Texas Cafe

We stopped here while visiting family and loved this place! The food tastes homemade with quality ingredients. What's even better are the prices. We had a coffee, 2 tacos, one breakfast special, one bowl of oatmeal, toast and an omelet for $23.78. The location is in the historic part of Rio Grande City, so there's lots of interesting old buildings in a walking distance. This is definitely one of our favorite home town spots now.

This place has really good food and great service. The server we had was super nice and was open to talk and share personal attributes about herself. The only problem with the service was that it took them way to long to bring us menus. They even added in a free complimentary soup In with our meal. Which was REALLY good. Their menu was all really cheap and tasted really good. It had a huge tasty variety. The food was all portioned so well. For it being so cheap I'm surprised it was so good, and so much of it. My last complaint was is the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was a little different with a rusty sink spout and a really sticky floor. I loved the theme and design they had in their restaurant. It had a nice cozy old timey cottage feel. The room was perfectly lit and the servers were so nice. The whole place was really quiet and not busy at all. Big thanks to the cools and our waitress. You guys really did do a good job. I would definitely recommend going here!

Hadn’t been there in over 15 years and was just as I remembered it. But it was a good thing. Great food. Good prices. Would go again a lot sooner

Stopped on a drive through Rio Grande city, the food and the service were exceptional. Love the old cafe atmosphere, makes me feel like I stepped into another era. Will definitely stop in again.

The food is always delicious and the waitress are always very kind and attentive.

Get the Chicken Fried Steak! Very fresh! I love the old Texas memorabilia, gives it a lot of character. Ask for Becky, she'll tell you the history of the area and is very knowledgeable.

I had not been to this place in about 3 or 4 years. I really enjoyed my chicken Monterrey special. It was delicious. I will definitely gokn there again. Keep on being friendly. Blessings.

For being off the major roads. This place has very good food. Had cheeseburger and fries. Burger was juicy and perfectly cooked.
Place reminded me of a hometown cafe from late 70's early 80's.

If youre looking for great food at great prices look no further...Texas Cafe is one of the oldest and still going strong restaurant in Rio Grande City. Great food and Great service...what else could you ask for?
