Mr. Time Jamaican Food

Amazing food and pleasant team of people.
Mr. Time has a welcoming spirit and definitely takes his time to ensure everything is intact. Each time I ordered take out the food was fresh!
Several options for fresh juices, sodas, and water.
My favorite items from the menu are the beef patties, oxtails, Rasta pasta, and brown stew chicken! The jerk chicken is a hit of course! (Each time I’ve visited, I tried something different)
Each dish I’ve had taste very authentic!

I stopped by here to get the 5.99 lunch special on 10/4/23 at 12:30 but I decided to get the Lg Oxtail plate with a beef patty ($28). I would recommend them over Jamrock here in Riverdale. The gentleman was very friendly.
Oxtails - they were okay. I would prefer a little more cook time to really help with the tenderness. Some were more tender than other pieces. I also prefer more of a thicker and flavorful gravy (I’m a gravy gworl).

Cabbage - cooked perfectly to my liking. There was still some crunch in the vegetables with a slight kick. I did a pinch of salt to mines when I arrived home.

Beef patty - very tasty! If the dough was slightly crispier, I would’ve melted on this pavement.

I will be back to try the lunch special because it’s a great special.

I would still travel 45 minutes to have my oxtails at Sunshine Jamaica 🇯🇲

I would also like to mention that if you pay with a card a few additional charges apply. The menu list my oxtails plate $27 but the receipt has it as $28.08. The owner stated it was bc I used a card. I don’t like that each item gets a charge rather than 1 single charge. I’m the type of person that would only pay cash to save $2. But that’s just me.

I’ve been here several times since they’ve opened. I was iffy at first because they were so new and I didn’t want to waste my time and money but I’m so glad I gave them a try. The service is good, the food is so good, the prices are very reasonable especially for the quantity— you get a good amount of food. The rice and beans *chefs kiss* love love love. I’ve tried the brown stew, jerk chicken, oxtails, beef patties and Mac & Cheese and all of them taste good! I’ve come so often he knows my face lol! Def recommend! One of the best Jamaican spots I’ve had since moving to GA 5 years ago (and I’m from Miami, a melting pot of flavors and good food — so trust, I know good food)! Beef Patties could have a bit more meat in them but everything else is great!

Great service, the owner is so down to earth and welcoming. The food was delicious and well seasoned. I’m not big on Mac and cheese but theirs is FYE! I wish I would have ordered some cause I ate half of my wife’s. The jerk sauce is more savory than sweet (I like sweet) but still delicious! Good prices. I’ll def be back!

Now it's right next to the sketchy convenience store but the food is bussin. Will not be going back to fireside. The only thing is the jerk chicken was not spicy but the flavor was hitten. And the oxtail gravy that she put over the rice was good.

Mr. Time does it right. I got off the plane from AZ craving Jamaican food and I found Mr. Time. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. I had the Jerk Chicken with the rice and peas along with the jerk gravy. If you have not tried Mr. Time then you’re wasting your dime. 😋

I live across the street and kept passing this place up. I was so tired of the “Jamaican” food that Atlanta had to offer. I played it safe and got some jerk chicken, and it was AMAZING. The cook, the flavors, and the subtle hidden spice was welcoming and comforting. I’ll definitely be back Monday 🤣 I’d say tomorrow but they’re closed on Sunday

This little hidden gem is AMAZING! My coworkers and I went there for lunch and got the lunch specials great prices and the jerk and stew chicken was sooo good!! I would recommend this place to anyone! The guy there was, nice, genuine and just down to earth. 10 out of 10 Amazing Food!

Excellent!! We got the jerk and curry chicken. It was so good we were licking the sauce off our fingers. Rice and peas and cabbage were very good.

A brand new spot that just opened September 1st. First off, the service was A-1. I tried the jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage and mac and cheese. The food is amazingly flavorful and that rice and peas he was not playing with it. Will definitely be coming back especially when I don't feel like cooking and need that home cooked meal feel real quick. Got my eye on that salmon next time.

So I caught wind of this place when my boss came into work with food that smelled GOOD!
After I left work, I decided to check this place out to see their offerings. I'm a pescatarian so usually there isn't much on the menu for a guy like myself but I decided on the large Salmon. It was GOOD! Usually food that sits in warmer trays (especially fish) is dry but I was surprised how tender and seasoned the salmon was!
The cabbage was good and the rice was cooked perfectly.
The restaurant just opened on Sept 1st so there wasn't a huge crowd (yet) but I'm sure once word gets out, it's going to be a problem.
The natural juices that are served in the refrigerator are pretty good too. I'd definitely hit this up again as a lunchtime option or for dinner when I don't feel like cooking.

Went twice in one week. Good food, close to home, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended. I will be going back every week. Hope to see you there. Trust, you will not be disappointed.

Great food and service! Came here for lunch and dinner. I got the curry chicken lunch plate with white rice and cabbage & side of Mac. My fiancé got jerk chicken which was good with a chicken Pattie, It was delicious. For Dinner I got brown stew chicken with a vegetable Pattie. EVERYTHING was pretty darn good and not heavy on the stomach. I was full but not exhaustingly full. Healthy and very flavorful!

HANDS DOWN FAVORITE CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT! I work not too far from this restaurant so my dental team and I eat with Mr. Time a lot. For starters he is super professional and has alot of experience cooking Jamaican food. The food IS NOT overpowered with sugar or sauces that authentic food lovers tend to stay away from.😁 The food is perfectly seasoned and hydrated. He has a very healthy ethic of preparing food if you are watching your weight. The lunch special is most definitely the highlight of this restaurant. He has a young lady at the front sometimes and she prepared the plates well. If you are close and want some authentic Jamaican food this place is the best option for several miles of it's radius. I'm not sponsored by this place lol but u definitely come here at least 2-3xs a week! I'd give this place an A+

Had the Jerk Chicken. Lunch special is a dope deal, less than 9 bucks. And the food doesn't sit on you heavy. It feels and taste fresh and healthy.

My favorite is the chicken soup. Next up is the curry chicken. Always fresh. Always hot! The owner is always pleasant!

Amazing flavor in the jerk chicken and beef patty! Macaroni is a little pricey and does not come with lunch special, which is understandable. Will revisit to see if it’s worth the price.

Had a taste for something great , did a google search and stumbled upon this gem. I usually get a veggie plate when I visit Jamaican restaurants but I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried the oxtail plate and I was NOT disappointed. The food was amazing and flavorful and the service was nothing short of amazing . I was greeted with a smile and the owner was very pleasant . I’d definitely be back and would recommend them to those looking for excellent Jamaican food in the Riverdale Area.
