I go here anytime I can convince myself to wake up before 2pm on a Saturday. You get to know the vendors. There's always music and tons of dogs. I went today even though I didn't want to buy anything, just because it's so lovely. Beautiful fruits and veggies, but also meats, dairy, mushrooms, flowers, bread, crafts. One of my favorite Portland thingies!

Fabulous farmer's market every Wednesday and Saturday! You can find seedlings, fresh produce, fresh cut flowers, and baked goods for sale. I always leave with something delicious! Parking can be tricky, so I recommend going on the earlier side to guarantee easy parking.

Spent a lovely morning walking along the path perusing the artisan stalls and the gorgeous-looking plants and other goodies. Very family friendly, lots of well-trained dogs walking with them. If you're around on a Saturday, it's a great activity to start your day.

Get the fresh baked bread!!! What are you even doing if you are not buying their home made $5 bread loaves? That’s barely more than Trader Joe’s and theirs is assembly line nonsense. $5 is a pretty good price for crazy good bread. You will regret nothing. Even other things in life - those regrets will fade away when you bite this bread. Trust.

Also, beet bundles for $3.50. That’s like ~30% of the Trader’s price, which was previously the cheapest I’d found anywhere. These are heirloom crazy beautiful beets.

Also cardamom blueberry jam, amaretto cherry jam, and peach bourbon jam. Those are spendier at $8-9/9 oz as of this weekend, but think about what it takes to grow a fruit tree then make some booze, then make some jam with those things combined, and design & print a cute little label, and a decorative bottle, and load and haul it in a truck to a pop up stand in the middle of Portland — and now pause from these calculations & eat some, if the fates allow —and you will start to see the light, I think, if economics permit such exquisite decadence. Jam lasts awhile. Skip a single Starbucks run or fast food run and you’re already in the same bracket in terms of cost.

But really, the bread dudes are cool. We saw them up in Damariscotta later that same day & they hollered. 😂 Then we got back home & ate the bread with said jam and have now doubled down on this being the best bread source.

As a visitor of Portland, Maine, I can confidently say that it is one of the most charming and beautiful cities in the United States. Located on the coast of Maine, Portland is known for its stunning views of the ocean, historic architecture, and vibrant culture. The city has a rich history that dates back to the 17th century, and it has played an important role in shaping the cultural and economic landscape of the region.

Portland has something for everyone, from foodies to outdoor enthusiasts. The city is famous for its fresh seafood, craft beer, and locally sourced ingredients, making it a culinary destination for food lovers. Additionally, Portland is home to numerous parks, beaches, and hiking trails, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. Whether you want to explore the historic Old Port district, take a stroll along the Eastern Promenade, or visit one of the many art galleries and museums, there is no shortage of things to see and do in Portland.

What I find particularly impressive about Portland is its strong sense of community and commitment to sustainability. The city has a thriving local economy, with a strong focus on supporting small businesses and promoting sustainable practices. From the numerous farmers' markets to the bike-sharing program, Portland is a city that values sustainability and environmental responsibility. As a visitor, I feel inspired and uplifted by the sense of community and dedication to sustainability that I see in Portland, and I can't wait to come back and explore more of this wonderful city.

I’ve been to many farmers markets throughout my years. New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine. This farmers market is the best around. The food, the prices, the vendors and even location. Everything is fabulous, I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys fresh picked fruits and veggies. Loads of organic choices. Love this place!!!

Such a beautiful setting under the tree lined parks at the university make the location an enjoyable, spacious way to get outdoors during Covid and shop the local fresh fruits and vegetables, food and fun. Friendly people and always amazing, yummy food for breakfast or lunch and produce to take home.

Great produce and other foods. I go in the spring for plants, and later in the season for seasonal vegetables and fruits. I also go to get honey, mushrooms, cheeses and breads. It’s really wonderful.
