Quality work, owner is on site every day, true craftsmanship, reasonable pricing, and honest. Over the last 10 yearsand 3 different jobs Calnan's has replaced windows, sealed leaks, installed insulation, and done repair work on my 95 year old home. I had numerous windows that had rotting thresholds that other contractors had "repaired" that only lasted a few years. Also have had not so good experiences with other window replacement companies(one rhymes with "Fella"). Roband his crew has been a pleasure to do business with. Calnan's is a family owned company that wants to see their customers truly happy. I always feel they are looking out for my best interest and not just trying to make a buck. Now I don't even call for competitive quotes. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Rob (the owner)came by and emailed me a quote. I thought it was a little bit on the high side and I asked if he could possibly cut it down a little bit and leave a step out. He mentioned it would be in your best interest if you went with my recommendation, or you’ll be calling me back to do something else. He was right! Rob and his team know what needed to be done. We purchased the house December 2020 and there were air gaps in the crawl space. Rob pointed this out and when the wind blew through that space last winter we felt a chill in the sunroom above. I would highly recommend Calnan’s.

Absolutely HANDS DOWN - we had THE best experience with Calnan's Energy Systems!

I'd reached out to two other insulation companies to get quotes to have the walls of our 1940's Cape insulated -- one company never got back to me, and the other came out to measure quickly but I had to chase down their prohibitively-high quote call after call, for a couple weeks.

Rob Calnan came out promptly, took the measurements and explained the process and the materials used. He kept in touch, keeping us updated on the status of the building permit, when our work would start (no small feat during this mostly-rainy summer!), and was here as the insulation was going in.

Rob and his sons were very professional, personable and knew their job! Trust, on-time, reliable, professional, and friendly are all words that I'd use to describe the entire crew at Calnan's Energy Systems.

Our project took only two days, and at the end you couldn't find a single paint chip on the ground, nor any disruption at all.

We live on a moderately-busy road, and we can tell in the noise level, that the insulation is already having a positive impact. We can't wait to see how much energy we can save this winter during the cold weather!

Rob and his crew’s work was exceptional. His initial consultation gave me a great deal of confidence about moving forward with a difficult construction job, then the actual work was impeccable. Rob organized and handled all communications with vendors (dumpster) and updated me regularly and with great detail. His work was professional, fast, and very clean. He will always be my first phone call for any contracting work I need done.

Rob Calnan has replaced 2/3rds of the windows in our house, and I only wish I’d known about him when I had the first third done. He’s replaced doors, trim, and siding as well. His work is always tidy and it’s nearly impossible to tell that something was replaced. He does a great job on our quirky older house. We’ve had him come back for multiple projects because he’s such a joy to work with. I picked Rob because he sounded like a man who knew doors six ways to Sunday, and he did not disappoint.

Rob shows up when he says he will, and communicates if he won’t be able to come. He’s on top of paperwork and follows up with me if I don’t follow up with him. He’ll add on extra little carpentry jobs for us, and has given me good advice about things outside his scope. He’ll come for relatively small jobs. He does not ask me if I need to double-check with my husband.

The closest thing I have to a complaint is that he often gives me very short notice for when he’ll be able to come, but I suspect that if I asked for more lead time he would be able to accommodate.

After a poor experience with Revise energy, I reached out to Calnan in the hopes of having quality work performed. They exceeded my expectations. R60 cellulose for the attic with R60 foam board for the verticals. The house is SO much more comfortable now. They also put in a cat walk in the attic so I can reach key parts of the attic easily. The workmanship is just top notch, as are the materials, service, and communications. They cleaned up after every day of work so the house wasn't a mess of insulation, and told me what they were attempting to achieve every day. I'm recommending them to everyone I know.

Rob was a great communicator and his promptness and knowledge were one of the main reasons we went with him over a slightly lower estimate we got. His sons did a good job of doing the work we required, which was messy work, and they left the place in pretty good shape with just some leftover bits of insulation here and there. If I have any additional insulation needs, Calnan would be my first call.

Rob Calnan was recommended by a neighbor. I thank her every time I see her! I met Rob a month ago and he insulated my basement last week. He has every quality you would want in a contractor and more. He is a perfectionist and a great communicator, you will never be in the dark about anything! He is also a great human being, I am glad to have Rob in my contacts going forward.

The roofing company we hired to reshingle our roof suggested that we consider upgrading the attic insulation, and recommended Rob Calnan. Rob came by the day we called him. He was very attentive to our schedule, and went out of his way to fit us in, and through the entire process was readily available and responsive both to cell phone and email. The work took five days, and after each day we received a call about how things went, and what would be done the next working day. This is a family business. Several of his employees are his own children. He takes great pride in the quality of the work that they do under difficult work conditions, squeezing up through narrow openings into cramped, dark attics with little headroom. Rob was very knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about sharing his storehouse of knowledge about insulation. He educated us. He has been actively involved in developing standards in the insulation industry. Three months after the job was completed, when we emailed on the eve of solar panel installation to ask about whether the solar installers should know anything about the insulation, he responded immediately, and said that the solar installers should call him with any questions. We are very impressed by his commitment to his work. The insulation has made the house noticeably cooler.

My husband and I hired Rob to replace our front door, which had failed due to water leakage into the frame... and we are so glad that we did! As Rob will tell you himself, he is likely not the absolute cheapest option - but his commitment to "getting it done correctly the first time" was exactly what I was looking for, and really sets him apart from everyone else I talked to. He and his sons were extremely detail-oriented, thorough, and professional; every step of the process was explained/shown to me, and the end result looks and functions great. This is the second time we have used Rob Calnan and his company to provide new storm windows for our circa 1900 house plus some other weatherization services. He is totally honest and professional, and we are more than satisfied with his work. Moreover, we found him personally to be extremely congenial and, more importantly, communicative.
