Yumi Sushi & Hibachi

Some of the best sushi we’ve had, and that includes Tokyo and many places in Okinawa! Some of the rolls are combinations that are unique, and this is the only place where the sushi plate does not include a California roll. There is just the one sushi chef, but he is very efficient and everyone’s orders come out either together or in a circle so it isn’t one person with all the food while everyone else waits.

Super friendly service. Great menu. Super fresh and tasty sushi. Highly recommended. May have to go back before we head back home.
Try the Salmon Tropical, amazing!!

I had never eaten here before so i was unsure at first but when I got my order I knew the sushi was about to be so delicious. I will definitely be a return customer. The tuna cake was my favorite. Especially with the mango sauce it came with. The other rolls are the Okinawa roll (right) and the chef special roll (left). Im just rlly excited to have a really good sushi place in Algiers. Definitely give this place a shot if you want great quality sushi for a great price.

Family oriented and a lively atmosphere! To create such a unique and creative meal is an amazing experience. You can customize any roll to your liking. We had a Valentine Roll with cream cheese which was stunning and delicious. I had the Okinawa roll as is. Both were beautifully plated and the chef is very nice; he puts love into each meal he creates. If you read this your kids were so cute and such great little helpers! The desserts were good too! We ordered the matcha mochi which tasted on point and a creamy cheesecake tempura (I didn't get a pic of that one, my b). I am also happy to announce that the previous owners (of Oishii) are fine and if you want to see the chef she works at Lil Tokyo! The family that owns Yumi are fun to be around and are a great addition to Algiers!

This place is amazing! They have a ton of sushi options. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and kind. The best sushi I've had since moving to LA. Thank you for this experience!

Yumi has a good variety of sushi restaurant classics, and some very fun, imaginative rolls. The Funky Margarita and Salmon Zest were unlike any other rolls I’ve had before, and everything was thoroughly enjoyable. The miso soup was better than I’ve had at other places.

Service was quick and attentive. We felt very welcome. I’m excited to have Yumi as a part of our neighborhood!

I am a regular here and I love the food, but my favorite thing about this restaurant is the stellar customer service. This is the only restaurant I can think of where I leave large tips to every employee every time I go just because I feel it's so deserved, and I'm not rich. My favorites are the Rock and Roll Sushi and the cooked Salmon Hibachi. Delicious!

New owners, new exciting rolls!

I was very excited to see a new sushi restaurant in the same space as the now closed Oiishi. Our waitress was very excited to serve us and the rolls were really fun and brought a smile to my face in a way that just doesn't happen with most food. The Margarita roll had GUACAMOLE on it!

Great variety of options on their menu. Friendly owners. Try the uni or salmon belly! I look forward to coming back and trying different dishes.

Food was great and fresh. Service for dine in was phenomenal, above an beyond many other local restaurants.

This place is a hidden gem. Definitely off the beaten track, but well worth the trip. One of those little "hole in the wall" sort of spots (but, immaculately clean) that are so often associated with good neighborhood sushi places in Japan.
If you're a real fan of sushi (especially nigiri and sashimi) just do yourself a favor and try this place. I'm glad I did.

Everyone was very nice as soon as I walked in, my to go order was on time and delicious. Convenient location to my house. Definitely will try again!!
Update: I tried for the 2nd time, and i don't know how, but it was better than the first time! The sushi was outstanding. Seriously this is the best in new Orleans, a must try!!!

This hidden gem is absolutely unbelievable! I would eat here everyday if I lived closer. The food is incredible but the owners make it an experience to remember. I wish I could give them 100 stars!!! Yumi is everything you could ask for and more!

They are very allergy conscious for diners with special dietary needs and just delightful! I enjoyed my gluten free sushi and will be back.
