Best dining experience on the island, fabulous food with wonderful flavors and aromas. Every dish I witnessed coming from the kitchen looked incredible. Melissa our server was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional and the atmosphere is relaxing. A really very good experience throughout .

Truly enjoyed the entire meal and the opportunity to support local restaurants as this beautiful island rebuilds. The lobster bisque was delicious, Brussels sprouts and focaccia exceptional, and all pasta meals were fantastic! Will definitely recommend and revisit.

We had a large group and walked in near closing, was pleasantly surprised we got full, attentive service and freshly cooked food. Most of us had a grouper dish, there are several, and all were delicious. Small and intimate.

After years of living in the area, we finally decided to check out Sunshine Cafe and Wine Bar on Captiva - and wow, am I glad I did! This place is a true gem that I had been missing out on. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but let me tell you, the food is absolutely worth every penny. The surf and turf? Excellent! And while I was initially a tad disappointed to discover they only serve wine and beer (a Smokey old fashioned would have been great), the wine selection didn’t disappoint. I let the waitress pick a red for me, and she hit it out of the park. If you’re on Captiva and looking for a dining experience that delivers on quality and flavor, Sunshine Cafe and Wine Bar is the spot. Can’t wait to go back!

If you missed the red snapper special here on Friday night you missed something very special! Blackened and on a bed of Parmesan risotto with a mango beurre blanc sauce….it was outstanding! The homemade buratta appetizer was also amazing! And our server, Melissa, was attentive, helpful and lots of fun! This restaurant should be on everyone’s list to eat at over and over again!

We have tried every restaurant on Sanibel, and this is our new favorite!! I had the Chilean sea bass topped with blue crab, my partner had the black and white truffle pasta dish…both incredibly delicious!. Kyle and Amy were great tag-team servers. Seating available at the bar, indoor tables, and outdoor tables. So good!!

From the moment I stepped onto the sun-kissed porch, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. The Ambiance is cozy and welcoming! Missy: A Shining Star: Let me introduce you to the heart of this establishment: Missy. She’s not just a server; she’s a magician who weaves hospitality into every interaction. Fresh catches, vibrant produce—it’s a seafood lover’s dream. I savored the Chilean Sea Bass, a masterpiece that melted on my tongue. Missy’s recommendation, of course. The Brussels Sprout appetizer with bacon and goat cheese? Divine. Sunshine’s wine selection is a treasure trove. Missy guided me to a French Rosé that danced with my meal. Her knowledge and enthusiasm elevated the experience. Highly recommend.

AMAZING MEAL!!!! Scallop Volcano App was a delicious amuse-bouche for two! Followed by the gorgonzola and caprese salads, then two amazing seafood dishes....chef kiss 😘😘 😘!!!! Cute decor! Great staff! We have been coming to Captiva for many years.....this is the best food on the island!!!!!!!

I adore this place after just my first visit. The staff could not have been nicer. They helped us find parking, sat us quickly without a reservation and just seemed to be very invested in giving everyone a great experience. Hope to go back soon. Oh, and if you are dining at night you can see so many stars in the sky! 💫

Best restaurant by far on captiva. We have come here three times in one week it's so delicious. If you don't eat here you are definitely missing out.

Good was very good! I didn’t quite expect that level based on the name and relaxed atmosphere. Service was also very friendly. We ate here several times during our stay.

Best fish I’ve ever had. And that’s saying something since my son owns a fishing lodge in Kodiak. The sunshine chef is a wizard.

Have been dining here for years and have adored every visit. Service and food are superb. Fish is cooked perfectly every single time and the chef serves plates with a delightful melody of vegetables. Doug and staff are attentive and genuine. Be sure to call or stop by and make a reservation during busy seasons as they fill up!

Also, please do not miss the chocolate fantasia. :)
