In addition to the high quality ice cream, the employees are kind and helpful. Pair this with a fun location and you get to four stars. The only reason for not getting a fifth is that the prices are steep for ice cream.

We are from CO and we don’t have any places like this out there. The service was friendly, she made lots of good suggestions and offered samples. The flavor combos were soooo good. We ended up getting an ice cream sandwich and it was delicious! Also they had a changing station in the bathroom that provided wipes and diapers. I’ve never seen anything like that. So wholesome and family oriented.

What an incredible gem in downtown HSV. Their take on the banana split was fresh and modern. The banana was addicting with the sugar. The kids loved the cookies and cream as well as the brambleberry. Wil be a must stop for our treks into town. Great Mil discount to boot.

Cozy chic for blissful Holiday desserts and decadent hot chocolate is Big Spoon Creamery in Huntsville, AL! I have already been back since my first introduction to this dessert paradise by my niece on October 15, 2023.

My favorite is the Lemon Sorbet or Meyers Lemon with that fantastic pumpkin spice waffle cone. Made with rich cocoa beans, this hot chocolate treats the inner senses to the kindest hug ever.

A decor of snazzy, modern-industrial style, bold exposed ductwork, with sleek, minimalist tiling mixed with warm bamboo wood welcomes sophisticated patrons to an intimate conversationalist spot or a downtime oasis for one.

The best ice cream in Huntsville! The flavors are very unique. Highly recommend the chocolate ice cream, it has an amazing dark chocolate flavor and is made with a high quality chocolate from France. The cookiewiches and the homemade waffle cones are delicious as well.

Edit: Please bring back the valentines flavor with chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, and a caramel swirl. It was the best ice cream I've ever had.

This is a hidden gem in downtown HSV, and it should be everyone’s go to place whenever they have a sweet tooth!! Icecream here doesn’t get any fresher or unique than this, and from start to finish, the service was exceptional. My husband got the Peanut Butter Honey, and I got the Ricotta Fig, which sounds different, but was absolutely delicious. I also got a scoop of the chocolate, which was rich, creamy, and so decadent! I already can’t wait to go back and try out a new specialty flavor. We will be back! It’s amazing having a place that does homemade icecream and not the generic stuff off the shelves to resell.

Best ice cream spot in Huntsville in my opinion. The ice cream is fantastic and the staff is so nice and fun. We watched them give out a free ice cream to someone “just because they thought it might make them happy.” So cool.

Happened on this shop while visiting downtown Huntsville! I highly recommend!! The ice cream is amazing!! Lots of wonderful original flavors - so hard to choose! The manager was great too! A young family was in line ahead of me and their small child dropped their cup of ice cream upside-down on the floor while walking to the table. The parents threw it away, which of course caused the child to burst into tears. The father said he would share his. The manager noticed what had happened and brought the child another cup of ice cream (at no charge!) saying "we can't have tears - everyone needs to be happy in an ice cream shop!". Another nice touch was a canister of Lactaid at the register so those who are dairy intolerant can enjoy too!

Absolutely adorable Ice cream shop with tons of unique flavors and some good basic ones as well. Homemade waffle cones and good toppings are also worth the stop in! Service was quick and they are always more than willing to offer tastes.

There was a long line but the workers were moving quick! Jaylen (I think that’s his name based on employee pictures) was very welcoming and helpful, despite them being busy and probably stressed. All other employees were kind and quick too. The serving size and flavor was better than Jeni’s Ice cream!

Big spoon is our all time favorite ice cream shop! The ice cream is incredible with tons of unique flavors and pairings. I love that they are freshly made with lots of local ingredients and without food dyes. The waffle cones are always fresh, and the staff is always so friendly and patient! We love that the menu is always changing too and the vegan options were a nice surprise.

I loved everything about Big Spoon Creamery! You can tell they really spent a lot of time on the architecture and design of the interior of the building. They really thought of all the details! I ordered the blueberry goat cheese ice cream and it was very good! A great balance!

First off: DO NOT expect a “plain” flavor here!! This shop is for the adventurous ice cream connoisseur who wants to experience flavor and texture combinations beyond vanilla bean or chocolate. I have been twice only but each time had a flavor I just loved and has me excited to try another! First time was key lime pie. The second was rhubarb rose cheesecake. My husband liked his flavors but prefers less in them (but this not his review, it’s mine!)
I love the textures you experience as their flavors have pieces of what you order in them. For example, the mouth feel of creamy cheesecake in my rhubarb cheesecake flavor and graham cracker in the key lime pie takes the enjoyment up a notch.
It reminds of a lovely ice cream shop my husband and I visited in Portland where I had lavender mint chip (just a humble suggestion for a future flavor!!)

Awesome ice cream. It’s a great addition to downtown Huntsville especially late night on a Saturday (open until 10). They have a new flavor every month. I always get the cookies and cream with a cone.

Best vegan ice cream around! They change flavors every few months and it’s amazing every time. They go above and beyond to actually put out good flavors- not just serve the same ole same ole. Would highly recommend!

“Garden mint chocolate chip” tastes like it was fresh picked this morning, and the banana split was awesome! The ladies at the counter were helpful with samples and suggestions, and very nice. This was our first time but we will be back!!

Excellent ice cream, super creamy and smooth. Lots of flavors to choose from, but several of them are not in my old fashioned taste. They allow plenty of samples if you are more daring than me. Fast service with a smile make this shop a welcoming place. Try the handmade chocolate waffle cone for an extra treat. Stop by if you are in downtown Huntsville.

We have been a couple of times now and enjoyed each visit! Customer service has always been great in addition to delicious ice cream. Our last visit we tried the banana split which was delicious, absolutely love the caramelized banana.

Wow - ice cream is sooo good! Staff is very friendly. I tried the butter pecan and it was stacked with candied pecans…straight up the best I have had!!

The girls were very helpful with this being our first time visiting. The coconut lime was absolutely refreshing! It was nice to see they had vegan options. We will definitely be back when we are in the area .
