The Quill

Sam is the consummate professional. The cleanliness of his shop and work area are impeccable! His artistic sense and use of color are nothing short of amazing. His skill as a professional tattooist is beyond his years. His ability to take an image, place it on the skin, and use finesse to create a true piece of artwork is a testament of tattooing being its own art form. I recommend Sam (and his sister Alyssa who is also an artist at The Quill) to all my friends, family, and anyone who asks about my artwork. If you are even considering a tattoo, absolutely go see Sam.

Sam was great to work with and his artwork incredible! He redid the coloring on my already done trumpet and I’m so happy with the whole process and how it healed so nicely. Definitely recommend and will be working with Sam again!

Built in an 1800's church, Sam Neer has created the best tattoo shop around. Everything about The Quill is professional, welcoming, and highlights the artistic talent of Sam. Sam is one of the nicest guys you can meet and you will have engaging, funny and overall fantastic conversations throughout the session. He's been creating art his whole life and that experience represents itself in his tattoos. Sam is able to create some of the most color intense tattoos I have ever seen. If you haven't already, go check out Sam's Instagram and look at what he is able to create. Sam will work with you to get you exactly what you want and will make it look better than you imagined. Sam Neer is the best tattoo artist around and you should book a tattoo with him as soon as you can.

Also in the studio is Allyssa, Sam's apprentice, and I will be booking a tattoo with her in the near future. I have not received a tattoo from Allyssa yet, but I know several people who have and they love what they have received. Once I get one, I'll come back here and update my review.

Sam is an amazing artist, his design was perfect. I have 5 granddaughters and wanted something to celebrate them. With a relatively small canvas, Sams design was perfect .Everyone that was there were very friendly .The gallery is very inviting, comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend the Quill to anyone who is thinking about a tattoo.

Sam is an amazing tattoo artist and so easy and comfortable to work with. The Quill is such a nice, calm, clean, and save environment. Constantly checking and making sure I was comfortable, needing any breaks, and just pleasant conversation. Absolutely recommend making an appointment. Such an amazing artist. He’s working on my coverup and can not wait till he is fished with it.

I had the best experience of getting a tattoo at The Quill. Allyssa was very professional and did a fantastic job on my tattoos. She answered all my questions before the appointment and went over the design I wanted till it was just the way I wanted it. It is a beautiful space and comfortable, clean place to get a tattoo. I recommend them highly and will go again.

Sam has done my entire sleeve. His unique creativity truly brought to life my vision. Just by giving him brief descriptions or photos he is able to design something completely outstanding. His professionalism and patience is outstanding and I’d highly recommend him to anyone .

This place is amazing! So far, I've gotten 2 tattoos so far from Sam and Allyssa and both were great. I have no complaints about the whole process and times being there and will be continuing to get my tattoos here!

The Quill is a shop I could not possibly recommend enough. Sam and Allyssa both do absolutely amazing work. The shop is super clean, has great vibes, and the atmosphere is great. It's always very comfortable and you feel right at home. I get compliments all the time on the ink I have. Sam does incredible color work and awesome designs, I've been seeing him for years. Allyssa has done some great pieces for me since she started at the Quilt and I will continue to see both of them for the majority of the work I get done in the future. If I could rate it higher I would, 10/10 would recommend, one of the best shops around, and in a super fun area!

I loved working with Sam so much. He did an AMAZING job bringing my thoughts to life!! The studio was such a safe space and I was completely comfortable the entire time. This is my favorite tattoo!! Sam was such a fun laid back artist to work with tattoo healed fast and had no problems. I gave him my ideas and pictures to work with and he came up with 2 ideas and we went with this ! absolutely in love with it.

The Quill is a great place to get a tattoo. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the shop is very clean! It’s located in a cute little town with several local shops and food places nearby.

I have worked with Sam for years! He’s really nice and he has always done a great job! This particular tattoo he did for me was a Mother’s Day tattoo in representation of my daughter. Sam does amazing work! His detailed shading and overall aesthetics can't be beat. He listened to my ideas, came up with a design, made adjustments as requested, and did a killer job! He is so incredibly easy to work with and took time to checkin weeks after my tattoos. His space is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. I won't go to anyone else.

WOW! Need I say more? I have been going to Sam for tattoos for a few years and I LOVE THEM ALL! His place in Mt. Vernon is quaint, clean and professional. Sam has always been very welcoming, when you come for a scheduled appointment or just when you stop by to say hello. You enter as a new customer, you leave as a FRIEND. He is a gifted artist with an eye for detail. Schedule early as he is booked out for months. That in itself should be a testament to his HIGH QUALITY work.

Sam does such an amazing job! These are my two tattoos that he has done! I love both of them and get compliments on them every single day! If you are looking to get a tattoo go to him you won’t regret it. He clearly loves what he does and he’s fantastic at it.

Sam is so incredibly gifted. You will not find a more relaxed atmosphere and kindhearted place to get a tattoo. His sister, Alyssa, is just as fantastic. Samuel is great. Down to earth dude and a great artist. I started with some script on my arm and it turned out great. We have a sleeve planned for later this year and I can’t wait. If you’re looking for an artist he’s your guy!
