Hope Chest Resale Store

I had to submit a review after seeing the one star reviews they received. This place is one of the best thrift style stores in Cape Coral and one of the best I’ve ever went to anywhere. They have a clean store with a wide array of unique furniture, items, and Knick knacks. If you don’t know they are a non profit, so anyone complaining about pricing should really get over themselves as their pricing seems to be cheaper than goodwill. Give them a visit!

Volunteers were super friendly and the store was very organized. I found some really nice items for good prices!

Clean, well placed items are arranged and displayed with the shopper in mind. Prices are very reasonable. From furniture to clothing, small items and large, this is a fun place to shop.

This store moved from NORTH Fort Myers; the Hope Chest store in Daniels Crossing (plaza at the corner of Daniels and 6-Mile Cypress) is still there. The prices at this store appear to be a little higher than at the Daniels location. My main complaint is that the folks at Surfside need someone to work on their look: Displays are not particularly attractive or appealing, it feels and looks like a mid-range Goodwill. Daniels store is extremely welcoming and attractive, which encourages browsing and buying.

This used to be my favorite thrift store when it was in North Fort myers! Went in last weekend asked if they still have their sales and the lady told me no we're in Cape Coral now. Wow okay

I loved this thrift store once upon a time, but life is not a fairy tale. All the other negative reviews are correct about the absurd pricing. Since the relocation of this store, the prices are astronomically high. Goodwill has better pricing, and that’s not saying much considering you’re better off buying from Walmart at this point. No wonder our poor landfills are filling up. The thrift is supposed to be for those who are financially less-fortunate, both the benefactors and the consumers. What a shame.

I don’t understand the pricing in this store. Items available at Dollar Tree are $1.50? Opened craft paint (new cost $.89) is $1.50? Judging from all the reviews, you all need to reassess how you price items. I won’t be back.

Absolutely insane prices way too expensive. They should be making a lot of money for this great cause instead of people are walking out, not buying anything. Came in a couple of months ago and decided to give it another shot. I saw the same things sitting there still way overpriced. Sad

Told us we had 15 minuets to make last purchases over intercom and then when we were making our way up to pay then turned the lights out on us. We also had a 3 year old with us.

First and last time I go here. Obviously every item is researched on ebay and priced based on those listings. hey..if I want ebay prices I will shop ebay from the comfort of my home. Don't expect this to be a thrift store, because it is far from that. Prices here are laughable.

The price is ridiculously high for donated goods. Just for a small corner plant stand they have priced it $60 🙄

The prices are insanely high. I saw several people leave without a purchase. I don’t think I’ll be back.
