kitchen is so nice as well. Highly recommend the sausage and mashed potatoes and gravy.

The owner/butcher was very helpful and meats were fantastic, great prices too.
Definitely going back on regular basis.

First time in. Small store. Steaks, chicken, sausage in butcher shop. Also, take out meals, which we didn't try. Did get some steaks. Hope they are good. Friendly people.

Extremely friendly people here! First time customer got 5lbs of the fresh sausage cooked it on the grill was amazing! Will definitely return for more sausage and to try other stuff they have!

I have been there many times. Jim the butcher is very helpful. They sale high quality excellent meats. The dried link sausage is excellent and they have agreed to make special orders especially for me.

They order special cuts for me which is very helpful.

They never disappoint!! The service is amazing. I always feel like I’m picking up food from family! Everyone is so friendly and really go the extra mile to make sure you have the best experience ever!! The food is DELICIOUS!!! I highly recommend!!!!

Genuinely kind people great service fantastic prices and their chef Johhny makes some of the best food I have ever tasted highly recommend. Never going anywhere else for steak again!

The owners have a specialty homemade sausage and sage is the magic ingredient. They have it raw and have it smoked. This sausage is the jive. I am so glad I tried it per owners advice. It's $5.99 a pound last trip I took 2020 September. You must purchase a pound or more. This is how it's sold.

My husband and I were wanting some special steaks for the Christmas weekend. So, I looked up a butcher here and found Butcher’s Block. This place is off the beaten path and I was excited because I love “hole in the wall” places. I was not disappointed. The people who run the place have been butchers for quite a long time. They are wonderful people who really know their stuff about meat. We had them cut 4 filets, took them home and grilled them. WOW!!!!!! When I cut into the steak, it was like a hot knife went through butter!!! These steaks were so tender! When I took a bite, it was the best tasting steak that I had ever had in my life. For one, it literally melted in my mouth and for another, the taste was absolutely incredible! I will never get my steaks anywhere else. You are doing yourself an incredible injustice if you buy your steaks somewhere else.

Family owned and operated!!!! They treat you like family and the food is terrific. They support local farmers and that concept alone is important to the community.
They now have a great in store menu. We bought chicken wings, spinach chicken wrap, jalapeño cornbread, and Roy’s specialty sausage for lunch. Purchased a nice Ribeye, local vegetables and potatoes to bake. They have local BBQ sauces and honey.

This place is a little hole in the wall location within Bloomingdale, GA. Once you walk inside it has that quaint little butcher block mom and pop feel. Ask for Roy who is the owner and head butcher. I have never had a bad steak from this location. He has awesome fresh and smoked sausage available daily and if you come at the right time he may have some of the oh so good Jalapeño Cheddar smoked sausage. Again ask for Roy and he will hook you up.

Stopped by for the first time and all I can say is wow!! The sausage is great coming off my smoker. Everything is fresh and the family freezer pack deals are the best. I’ll be back soon!!
