We rented kayaks and had a great experience. Danny was super friendly & very professional. He transported the boats to the put in, carried them to the water and made sure we got launched. I’d highly recommend this shop & shop owner. We will definitely use them again when we come back next year.

The best surf shop owned by a local family that Topsail could ask for! Rented a paddle board and enjoyed good vibes in the shop. Refreshing to get away from that commercial tackiness. This one is real y’all!

First time visiting the NC coastline and had a wonderful time. North Topsail Surf and Paddle played a huge role in our positive experience. They’re a family owned business and are very friendly, reasonably priced, easy to work with, and instill a strong work ethic in local youth. The owner took the time to ask my name and where I was from, which led to a very nice conversation. Very genuine people with quality products to rent or buy. highly recommend.

Danny and his team took care of all our surfing needs! He spent time on the phone with me before our trip to discuss lesson and rental options. We had 4 teenagers take lessons and they had a great time and learned a lot. Danny was super accommodating for our needs with surfboards, SUP, and skimboards throughout our week. We loved the personal touches you get from a locally owned shop. I couldn’t recommend this shop more!

Fantastic one on one lessons for 10 and 12 year old grandsons. They actually surfed!!! Instructors were very personable. Shop and Italian ice after the lesson made for a great morning.

Best customer service, Danny was super kind and helpful, chatted with us for a while as we browsed the shop. He helped me pick out a skimboard and told me everything about it, making sure I was sure about buying one. He offered us the best ice cream i have ever had after. Best surf shop in Topsail and all of NC.

I highly recommend North Topsail Surf & Paddle! Pretty cool family run business. My husband and I took surf lessons here and it was AWESOME! Danny communicated well and set us up with our own instructor, which we really appreciated being our first time in our 30's. The instructors were just amazing!! Danny also surprised us and took pictures of us standing up the boards!! Which we really appreciated since we were too busy learning to bring the camera! Can't wait to see them! Thanks again for the memory of a lifetime and a new hobby to pursue!!

Great customer service! They made sure we were taken care of, even when the water level was very low. Fair prices and excellent experience. Would definitely rent from them again!

The owner was so friendly, accommodating, and informative. Such an easy-breezy no hassle experience! Even while dealing with unpredictable weather forecasts, he worked around our schedule and got us on the water in no time. We will be back next year!

North Topsail Surf and Paddle was a great addition to our bachelorette weekend! Danny, the owner, was so accommodating and made our quick paddling trip super easy. He drove the kayaks to a launch spot just down the road and helped get us all set up. Wonderful for anyone looking for short term rentals!

Really lovely family owned shop!! Good experience start to finish. Knowledgable of local parking rules/costs. Launched & retrieved us in an easily accessible place. Provided Italian Ice after as a cool down treat. Cute little beach shop on site. Would definitely recommend & use again when visiting the area.

Our favorite Topsail business of our whole vacation and family owned!! Our boys did surf lessons with them which they really enjoyed. The instructors were young high school and college kids who were fun and patient and had them up on the boards in no time. We found some great beach and surf accessories in their shop and loved the Italian ice, too. We returned to rent surfboards later in the week—can’t beat the price. We’ll definitely return to North Topsail Surf Shop on our next trip to Topsail!

Great experience and people at North Topsail Surf and Paddle! Very good prices for the several items we rented there including surfboards, umbrellas, etc. We are looking forward to our next vacation at Topsail so that we can rent from them again!

Their location was showing up incorrectly on Google Maps. It is actually a little to the right of Beach Bum Restaurant, which is very easy to get to and right off the main road. It's just the corner office at the right end of the building.

LAST MINUTE SAVIOUR! Another vendor misrepresented the start of their season online, but allowed the booking. When we showed up to the meeting place, called, and found out the location wasn't open yet, we called NTSP. He was able to get us booked within 30 min, and on the water in 45! Thanks for saving our wedding anniversary date!

We rented 5 kayaks for a 2 hour trip and had an amazing time. The kayaks were delivered to a local park for us and we were given complimentary Italian ice when we returned to the shop. Great service, great people, and great times. Highly recommend using them and checking out the store inside

Great family/local owned surf shop! Lessons were great and process was easy and stress free. My daughter wanted lessons but didn’t want to go alone so we did mom daughter bonding surf lessons...needless to say I think I enjoyed it more than her! Joel and Caleb were great!

So happy I came across this place. I like in phx az and am a white water, back country, ocean kayaking fool. These guys are amazing and very hospitable. Willing to drop and pick you up, friendly, helpful. This guy made my trip to NC very memorable. And there are some scary/exhilarating places to explore in the river just west of the ocean. But without a doubt, these guys deserve your business. You won't be disappointed. You're welcome by the way.

Excellent customer service! We will come back and use them again! It started lightening and we came in early from kayak and paddleboard rentals. They were super helpful!

Even in the off season, the folks at North Topsail Surf & Paddle provided high quality boards and pfds for a serene and peaceful paddle on the inlet. The friendly vibe and extra care to orient us to the landscape made for an easy, breezy, memorable fall morning. They must have a contract with the local birds: the egrets, herons, and kingfishers all showed off in the quiet sunshine!

Went here for a surf lesson today with my boyfriend and we had a great time. Joel and Caleb are amazing teachers and are super patient if you are slower to pick up on some of the techniques. They make you feel prepared before you even step into the water. Once you are in, they give personal tips on what you're doing and how to improve. They will definitely get you riding a wave before your lesson is over! I couldn't recommend them enough! If anyone I know is ever in the area, I will definitely tell them to give North Topsail Surf & Paddle a try.
