We recently hired The Savory Spoon for a buffet style dinner for my mother-in-law’s 90th birthday. Even though it was a small gathering of 12, Cheri provided fancy serving pieces that didn’t make it feel like we were having dinner at home! Cheri and her team made an abundance of delicious comfort foods that everyone enjoyed tremendously! And let me tell you, we had leftovers for days, they do not skimp on portions! If you want to take the stress out of your next function, provide your guests with tasty food and deal with an over accommodating owner and staff, The Savory Spoon is who you should go to.

We recently had a wedding catered by Cheri, and she and her whole team were exceptional to work with! She was happy to accommodate whatever requests we had and our ~110 attendees were very well-fed. Once we told her what we needed, and selected a few decorations, she was entirely turnkey from there. We just showed up on the wedding day and the whole food table was already up and ready for us! In addition, she's a delightful person to get to know and we enjoyed some really nice conversation!

Also, I want to put in a note about her staff, who were great! They helped guide us through the reception process, giving us time frames for serving and thought of everything, even asking us about any elderly or other folks who needed or would appreciate help and directly assisting them. We were very impressed and highly recommend Savory Spoon!

When looking at who might be able to cater our intimate Wedding at Green Hill Farm, we reached out to a number of vendors to inquire about prices, menus, etc. After conversations with several, we agreed that Savory Spoon Catering seemed to be the best choice we could make.

Not only did each of the various menus presented sound delicious, the pricing was absolutely fair and far better than we were seeing with other vendors in and around our area.

After working with Cheri to settle on a menu for our event, we followed up with a tasting of several of the items we chose and found the dishes to be just as savory as we'd hoped. She stayed in touch with us throughout the planning process up to execution. She even contacted us a few days before the wedding asking if we would be interested in adjusting from Tilapia to Salmon or Steelhead at no additional charge as she was seeing great prices when sourcing ingredients!

On the day of the event, we were simply blown away by how wonderful everything looked and tasted! Cheri and her team had everything impeccably arranged, from appetizers to entrees. Our guests repeatedly asked who made the food, remarking on how great everything looked and tasted.

June 6th, the day of our wedding was an incredible and memorable day. This team is accommodating, professional and yet still personal. Savory Spoon delivered on everything they promised from taste to experience and so much more. If you are are considering them to cater your occassion, whatever it may be, this is one of those rare instances where you get so much more than what you are paying for.

The Savory Spoon catered a bridal shower for over 40 people in a relative's home in Frederick Maryland. The owner, Cheri was very easy to work with, not to mention patient and kind. She readily adjusted the menu to accommodate the bride's numerous food allergies. Everything went smoothly. The delivery was on time, set up was a breeze, and the arrangement looked beautiful. And, best of all, the food was delicious! And there was PLENTY of food for our hungry guests. Everyone raved about the chicken salad, the pasta salad and the cookies. I planned my daughter's bridal shower from SC and I'm so happy I found The Savory Spoon Catering to do the food. Cheri was very professional and obviously experienced. She provided suggestions based on my vision for the event and I felt at ease knowing that the food and drinks would be handled as planned. Everything had to be planned and sorted out long distance - Cheri was fabulous to work with! Our sons fiancée mother is gluten free - not a problem for savory spoon! All the appetizers were SO delish! The staff was wonderful - all appetizers were passed due to covid - the food was all beautiful and so professionally served! It gave the bride And groom an extra couple hours to visit with all their out of town guests so they could enjoy their own wedding. Everybody loved it. I highly recommend savory spoon! Cheri and her team worked diligently to make sure our wedding was a success. The food was delicious, and the catering service throughout the entire event was smooth.

I've been a little behind in getting to write reviews of all of my vendors for my recent wedding, but I'm so excited to have had the chance to work with Cheri. She and her staff were delightful, from start to finish.

My fiance and I wanted a wedding with heavy appetizers and drinks, since our reception was in the mid-afternoon. Cheri provided so many amazing options to choose from that the only hard part was picking which of dozens of delicious things we *wouldn't* go with.

Our guests loved the passed appetizers (all so good!) and the grilled cheese and tomato soup bar was incredible. While the food was amazing, I think the best part was having all of Cheri's suggestions for right amounts of food, pretty matching serving dishes and decor, and overall ideas about how to have the day go smoothly. I think that without all of her help and suggestions, I'd have been absolutely lost, and I really appreciate it!

I can not say enough how much I recommend Cheri Thompson and her amazing staff at Savory Spoon. We selected Cheri for my daughter’s wedding reception. Cheri was one of the easiest vendors to work with in planning this special event. We relaxed and knew we were is very capable hands once the difficult decision was made of which of her many menu items we would serve to our guests. During the reception you heard over and over many comments like how delicious the food was and often heard “this is the best food I have ever had at a wedding”. Cheri Thompson, her chef’s and the staff at Savory Spoon were incredible from the very beginning. We contacted the Savory Spoon after an issue with the catering from our venue. She was quick to jump in with us, going over menu ideas and coming up with a theme for the evening. We went for an initial consultant and tasting and immediately fell in love. Her demeanor and energy made an already delicious meal even better and we quickly booked her for our October 2016 wedding. She helped us create a special Cuban themed cocktail menu, even coming up with some new recipes for us! We wanted to try a family style dinner service, which we knew would be more complicated, but created a great environment at our reception. The family style didn’t scare Cheri and she jumped right in making it work out logistically. Our guest raved about how great the food was! Everything was delicious and fresh and tasted even better than our initial tasting. Cheri even let us pick through her collection of decorations to add a little extra flare to our ceremony site. Everything about our experience with Savory Spoon was amazing, we would highly recommend them again and again.

Savory Spoon Catering has been offering a 5 day, 2 course meal plan since the beginning of the pandemic. All food is prepared in their kitchen in Frederick and delivered to your home. All you have to do is heat dishes that are served warm.

Their food is fabulous. I’ve eaten at many fine dining restaurants and local diners best known for home style cooking. Cheri merges the best of both worlds which results in mouth-watering offerings that do not disappoint. I have yet to taste any of her food that I am not totally pleased with. I can’t wait till I have her food again. Absolutely the best overall variety and quality of food in the area for catering and home delivery. Did I mention it also taste great!!!!

We used Savory Spoon Catering for my bridal shower this past weekend and couldn’t be more satisfied. The food was amazing!! The presentation was beautiful, the food was fresh and delicious, and the deserts were to die for. Guests all raved about the food as well!

Cheri, Chef Erin and all the satff at The Savory Spoon made my 60th birthday an event I will always remember and cherish. Cheri's bubbly personality, attention to detail, and excellent listening skillls , made it very easy to plan a four course progressive buffett menu. Some of my guests, including myself, had various food allergies that needed to be addressed. Cheri was instrumental in finding a menu that could accomondate everyone's needs. On the day of the party, the catering staff was incredibly professional!!! I didn't have to lift a hand. They set up everything, maintained all the different courses, ensured that every need was taken care of and took care of cleaning up everything after the party. If you are looking for a catering company that is fun to work with, reasonable priced and makes fabulously delicious food, The Savory Spoon is the team to choose. I just completed a marketing event with a medical group, Savory Spoon did the catering. WONDERFUL! Everything was better than anticipated. The whole group thanked us profusely, and took all the leftovers. Each dish was carefully made, the quality is in the details..chicken was tender and full of flavor, the salad was beautiful and packed full, the potatoes had been roasted and tossed with a creamy sauce and fresh dill.. the brownies were simply perfect. Even the fruit salad - perfect proportions of each fruit. No skimping on any aspect of preparation or delivery. Thank you!! We will be scheduling again. HIGHLY recommend!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Super easy for us to have a private party for 50 catered, it was wonderful. Ordering food is à la carte, it was simple and pricing was obvious. They worked with the venue to setup the beautiful display, there were no glitches or detail decisions we had to make. One stop shopping, pleasant to deal with, quality food, smiling service from owner and staff, and best of all there were no surprises. Again, no surprises.

They served appetizers on trays, had heavier courses in chafing dishes, gave us the leftovers, and cleaned it all up. If you are looking to just pick the food and theme, and have someone with experience do the rest, then this is it. Many of the items they make themselves, so they are really something special to look at and to eat. Reasonable, no surprise pricing as well.

We provided the dessert and beverages. They provided food, staff, and premium paper products in the color we chose.

p.s. When your guests "wow" each time a new tray of appetizers starts to circulate you know it is good.
