Yamato Japanese steak house

Everything I wanted and expected! The hibachi filet was delicious, and perfectly cooked. The seaweed salad was great, but just a little light on quantity; that said, it was only $4. I wish there was a larger one. (Maybe order two!)

Great place to eat if you’re in Scottsburg!

This restaurant was recommended to me by a local. I was shocked at how affordable the meals were (I’m used to $20+ a plate at Japanese steak houses in other states). At $14, I got a small soup and salad, rice, vegetables, and steak strips. The food was flavorful and the service was great. I recommend eating at this restaurant and will eat here again if I’m ever in the area.

I have ordered my food from there 5 times now and when I tell you the service was amazing believe it, them girls are the sweetest girls and the food that I have got was amazing hence why I have returned every time. If you have not tried them I highly recommend them. My favorite is the fillet mignon

The restaurants pretty inside. The Food was amazing and cooked to perfection. It's not too pricey. With my husband and I . we had an appetizer , he had Sushi and bento box and I had a steak grill. Cost us 50$. For the two of us. The food was well plated . I'd say the service was decent there were time like at check out where the people disappeared and no one was with the customer. So we had to wait on check out. But great place overall it was super quiet in here !

This restaurant is my far, the cleaness. Oriental Chinese type restaurant that I have ever been in. There are no Fingerprints anywhere. The tables are squeaky dry and the food was prepared nicely. I had the shrimp and I was a little disappointed internet. It wasn't the hibachi shrimp, but I believe I only got 4 shrimp and 3 of the rest. It's fried broccoli, fried pickle. That was in with the shrimp.
Otherwise it's a very good restaurant. Their sushi is very, very fresh. And?
They have good prices. Will be going up back often.

Finally; a place I can get quality Asian food in my hometown again. This location was at one point called "Oriental Inn" many moons ago, and the food was superb. My meal today was fantastic, the portions were generous, and the price is second to none.

My only criticism is this ; I will only eat sushi if I can have hot sake to go with it. This will complete the package, for me, and travelers who enjoy the same. I wanna try the sushi, but I am a creature of habit, if anything.

We ordered takeout from Yamato’s on the day of a snowstorm. They were very busy and told us before we placed our order it would take about an hour. It was ready right on time. The food was hot, delicious, and very fairly priced. We will definitely be ordering again!
