Jesse and his assistants did a complete rebuild of our chimney in East Lansing, and it looks great. He even found bricks to match the 73-year-old multi-hued originals. The work was finished in a timely fashion, and they did a thorough cleanup afterward. Jesse is personable and communicates well, taking pains to explain completely what would be involved. The office manager was equally easy to work with. We highly recommend these folks.

I had no idea who to call to fix my basement walkout patio wall. The walls were about to fall over, crumbling and deteriorating from the previous owner of my house attempting to do-it-themselves. I called around some concrete specialized companies and they wanted to charge me $30-40,000 to rebuild this wall (one guy even quoted me $60,000!). Let me tell you, I am so happy I stumbled upon A1 Chimney Repair. They basically rebuilt my whole wall for such a reasonable cost, were timely, and did an amazing job. Quick quote, experienced and thorough. Had significant spawing of the bricks and the chimney cap was beginning to crack. Very communicative repair and discussing options. With a small team and many jobs it took some time to schedule but worth the wait and coordination.

I cannot recommend them enough. We bought our house and had someone else come and clean our chimney and they told us we needed to replace the lining. We hired A-1 to fix the brick of the chimney stack and I asked Jesse if we could get a quote on the lining as well while he was here. He looked at the lining and then was confused about what work needed to be done, he saved me $10-15k and did a great job on the chimney!

Had our chimney mortar repaired and some other work and very happy with the work! Jesse was very thorough with explaining the work needed and what he did. Highly recommend using A-1. It is important to support small, local businesses so please do not hesitate using them.

Initially there was a scheduling issue which was due to a typo, then another job took longer than expected... but everything got done and there were no surprises. Nothing is going to always go as planned and you just roll with it. The important thing is the job gets done and A1 did a great job.

Glad to finally get our brick repair done. Called 2 others, but one never did the estimate and the other scheduled, then rescheduled, then never showed up or called. We did have to do a reschedule with Jesse, but he showed and got the work done with no problems. Jesse checked all of our brick work to see if we had any other problems and found a second crack. Both are done now and look great. Very friendly and personable and gets the job done!

Highly recommend A-1 Chimney & Masonry Repair for all your fireplace/wood stove maintenance! We have a wood stove in our log cabin that was in major need of a sweeping and a fine ash was even starting to escape out of the flue somehow. A-1 came out just to provide a quote, but it was so badly clogged, that they knocked out the job same day. It's tough coming across reliable contractors nowadays, and I am very happy with the results and quick turnaround. Will definitely be coming back to them for annual sweepings from here on out. Jesse and his crew just rebuilt one chimney and repaired another chimney on my sister's home. Great workmanship and very professional. I've had some water seeping into locations inside the home all inline with the chimney stack. I had multiple masons, multiple roofers all come out providing their best guess. From tuckpointing a few areas, redoing the flashing, to bringing in a scissor lift for $2k or rebuilding the entire stack. Jesse from A-1 was the only actual person to go on my roof... He instantly found the issue (fairly trivial) and told me who I'd need to contact.
