UHS Lab Services - Vestal

I have had blood work and X-rays at this lab, as have my 3 children, and have never had a bad experience. Everyone friendly, professional, and great at what they do!
Keep in mind that if you go in the morning, you will likely have a bit of a wait, as this is when those that have to have fasting blood work done need to come in. Late morning and early to mid-afternoon are usually quicker.

I arrived early on a Monday morning. check in was quick, pleasant & professional. I waited less than 5 minutes when my name was called. Again, I was greeted in a pleasant, professional manner. This was the "best" lab experience ever in my life. P.S. I asked if "fasting" patients were crabby & she smiled & said "no" because their coffee was in the car waiting for them. Thank You UHS Lab Staff.

I had my blood taken by Scotia Craver. She was outstanding! I have been told, my whole life, about how difficult it is to find a good vein on me; then they dig around with multiple attempts - ensuring a bad experience. However, Scotia had a quick, painless poke from the beginning. Less than one minute in total! I will ask for her specifically for any future blood work!!

I’ve been seeing the staff at the Vestal location for over 3 yrs. Sometimes weekly. Always professional, easy available parking, clean, and usually quick service. I like the cafe while waiting esp. Pike’s Peak coffee. They do not make appts. so don’t complain about waiting…(My preference for bloodwork- my NYC lab has same policy )They are going as fast as possible while providing one on one care and maintaining a very clean environment. It is a large open spacious waiting area ( you can sit in one of three areas- just let them know where you are if not immediately near call area)so you never feel too close to other people. So happy we have these healthcare angels in our community.

The Vestal lab always runs efficiently. Very short wait times even during busy times. All of the phlebotomist are professional.

The woman who took my blood was so kind and answered all my questions and didn't make me feel like a burden.

Came here allll the way from Deposit to be told it's a 45 minute wait and I need to come back during the week between 6 and 530. Strongly considering changing providers. Extremely inconvenient.

Registered no problem for blood work. 4 ahead of me. They all went. Others coming in i hear, bloodwork for all. After 4th of them went ahead i finally spoke up. " oh you had paper work. She putting in now" magically paperwork appears in box, minute later get called. Poor process!

So sitting in the packed waiting room during a pandemic with two octogenarians. No one taking temperatures at the door, hand sanitizer placed far away, not easy for anyone with physical limitations to access. Absolutely no social distancing and working with a population that would be at risk for complications with COVID. Appalling honestly. Went to a different lab and you could check in online and wait in your car until called. This is terrifying. If my parents had options we would have left immediately. (Will say they are calling people relatively quickly, but there should be a different system in place while waiting for necessary medical tests during a pandemic.

Waiting to check in for 30 mins and still going. They have one check in person and the same person checking in for 30 mins now. Long line forming.

Awful! Had to wait 1.5 hours to get simple bloodwork. Ridiculous - they had one person working at such a big place. Take appointments or get more people here.
