Yesterday we made a big order for a meeting with friends from Chicago. We ordered pilaf, samsa, lagman. All dishes are exceptionally tasty and fresh. The portions are large. We enjoyed it very much. Many thanks to the owner of the restaurant.

Tucked away in the little lanes of Mt Washington is this gem of a place that pops up almost out of nowhere in the heart of a homely neighborhood. Where do I start.. Ok.. so they have a separate vegetarian menu..that's one star right there! The dishes are a nice balance of truly authentic with a couple of fusion options thrown in like Pasta or Eurasian stroganoff. We started with the mushroom and potato Samsa, eggplant rolls and stuffed tomatoes. I would have given the place 5 stars right there! But we didn't stop there did we. My boyfriend and I proceeded to order the traditional Uzbek bread and the mushroom soup, because soups are apparently important in the Uzbek culinary experience. Both were fantastic, fresh and warmly soothing on a cold winter evening. And then we also tried the Manti, the stuffed dumplings. We couldn't decide if we wanted the pumpkin ones or the spinach ones and our waitress sweetly suggested bringing us a half plate one type and the other half of the other. Problem solved! I'd actually give them a couple of extra stars for the service if I could! Our waitress was so helpful, accommodative and efficient. The one think I wish they had on heir menu was vegetarian plaf! (A rice dish). But our waitress told us that all we had to do is to call ahead next time and they'd have it made! The overall experience was like dining in a warm, friendly Uzbek home! (Shoutout to the interesting interiors!) Here's a business that values its patrons and they've found a huge fan in me. Of course, I took some of the baklava home for a late night snack. Both my heart and tummy slept happy and satisfied last night!

Love the atmosphere and the decorations.
The food is authentic.
The service is very good.
I like that they served everything at one time.
I will definitely go back if we visit Pittsburgh again.

Kavsar is one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh! Always delicious, always friendly! The only thing that I can complain about is that we live too far away and can't just stop by for a dinner any time we want some good food.
And, as of special note, we have a little family tradition to order kids birthday cakes from Kavsar's owner (Tahmina) - they are just amazing and very creative, we always get tons of compliments from our guests!

The food here was very tasty and definitely had the feel of being in Central Asia. On my visit we had plov and manti. The manti was delicious, but the plov tasted a bit “American”. I think it could have been the seasoning in the meat, but overall it was pretty good. I also had samsa which was delicious. They were out of bellini so I can’t judge this but I hope they have it available on our next trip.

This wonderful unique restaurant, only a few blocks away from Mount Washington, serves up a variety of flavorful Uzbek and Russian food. Our large group (15) were given the private room. We started with the stuffed tomatoes, Tuzluma spiced cucumber salad, and homemade bread. Try the Plov with lamb, Lagman, Kavsar Salmon, Russian Cutlets, or the Gampan. They have a wide variety of vegetarian options.

We came for dinner. Ordered the eggplant roll, laghman, small bread, manti, and Russian honey Cake. The food was amazing. Dishes are flavorful and made me feel like we're eating in someone's home! I've not had Uzbek or Russian food before so don't have a reference point. But the food is delicious with lots of options, including vegetarian ones!

I wish I could speak of their dining room since it looks wonderful, but they only did take-out when I went. Regardless, the food is incredible and authentic. Can't wait to go back

Delicious Eastern European food cooked to order. Great and friendly service. $15-20/ person is enough for lunch or dinner.

Good food
Clean and Friendly environment
Nice decor with some cultural touch
Halal Meat!

I’m usually very picky about meat specially beef it has to be cooked perfectly but I never got disappointed at Kavsar they really know how to cook meat.
It just melts in your mouth. 😍

Also they do have separate parking for their customers which is very convenient.

AMAZING. They really helped us out with our party of 6 and the hostess was so wonderful. This is our second time ordering from here and we LOVE the food! The olivie and carrot salad was great, eggplant rolls were awesome - basically you can’t go wrong! OH and the “stuffed” tomatoes with cheese - OMG. Thank you!!

I'm from California and I usually go to my lovely Pittsburgh for holidays and sometime for work reasons. Last time that I've been to Kavsar in St. Patrick I was with two special american friends Kathy and John. We had a wonderful dinner tasting a lot of amazing things. Great food, maybe the best I've ever had, service is excellent(take out only) and the rice pilav is outstanding. No other words. I can't wait to go back again at Kavsar, a place where you can feel yourself a human!!!

Fun place to grab a bite. We ordered food to go and it was pretty good. The staff was friendly and the pricing was reasonable as well.
