Backwater Cat Adventure Palm Coast

Our tour was amazing! The boats were a blast to cruise around on. The sunset tour was a perfect time of day with temperatures being perfect, beautiful sunsets, dolphins , sightseeing, and much more. David was an incredible tour guide
David and Jen were both very hospitable and helpful. We had originally booked for a few weeks prior however, the weather was not safe to be out on the water. They were so accommodating in rescheduling and very responsive. Thank you for an amazing experience!

We had such an amazing morning on the water…and got fantastic pics to prove it! David was extremely informative…from instructions on driving the boat to info on the area, he covered it all!! The backwater cat provides a thrilling ride, we especially loved sliding along the water! Not only did we enjoy the ride, we also learned of a few new parks in the area, a waterfront restaurant and some local lore. We highly recommend and will definitely be adding this to our list of things to share with company.

Dylan was our guide, driver, entertainer, arborist, marine biologist, ornithologist, manatee/dolphin spotter, local historical expert and now hopefully a friend for life. My wife and her friend were absolutely at ease with him and he was so laid back and comfortable to be around it made the experience even more awesome than we could have expected. Whatever y'all are paying him you need to triple it and then double that!..

We had the best time ever! These boats were so much fun to drive and the location is beautiful. Dave and Jen are the best tour guides. This is super experience for the whole family. I would definitely recommend it!

Took my daughters and my eldest daughter's friend out today. It was so much fun!

Things that were not entirely clear to me- The boat's maximum capacity is two. I thought we would be able to all ride together but when we arrived we saw that was not possible. It was fine since my daughter and her friend are both over 18. They quickly did the temporary voting license test online and we were able to get started.

Definitely watch the video that they email you on how to drive the boat beforehand. It is very informative and extremely helpful.

We did tip beforehand but I wish I had brought more cash to tip our guide especially once I discovered that we were occupying two boats instead of one.

You will get wet!!! Eyeglasses or sunglasses are highly recommended. You do have an awning to protect you from the sun but you should come sunscreened up. Your clothing and shoes will get wet. Sometimes very wet! 🤣

Driving the boat is very simple but it does take a little getting used to.

This was so much fun and the views are beautiful. Things can get bumpy so be careful holding on to your phone. They do have a dry box for you to keep your personal items in. It's decently roomy, but do take their advice and pack light.

Spring water is provided.

To sum up the adventure I just need to say amazing. Backwater Cat Adventure is a hidden gem. Our instructor was very informative and made us comfortable using the vessel. Everything went perfect. He shared some of the local history and showed us popular sights in the area. The weather was perfect and we got to see the dolphin playing in the river, it was fantastic. This was a perfect start for our anniversary. I have already recommended this adventure to friends and family. I'm also looking forward to another trip.

“Back Water-Cat Adventure”. It’s a great way to get out on the water and see the area. Boats are very stable, comfortable, easy to navigate and fun to operate. We will do again.
David was an excellent guide taking time to make sure we were safe and comfortable and understood everything. We loved the entire experience and saw lots of cool nature. David did a great job stopping to point out items of interest, especially the dolphins which we saw a LOT of. We had so much fun doing this!! We did the 1.25-hour tour and wished it was longer! We would without a doubt do it again and again. What a blast!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! We will definitely be bringing friends who visit us.

This was by FAR the very best experience we’ve had on a catboat.. David went above and beyond to make our anniversary special. We have been on other tours and this was the best. We saw dolphins 🐬…everything was so much fun.We will never forget this amazing experience. We will definitely be back. Thank you so very much.

We had the time of our lives. David is great! You will see dolphins,landmarks, beautiful backwater scenery. The boat trip is a blast. Do the two and a half hour trip.time flies cause your having a great time. We're coming back! David your the best! Thanks for a great time!

Some things you will never forget. Memorial Day my wife and I celebrated 7 years of marriage. Although they had planned on not taking anyone out due to traffic on the waterways, Jen and Dave made an exception for my wife and I and allowed us to schedule a sunset tour. What an absolute blessing they are!!! Top of the line watercraft, great views, and Dave is a SUPER FUN guide. We saw Dolphins up close and we had the BEST TIME. We travelled down from St. Augustine and will do it again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Had a great time with Dave on the sunset tour. Lived here for 30 years and saw things I have never seen before. So peaceful being on the water, taking in all of the sites, got to follow a few dolphins and see them up close.

Great instruction on driving the boat, got to do donuts and learned to drift on the water. Had a blast and recommend this to anyone reading this review. Going back with my family for sure.

Allen prepared us well for this 2 1/2 hour adventure that we wish had gone on much longer. From operation to safety he made us feel at ease and ready to go!
The scenery was spectacular and we floated amongst the largest pod of dolphins we’ve seen in one place. Plus the thrill of gliding across the intercoastal above sparkling blue green water.
The boats are clean and well-maintained and easy to operate even for the novice boater.
No doubt, it will become one of the best water adventure between Saint Augustine and Palm Coast.
I took my 11 year old grandson along and he thanked me at least 5 times.
Without question, we will be back.

We had so much fun on this excursion that we're thinking about purchasing one for the nearby rivers. Plus, the opportunity to watch the dolphins play was a delightful surprise! Witnessing three dolphins so close, just a stone's throw away, was absolutely amazing. It was incredibly cool!

Dave, Andy and Ava were amazing. We arrived and were warmly greeted right away. Dave gave us a detailed explanation of the boat, its operation and of all safety precautions. The excursion itself was beautiful; Dave made sure to point out landmarks and marine life on our ride; we saw dolphins and sea turtles!
Driving the boat is truly a blast. It was exhilarating and flat-out FUN! Dave gave us plenty of opportunity to get to know the boat, and even to "slide" with it! We chose the shorter tour, and by the end, vowed to be back for the longer one. Additionally, Ava documented the whole trip and we were sent the photos by email. We highly recommend this excursion. The crew was kind, friendly and informative. Try it, you will not be disappointed!

We had a fun day on the water with our adult kids. Dave was a great tour guide. He made sure we were comfortable maneuvering the boats. Jen was great to work with when we needed to make changes to our reservation. We’ll be back for sure!

6 members of PC meet up singles 55+ group took the cat adventure! It didn’t disappoint in fact, surpassed our expectations! The boats were so much fun! The day was perfect and Dillon, our guide kept us safe! The dolphins were 10’ from our crafts and put on a show with their baby dolphin! We are so happy that Backwater came to Palm Coast… The perfect adventure for anyone that enjoys a water adventure! We definitely will return! ❤🎈❤

Our group of 5 have had the best time today with Backwater Cat Adventure, and their guides Dylan and Andy!! If you haven’t gone out with these guys you are really missing out on a great time! Rates are reasonable, they make sure you feel comfortable navigating your 2-seater Cat, and safety is a priority. But so is having a great time!! I highly recommend this business!!

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Everything was perfect. The boat, the weather, and Dave was a fantastic instructor! He explained boat thoroughly and made you feel very comfortable before heading out. Highly recommend!! Will definitely go again👍🏻

The Palm Coast Backwater Cat Adventure was an awesome time for the whole family! Even without boating experience, our guide was able to give us a review of how to control the boats and gave us time to get comfortable before opening up the throttle, resulting in a thrilling ride over the wakes and small waves. We saw dolphins, a manatee, and Ft. Mantanzas as well as dozens of cool houses along the waterways. After a brief break on a sandbar, we headed back as the sun began to set. The kids raved about the ride and the adults had fun maneuvering the boats while taking in the scenery. We are including Backwater Cat Adventure in our list of recommended activities at our beach rental house and will definitely return for another tour soon.
