Murray Hill

As a wedding photographer, I love Murray Hill. The home has a lot of lovely vintage details for getting ready photos and the ceremony backdrop overlooking the Potomac is awesome for photos. I especially love the half open reception barn with a ton of string lights. It made photographing dancing really fun and everyone had a blast. ig @smackthatbird

Great wedding venue, provided heat is not an issue - weather can be factor but the setting is amazing! The barn for a reception is nicely setup for events too. could use ceiling fans or fans of some type as it can be HOT.

Its a beautiful location for any occasion, Overlooking the potamac with a spectacular view. Its quiet and descrete and tucked away so you have your privacy. It was a very nice way to spend the evening. Not sure about pricing for the space but there is a house area and a barn with a field which was great for a wedding and the reception.

We got married at this venue on 10/21/23 and had the most wonderful wedding! The venue is breathtaking - from the bluff overlooking the river, to the cocktail hour setting by the pool, to the rustic barn, this is the perfect setting for a fall wedding. The owners, John and Peggy Rust were helpful, understanding, and quick to respond to questions and requests. On the day of, Susan helped ensure our day went smoothly. I cannot say enough good things about this venue!!!

We held our daughter's wedding at this venue in June 2019. John and Peggy Rust, the owners, were fantastic hosts, available to make sure that every detail of our event was handled properly.

The manor house is absolutely gorgeous! The 18th century home is as a romantic setting as you could ever want as your wedding party prepares for the main event.

The main event over-looking the Potomac River was beyond epic, and the grounds were immaculately kept.

The poolside cocktail space was a perfect transition between the wedding event and reception. A nice landing spot for the guests making their way to the reception area.

We held the reception in the barn, which was rustic and very clean. With beautiful white tulle and greenery we were able transform it into a magical space for the reception. If you catch the weather right, the outer field is extremely inviting as well.

I give this venue 5 stars plus! The hosts were extremely accommodating and it was the best space and an incredible value for all it had to offer.

The most gorgeous venue with the kindest owners and staff! As a photographer it is literally a dream to shoot at, and such a great location for so many events and shoots. Love it and can't speak more highly of it!

Lovely wedding venue on a private estate. Highly recommend !

From the moment we pulled up to Murray Hill and saw the stunning view of the Potomac we knew this is where we wanted to have our wedding. The view overlooking the river was perfect and there were SO many different ways to think about orienting our wedding arch for various views. During the wedding it was so nice to look over the river, feel the breeze and just soak in the majesty of their property.

The Rust's graciously open their home for weddings so I was able to get ready in their front room, take a moment to get pictures on the grounds, and also relax for a moment before heading out for the party. It is stunning, welcoming and comfortable. Peggy always made me feel at home and was so gracious. One of the best things about this venue is that if you book for the weekend you have time the day before and after to set up and tear down which was a lifesaver. Many venues that we visited had weddings back to back for several days straight and had strict load in and load out policies. I really appreciate having the time to add some last minute touches for the wedding and also having the time to make sure we left the space better than we found it. I really recommend this venue.

This venue is awesome. Gorgeous scenery of the river, friendly owners, great for photos. I love how natural light comes into the barn reception space from the side. They have clear curtains for when the weather isn't great but you still want natural light!

Murray Hill is a charming, rustic, yet elegant venue. Along the Potomac river it affords us photographers amazing backgrounds from river bends, to manicured gardens, vine covered archways and a large beautiful reception area. It's all around perfect for the rustic but classy bride.

Such an incredible wedding venue! The owners are extremely nice and helpful, they really let you transform the property into whatever you have in mind and will help you by providing a great list of vendors to get you there. I would highly recommend.

My friends held their wedding here. It's a great venue for a rustic wedding. The barn dresses up really nicely.

The owners were so friendly and accommodating. Some won't let us deliver and pick up rentals late at night. Looking forward to going there many more times

Lovely spot for a wedding - the view of the Potomac River is breath taking, barn was cozy and perfect for a nice intimate celebration.
