California Sewing & Vacuum

I just stopped in there a week or so ago because my vacuum had lost its intake power. The gal there showed me what had happened and also educated me on how I could troubleshoot if I experienced the problem again in the future. The best part is it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg, which I very much appreciate.
I also asked about sewing classes and they said they could call me when the store decides to go back to pre-pandemic schedule.

Great for sewing supplies! I live very close by so I always go here if I need more thread, needles, elastic, etc. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help you every step of the way!

Great place if you have a challenge with your vacuum cleaner or sewing machine. More than once, they have save the day for me. Tantalizing display of pretty new sewing machines- plus: very knowledgeable staff.

So glad this shop is still open. I have been there twice over the last 20 years with needed repair to my grandmother's old singer sewing machine.. He is efficient, reasonable and I am forever thankful that I can still sew on this vintage memory. Highly reccomentd.

I have been coming here for years, even back when it was Mr B.
I trust them with my Bernina's that is for sure, going to bring one in today for a tune-up!

I dropped my sewing machine off for a repair. They told me it would take them three to four weeks to get to because they were backed up. I didn’t hear from them for two months. Perhaps at another time their service was better but the lack of communication was disappointing.

This place sucks, unlike my broken vacuum cleaner that’s been sitting in there for over a week. It’s really the attitude of hey, you get it when u get it because our tech hasn’t even been in. Thanks for nothing.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Everyone I’ve interacted with at this store has been so incredibly rude. I’ve never written a google review before but felt inclined to write one for them. I’m a really kind and understanding person, but I just can’t believe how rudely I was treated all three times I visited this store (to make purchases!). I went out of my way to support them instead of Joann fabrics or Amazon because I love supporting local business. You’d think that a local small business would treat their customers with a basic level of respect, even just for self-preservation. Considering that other people have reported great customer service here, can’t help but feel that I may have even been discriminated against because of my age and race.

On top of rudeness, neither of the two women were wearing covid masks inside the store when I walked in. On proceeded to talk with me without a mask. Very disappointing.
