Cast Iron Tavern

Great little spot just outside of the bustle of downtown. I worked up an appetite wandering around downtown Golden and saw that this place was up the road a bit so I headed over to get away and relax after.

Very happy I did, since I had a wonderful meal on a nice patio with my pup. Great service, a wide selection of great food, tasty drinks, and a nice quiet spot make this a place I'll come back to again and again. Very dog friendly!

First impression through the door is a cozy tavern feel with a cool stained glass bar back and a view into the kitchen. The drinks are served in Mason jars and there's plenty of wood and iron making a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

The staff was excellent and everyone but the bartender made a visit to check in/pre us. Our server was attentive and efficient, as was the staff. The kitchen looked like a well oiled machine and the food they put out was proof.

Not only was the food excellent, the portions were large and the pricing was outstanding. We plan to come back at least monthly to try the rest of the menu.

Just outside of downtown Golden and a must visit. Louder restaurant due to the busyness and size but we don’t mind that. Food was delicious! We ordered a variety of items and everything was so yummy! Our server/bartender seemed to have forgotten about us towards the end of our meal as we saw her chatting with coworkers while we waited to be helped, then another bartender had to close us out. All that to say they still get a 5star since everything else was so amazing!

Absolutely the best steak with veggies today. Sophie was an amazing bartender and the kitchen staff even came out to check on the food quality. Compound truffle mushroom better and the garlic was epic.

This is the best restaurant in Golden. Every time I come here I’m more and more impressed. The food is so dang good, every single thing I’ve ever gotten had been the best I’ve ever had. The burgers are huge and perfectly cooked, the Mac n cheese is phenomenal, the Brussels sprouts I had to ask for the secret recipe. The steaks are perfect too. And the Beer selection is everything I want. The people are absolutely rad and so much fun too. The owners are there working their butts off every day and are the best people! They are so deserving of such a successful restaurant.

We started off with cups of the Geen Chili and went family style on the Chimichurri Steak and Hot Chicken. Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The Green Chili was the right mix of spicy and delicious. The Hot Chicken was juicy, dressed in hot honey, and sat on a bed of bacon mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. The Chimichurri Steak was sliced on a bed of crisp pillowed fries. They were perfect pairings from start to end.

They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Great atmosphere and service. Food was phenomenal. Wings were perfectly executed. Look forward to returning.

They had me at "convivial" in their description. Very friendly staff and terrific menu. Really enjoyed the deviled eggs an house salad with lemon herb vinaigrette. Only downer was bread pudding dessert. Average product and tooooo pricey.

Oh man, I don't even know where to start! Everything about this place is awesome. I ordered the Sunday special which was a prime rib french dip, and it was the best sandwich I've probably ever had. My family got the spicy goats burgers and the cast iron burger, they all just raved about them the whole time. My husband even said it was the best burger he has had in a very very long time. The fries were fantastic too, very flavorful.
Happy we found a new spot to eat and drink, we will definitely be back very soon!

We split the Carribean salmon & shrimp and the chicken & apple sandwich. Both were exceptional.

This place seems like any other sports bar but it is easily one of the best places I've ever eaten at. The food taste like it was prepared by gods and 5 star chefs. The staff were all very friendly and the cooks singing in the kitchen gave off a vibe that everyone was having a great time working there. We came here for a birthday and it was just the best experience. Considering we paid less than ordering out for a couple pizzas, even better. They have a full bar and great desserts. The menu feels eclectic, but I would be shocked if there's not something on there for everyone. Best burger I've ever had. Seriously. I've never had a burger so good. 10 stars out of 5.

Rad little Golden joint with a neighborhood ambiance and some of the best food around. Most everything is from scratch, and it shows in the quality of the cuisine. The fish & chips is out of this world; the wings, wedge, and burgers are also not to be missed. Highly recommend, especially when downtown Golden is too overrun with tubers and goofy wanderers during the summer.

I had the chicken and mashed with vegetables! Excellent. The boiled shrimp are very tasty and the cocktail sauce is yum. Also tried the wings. Just ask for extra crispy. They were great! Kayleen our bartender was awesome, enjoyed the margarita! Stephanie was very accommodating. I suggest reservations as this place is a hot spot! Going back to try the hamburgers!

When you walk inside this place, you immediately know that their food is going to be good. They seated us at a table on an incline with a giant TV right next to us and paintings behind. We could see the entire tavern.
I ordered a pineapple pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing. Just a little warning, the sandwiches are almost as big as the burgers, and the burgers are so big that the menu has a warning about them.
The fries were insanely good but the potato chips were a little chewy. They were both made in the restaurant.
The waiter was so nice and the kids loved her. She was one of the nicest people who I have ever met at a restaurant, third probably only to Los Comales and Olive Garden.
Overall, a really great restaurant that I loved and that I would go back to again if I didn't live eight hours away! 👍👍

Just ate here. Wanted a nice place to celebrate a Mines graduate.

We had a party of nine. They let me book a reservation close to a month out. Got an instant text with the reservation.

The day before I get a text to confirm.

We arrive, and the table is set and ready.

We started with candied bacon and eggplant. Delicious.

All of our entrees came out close to the same time. Every dish was correct and hot out of the kitchen. Again, delicious.

Cast Iron Tavern is AMAZING. This restaurant treated us with the kindest service and delivered us delicious food with my favorite being Short Rib Shepard's Pie. The Mac 'N, Cheese is SO DELICIOUS. I couldn't believe it. I say this honestly, their mac n cheese is the best that I have ever tasted. I will definitely be back and would recommend this place to my closest friends and family.

I've only been the one time. That being said they have a comfortable atmosphere, pleasant staff all around from waitstaff, bartenders, hostess as well as the kitchen staff. Yes in that visit I was there midday of a week day & there maybe 40 minutes; enough time to have a respectable opinion of the restaurant in it's entirety as I experienced it. Solid 5 stars!

Don’t sleep on Bob’s Italian Beef which I think is a special on Sunday. Bobs Italian Beef sandwich is the best around. You also get homemade Giardinera which is out of this world. The Au Jus is so good.

Update Update! Cast Iron Tavern still amazing! Dinner was so delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly, hot chicken was fried hot and spicy just like it should be. Delicious food all around. The staff was as always super friendly and accommodating.

Update! Cast Iron has a new food menu and it is amazing. Such a pleasure. Everything off of the menu is delicious. Yes you do get great big portions of food and the burgers are gigantic.

Don't miss out on the delicious food! The beer selection is on point and service is outstanding! Cast Iron is a great place to take groups too. Cheers!

Absolutely loved our Sunday dinner at Cast Iron yesterday. The Salmon Risotto was my favorite delivering upscale flavor. We also really enjoyed the Blue Bacon chips, Pesto Deviled Eggs, and Veggie Pesto Mac. Service was very attentive and atmosphere was great. Sundays they have football on if you’re into that and their every day happy hour was a nice surprise!

No wait on a Sunday night. Food took a little bit to come out but it was worth the wait! I love that the drinks came out in mason jars.
