Hero City is the best spot around, as an avid collector, gamer and nerd enthusiast Hero City is my go to for all things cards, games, and retro. The owner Ko is always kind and personable, reasonable and fair for prices and trades. Skip Core, skip Bullmoose, head over and check it out. You will likely find that game that will bring you back to the good old days, for a good price, or that gem you didnt even know you wanted. At the very least stop by and check things out, talk up the great Ko, and you'll get what Im saying. Skip the overpriced and unfriendly spots (ehem..Core, Bullmoo), you'll be glad you stopped by!!!

Despite opening late in the day, I am such a frequent customer at Hero City, they have such a wide library and consoles at very good price, Trade in credit rate is very good, So far ive purchased a 2DS XL and a Genesis and they both work fabulously many shelves full of discontinued games and consoles, lots of boxed stuff and generally nice staff!

Great place for all kinds of Video games, New and used. A broad spectrum of Board games and Card games... too much more to list!

I went there for the first time today and had a great long chat with the owner on a range of topics. This is a hidden gem of a retro game store with lots on offer. I found a title I’d wanted for a while and prices are totally fair and reasonable especially for a retail location. I’m looking forward to many return visits.

I come here every Friday, awesome location, owner is very nice. Everyone is friendly, easy 5 stars.

I stopped in for the first time yesterday and have no complaints. They carry a variety of singles for MTG, yu-gi-oh and pokemon. Lots of tables for games. They also have a large selection of videos games and accessories for almost every console that has come out. From what I could tell the staff is very friendly, and have an in depth knowledge of the products they carry.

Been coming here since I was a bit younger always have had great experiences there. Today I went in after not being in there in 3 or 4 years and Ko still remembered me. Gave me a great price on my trade in and gave me the best price around for red dead 2. They have upgraded to the back unit and have tons of space for the local kids to come and play different card games together. This place is a local gem and one of the best additions to our little town. Thank Ko!

Great store! A nice selection of retro games with fair prices. The store even has an area to game and play card games. The employee was very helpful and down to earth. The regular customers we saw coming in seemed really nice as well. We picked up a handful of games and would gladly visit often if we lived closer. Highly recommended

Awesome little retro games shop. The owner Ko, is very personable, and makes an effort to make his customers feel welcome. The game and console selection is great, especially with 7th generation consoles and older. They even had stock of harder to find stuff like a Sega Saturn, and a Japanese spice orange GameCube. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area, come for the games and stay for the personal touch Ko and his employees bring to the place.

Decided to check this place out. Was looking to do same trade-ins and buy some DS games. Gave me a great price on the trade-ins and double checked the games prices I was purchasing to see if they had dropped on price. I was thrilled with the honesty and the help offered. Next time I’m looking to add some classic games I’ll be making the trip. Thanks again guys!

Stumbled on this place on my way home from a vacation.
I did not expect a lot from a tiny little store. But I was in no way disappointed. Fantastic collection of cards and especially video games, which is what I'm usually after.

The staff were incredibly friendly and the person helping me out the whole time was making good conversation throughout and was very patient while I perused the store trying to figure out what to use my store credit on (One copy of "The Last Story Collector's Edition" for the Wii and a CIB "Chrono Trigger" for the DS.

Best store in the area for mtg . Owner personally spent hours with me helping build my deck with a great selection of video games as well. All employees have a passion for what they do and are extremely knowledgable . A must see hidden gem for all mtg players.

The owner is extremely welcoming of all gamers and players! There is a seating area inside the store with tables and chairs for all kinds of gameplay or trading, can sometimes just walk in to find & meet people to play games with - tabletop, consoles, cards, virtual gaming and trading. They hold some sort of small tournament weekly. Free WiFi available, just have to ask.

Bran new I suggest if your into this kind of thing to get over there and check it out peopple ..I'm not really into this but I checked it out anyways nice peopple they stoped what they were doing to answer my questions with out any issues that goes along way in my book .awsome place check it out..

Ko is one of the best video game shop owners around. He remembers your name and makes an effort to get to know you as a person rather than just a customer.

His selection is very good and all of his prices are very reasonable.

I can't recommend this store enough!

I just moved back to Massachusetts and wanted to rebuild my retro gaming collection and heard about Merrimac Games so decided to stop by and let me say, the owner, Ko is one hell of a good man! I bought a PS2’s slim off him yesterday and it wasn’t working properly, I brought it back and he exchanged it no problem. That one wasn’t working either so I brought it back too. I wasn’t upset, just decided Ko might no what is going wrong more than I. Well we couldn’t figure it out so he exchanged the PS2 and then offered an additional game for free because of the trouble. It wasn’t necessary but I appreciated it and it shows how great of a guy he is and how he cares for his customers and their experiences! I’ll definitely be back!!

Amazingly nice staff. Good setup. Was willing to give me the better game bundle at the same price. If I'm in town again, they will definitely get my business again. I was very impressed

I've been here twice now. I absolutely love this store. I don't live in the area but my in-laws live in amesbury. This places prices are fair and the service is amazing.

My son and I brought in some consoles, games, and accessories to sell. They are honest, fair, and polite. I highly recommend giving them your business.
