Dancing Lion Chocolate

I stopped by this beautiful chocolate shop on my morning commute and I was treated like a regular by the staff. They were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and I can't wait to come back here.

I really recommend their traditional drinking chocolate and their matcha latte.

Had a visit for the "Truffle Tasting Shindig" and was wowed by what I learned and tasted. This was my second of hopefully many visits to the Dancing Lion. If you haven't been to this establishment, you probably haven't really tasted chocolate. I know I hadn't, but now my eyes are open to the possibilities about what chocolate can be. Thank you for the experience, Richard and Crew!

We had a European style dark hot chocolate to drink. It was Awesome! The staff is absolutely awesome also. We enjoyed their poetry books and chocolate art while visiting in the shop. Cheers!

I read about The Dancing Lion on line so I decided to go in to try the hot chocolate. I am so glad I did. The service was top notch, and the owner, Rich came out to say hello. The chocolate case is full of beautiful chocolate art too beautiful 😍 to eat. The hot chocolate was divine and so rich, the best hot chocolate I ever had. The energy here is full of light and love. They are MASTERS in their craft. You have to try this place, you will be glad you did.

This chocolate shop is unlike any I’ve ever been to. Their selections are few, and presented in a museum-case like display. At first glance it might look pompous and self-important, but once you get a taste of their products, it all starts to make sense.

They’re famous for their drinking chocolate, of which I got European style, with a bit of milk. I have to tell you, as I told the kind lady at the counter, that this was literally the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had in my life. The hot drinks are served in these quaint little ceramic bowls that you have to handle with delicate care with both hands, drinking as you would a warm bowl of soup, which only adds to the experience of this unique shop.

I bought a bar of chocolate (yuzu pineapple cacao) to take home, which was quite pricey, but I couldn’t help but be seduced by the promised flavor combination and the beautiful presentation that makes it look like abstract art. It was almost too precious to eat. But when I took a bite, I understood the price and the pride they take in their chocolates. This is light years beyond simple chocolate- the delicate flavors and even the textures of the smooth white chocolate contrasted with the crunchy geodes of sugar complete with the chewy dried fruits was such a complex and intriguing chocolate-eating experience.

I found myself craving the drinking chocolate the day after, and can’t wait to go back.

This is such a gem and it's honestly surprising that a place like this exists in Manchester. This is the highest tier, most spectacular chocolate I have ever had. I've been coming here for a couple of years now. The drinking chocolate is a must try. During summer they have done frappes and ice cream which are ridiculously good. But probably the most impressive are the bonbons. I highly recommend the "chocolate for 2" which includes an assortment of chocolate and bonbons and the drinking chocolate. Often the owner or an employee will come out to tell you about the ingredients and where they are sourced. It really gives you an appreciation for the differences between chocolates from different regions and the complexity of the flavors. This is the place to go for the highest quality chocolate!

Had the most exquisite cup of chocolate in my entire life. Having had chocolate drinks from London to Istanbul, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico. From Maine to San Francisco even, and from the finest chocolate companies nothing has ever compared to what I experienced today. A Mayan hot chocolate. I had to compliment the owner for absolutely the most amazing, delicious, aromatic compelling tasteful beverage I have ever experienced. Your taste buds will beg you to return as mine do.

This little chocolate store blew my expectations away. Upon entering we were greeted by the very friendly owner, who gave us a little chocolate tour. His passion flows non-stop throughout the entire shop, from top to bottom. Every single piece of chocolate was indeed like art; you can tell these guys put their heart and soul into everything they create. We ended up getting a few of the chocolate bars, a brownie, and the traditional hot chocolate, and they were all exquisite; definitely the best chcolate I've ever had in my life. I will absolutely be coming back, not just for the chocolate, but also the atmosphere and the hand crafted art pieces. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by, it's worth every penny.

I stopped by today and was devastated to see that they were closed because one of their employees was marrying George Clooney. But alas we are all human and deserve to go to such things. 1000/10 best chocolate ive ever had. Will be back on my next Saturday off <3

Beautiful art made of chocolate, and delicious too. I tried the homemade marshmallow covered with wight chocolate and it was wonderful! The design of the store is lovely, the employee and the owner were so nice, positive vibes, don't miss the place when you're in the area! 😊

I had the opportunity to visit Dancing Lion Chocolate Shop a few weeks ago while up in Manchester. Being from the Washington D.C. area, I have to say that this was by far one of the finest chocolate shops I’ve ever been too. Richard Tango-Lowy, the shop’s owner is one of the finest chocolatiers in the world. I a great conversation over the fascination of chocolate sculpture processes, which can be found all over the internet with Shaman, one of the chocolatiers under Richard’s apprenticeship, who greeted guests as they arrived that day. Each chocolate is hand crafted and one of a kind, so when they were out of small gift boxes, which I wanted to get my wife, they made one especially for me, with love and care. Every aspect of the shop is exquisite, even down to the nepalese boxes they use for their chocolates. Let’s not forget their single origin hot chocolate, which will make you feel warm and toasty on a cold winters day. If you’re ever in Manchester, NH, you should make sure to visit this incredible little gem.

Absolutely worth every penny. The chocolate chai is to die for, and the owner is such a pure, wholesome soul. I will definitely be coming back and sharing this special place with my friends!

I had a chocolate expresso and my sister had the mayan hot chocolate with spices. It was a great escape from the windy day and a nice experience overall. The shop is small and cozy, service was great and the chocolatier did a wonderful job at explaining their process and how meaningful chocolate is to them.
This was a bucket list thing for my sister, so I'm glad she got to try it and have such a nice experience.

Cute Chocolate shop. They don't repeat chocolate recipes so once it's gone, it's gone.

The Mayan hot chocolate and the White Hot chocolate was really good. The cups are super hot when you get it so you have to wait for it to cool a bit. Don't wait too long because once it cools, it gets cold fast.

I participated in a secret santa gift exchange and received chocolate from here. As someone who enjoys making and trying fancy chocolate, this blew me away. Each peice was a work of art.

The product was amazing and when I realized that it came from Richard's shop, I was elated! He is the chocolateir who inspired me to start making chocolate.

If you are looking to impress someone or don't know what to give as a gift, you can't go wrong with this chocolate.

The atmosphere is amazing, the chocolate is amazing, the people are amazing. I love how this little shop cares so much about where their ingredients and supplies come from.

In terms of the actual chocolate, it's delicious. We ordered the Mayan drinking chocolate and it was decadent. Not too spicy, not too sweet, it really let you focus on the quality of the chocolate.

I absolutely will be coming back.

The drinking chocolate is excellent and the chocolate they make here is just as much artwork as it is edible candy. The adjectives used to describe the chocolate can be a bit obtuse, but it’s designer, gourmet chocolate so if they want to call a piece of chocolate “spectacular,” “mysterious,” or “ambitious,” it seems fitting. I never ate a piece of chocolate more slowly as I tried to taste the notes of flavor in the chocolate. The blue chocolate bar we ate looked like a computer motherboard but tasted fantastic.

Quaint little chocolatier shop. Excellent hot drinking chocolate, regular or spicy! Owners are super sweet, place is clean, quiet, and the service is great! The chocolates are exquisite! Delightful to look at and scrumptious to eat. Highly recommend this small business.

I have no words. You have to experience this shop in person. Don’t look at photos, don’t read any other review, just go. Chocolate? The best I’ve ever had and changing everyday. Coffee? Of course, how can you have a chocolate shop and not have chocolates closest relative. Food? Visit their website because it varies. Today I had a Mallorca sandwich that was euphoric. A true labor of love fueled by passion and creativity. Richard is a chocolatier godsend, and has to be one of, if not, the best shop owners I’ve ever met. Go, enjoy, learn, and appreciate this gift.

I cannot rate this spot highly enough. Every aspect of it is a work of art. Make time for this. Get the Mayan Chocolate. Savor every single sip.
