Absolutely the Best Surf Shop on the Island!**

I had an incredible experience at this locally-owned surf shop. The customer service is top-notch—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can rent paddleboards and surfboards, and the quality of the equipment is excellent.

But the highlight of my visit was definitely the ice cream and Italian ice. It's hands down the best on the island! I highly recommend stopping by for both the gear and the treats. This place truly has it all. Can't wait to return!

The owner, Danny, was very flexible and very knowledgeable about surf conditions. He worked with us to find the best day and time for individual lessons for 3 kids (10/11/13) that would optimize our chance of getting the most out of the lessons. All 3 instructors (David, Braxton, and Michael) were amazing and friendly. The kids felt instantly comfortable with them. With their help and instruction, all 3 kids got up and rode many waves in! A great experience all around and inexpensive for private surf lessons. Don’t forget the free Italian ice afterwards… mango was the favorite!

I wish I could give them 10 stars! April and all the instructors were amazing. We had a group of 6, and we definitely flip/flopped on the final number, and April was incredibly patient with us AND worked to get all 6 kids together in one lesson. The instructors were awesome, encouraging, and supportive. after the lesson we rented two boards for the kids to share. My daughter’s instructor was surfing for a bit and called out to my daughter (whose sister was taking her turn on the board) “hey birthday girl!” He let her use his board! She was so excited and felt so special. Such a memorable day! Thank you so much to the whole team at Drop In Surf!

Great service. Had a surf lesson for my daughter at 11:30am. Did not have to wait. Started on time.
All the staff and employees very friendly and knowledgeable.
The gentleman that did the lesson for my daughter spent a lot of time with her and made her feel comfortable in the water and on the board.
Danny the owner is top notch.

Awesome surf shop and lessons! My boyfriend and I took a lesson with Grace and Michael and had a blast! We even caught a few good waves and the owners were nice enough to stand on the beach and get pictures! 11/10 recommend this place!

My husband and I rented kayaks from this wonderful family-owned business yesterday. The service was stellar, and the owners were terrific. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend North Topsail Surf and Paddle.

A fantastic family owned business where they truly go out of their way to give you and your family a wonderful adventure! We rented 4 paddle boards and a tandem kayak. The owners delivered all of our equipment in a timely manner and made sure we were good to go! We also really enjoyed their ice cream and Italian ice! Definitely planning to return next year!

We booked a surf lesson for our daughters while at Topsail. It was awesome! Grace and Michael were wonderful instructors. The owners are super nice...even took some pictures and videos for us. And we enjoyed a nice Italian ice snack afterwards! Highly recommend and we'll use them again for a fun outing the next time we visit!

Danny and April are super professional and also very accommodating. I have used them for the last 2 years without a hitch and will most definitely be choosing them again next summer. Thank you both.

We choose drop in surf for lessons for our 6 and 5 year olds and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. There are many variables to consider when learning to surf, and the owners made sure we went when the conditions were ideal, and the instructors were patient and fun and the knife had a great experience! I highly recommend this business!

Rented boards they were in great condition. Super close to the beach we walked across with the boards. People are super friendly and ice cream was very good!

We had a great time kayaking, the staff was very friendly. We originally had our time scheduled for 10:00am when it started raining we thought we were going to have to cancel but when we called the staff was very flexible bumping our time so we wouldn’t get wet, they also took and sent pictures of our cast away. We would highly recommend Drop-in-Surf

Brendon was a great teacher for my grandson. The class included about 15 rides which was do to decent waves. April and Danny do a great job running Drop In Surf.

Rented 4 boards while on vacation, great service and easy to work with! They had boards ready and you’re able to walk right across to beach. Also got some amazing Italian ice when returning boards!

Boards were great and very easy to rent! Everyone was very helpful too!! We also got ice cream after 3 hours of surfing which was such a great way to end the day!!
