I love this campground. It's a beautiful small campground nestled in the trees in the canyon. It has 22 sites....several first come first serve and then there are reserved spaces. I don't recommend long trailers. One man had a lot of trouble parking his 20 footer. The parking spaces are not really designed for that. It's geared towards tent camping. The bathrooms have a vault toilet in them. Currently there is no water available in Fern Basin Campground due to issues with the tanks. However, water is available at Marion Mountain Campground just up from Fern Basin. I really love staying here. I had no cell signal with Metro and another lady had T-Mobile and no signal. Her friend had one with Verizon. Please enjoy the beauty of the campground and help by picking up your trash and putting it in the dumpster provided. At $10 a night, you can't beat it. Very relaxing and peaceful.

Beautiful campground. We would totally come here again. The water wasn't working, due to issues with the tank. Thankfully we took enough water, as we only stood one night. There was a lot to explore outside of camp and inside.

Campground is nice if small. There is water at most if not all sites. The bathrooms are basically portypottys and have no lights in the building so bring a headlamp. The sites are good sized. I did not see a bear warning until the trail so make sure you have a bear bag or something since there are no bear boxes.

Nice off the grid camp ground.
Parking pads and fire rings (when in season) Nice concrete picnic tables in flat areas.
The bathroom wasn't kept well when I was there, but hey... You're in the woods, dog a hole.

Great little campground with little privacy since the sites are almost on top of each other. For $10 a night its well worth it to get out of the city. Site number 6 is okay but there is a small hill you need to walk down in order to get to the site. I would go with number 7 since its one of the few where the site is literally right next to where you park your car.

It was my first time camping here and I loved it. Each location we saw was fairly sized and most spots had enough space for two vehicles. Each spot had a fire ring and most had built in grates for setting pots on. Some are a simple flip over type and others have a height adjustable kind.

There are no quiet hours enforced here so it may stay noisy later in the evening. Other campgrounds do enforce quiet hours but I'm not sure which those are.

Lovely shaded campsite. Lots of big pines, hills and good views. Bathrooms were vault toilets but surprisingly clean.

There are squirrels infected with plague, so uh, don't chase them.
