I had my mothers day dinner catered here and OH MY GOD! The food is so good! I got the brisket which was so tender it just fell apart🤤 the wings had this smokey flavor with the dry rub and it was such a good flavor combo. The cole slaw has mustard in it which im not usually a fan pf but it was sweet and crunchy and very nice compliment to the rest of the food. Texas beans were great, reminded me of bushes 🤤 the mac n cheese was also very tasteful😋😋This place is amazing! Love that they took over browns!

I had the BBQ ribs and chicken wings. Even though I got just a half rack, it was a struggle to finish it. The ribs was tender and the BBQ sauce slightly sweet. I like how the wings had hints of being smoked.

Highly recommended! Texas style BBQ place, the best wings in mainland!!!! The brisket, coleslaw, and potato salad really good! This will be one of our favorite local restaurants.

We have eaten here twice now and they have some great food! Best BBQ, Ive had in Frederick so far. From the fall off the bone ribs, to the mac N’ cheese, and cornbread, everything we have ordered has been really good. It’s right across from FMH. Service with a smile! SUPPORT LOCAL OWNED BUSINESSES

Five stars. The fellow behind the counter tried to sell me on his 18 hour brisket but I was a man on a mission for ribs.
The ribs were as good as can be. The bones each one pulled away clean. The meat was tender and flavorful everything I would expect.
The baked beans were nothing special. it’s as if they came out of a can.
A real hangup I had though was trying to leave the place with my hands for the entranceway door has a knob that must be turned and pulled inward, sounds like no big deal but can be tricky like I said when your hands are full it’s all a person can do not to drop anything.
Overall it’s a great place and next time I’m in the area I’m looking forward to hitting it up again.

The plates are piled high with delicious food. I couldn't finish it all! Definitely value for money.

Amazing place if you want TRUE southern food. The owner served us and he was very polite and attentive. Prices are fair considering the huge food portions -as seen in the pictures. The restaurant itself was very cozy and welcoming, so that was a nice first impression as soon as we walked in.

2021 Update: still my favorite BBQ place! You guys are awesome. There great service, even through Door Dash where it's severely lacking for other restaurants.

I had the pulled pork sandwich with mac & cheese. (I put the meat on the mac. & cheese.) It was awesome! The staff seemed friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and cozy. I'm so happy to have found this little gem!

This is a BBQ haven! I had their ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender and smothered in a mouthwatering sauce that had the perfect balance of sweet and smoky. The service was top-notch; the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great dining experience. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for family outings. I can't wait to try more items on their menu.

Mackie's is a great hole in the wall kind of place. The atmosphere is warm, and the customer service is great. I met the hostess and one of the cooks and they are both very nice. The food is fantastic, especially the sausage. Texas Heart Attack is a great item to get to share. Also ask about their dessert menu, it's legit. Better than Black Hog by a mile in my opinion.

This place is hands down one of the best BBQ restaurants in Frederick. You’re missing out if you don’t try it.
