Let me start by saying how thrilled I am with the service I received from Custom Fireplaces & More in Cookeville, TN. I had been struggling with my home propane fireplace for months - it just wasn't working right no matter what I tried. I was ready to give up on it altogether when a friend recommended I give Fran and Bob at Custom Fireplaces a call.

I'm so glad I took her advice! I spoke with Scott who was incredibly knowledgeable, took the time to understand the specific issues I was having, and assured me they could likely fix it. A few days later, I brought my fireplace in for Larry to take a look. He immediately identified the problem and had it repaired in no time…

I was amazed by Larry's expertise - it was like he could see right into the workings of the fireplace and knew just what needed adjusting. He provided great explanations along the way so I could understand what was happening under the hood, so to speak. Both Scott and Larry gave excellent customer service - very professional but also personable.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Custom Fireplaces. They clearly know these products inside and out. I feel like I learned a lot just from watching Larry work. We had a beautiful wood stove fireplace ordered and installed in our newly renovated office by this company and couldn't be happier! Alex and Joe, the installers, were very reassuring, friendly, kind, intelligent, and Fast! We really appreciated their work and positive attitudes as we had a hard time with other building issues that kept us from being able to schedule an install right away. Great service by Larry, their Service Tech. We have not been able to use our gas fireplace for almost 2 years. We found Custom Fireplaces and More, and they were able to help us. Larry is a very nice, dedicated and busy guy. He was still working when he arrived about 6:00 PM to fix our fireplace. He was headed out to fix another another fireplace when he left us. On the day that our old firebox was to be removed and the new firebox installed, Alex and Travis from Custom Fireplaces arrived at our door. These two guys quickly assessed the situation, evaluating just what was needed to do the necessary work, then after protecting our wood floors from any possible damage, they set to work. They removed the old unit, rerouted the gas line from one side of the box to the other, did some work on the chimney, then set in the new firebox. While on the roof at the chimney,
Alex and Travis determined that we needed a new "chase" which had to be specially made to fit our chimney. They took the measurements, then made certain with Seth that the chase was ordered. When the chase was ready, Alex and Travis, along with another Custom Fireplace guy, Joe, returned to complete the job. The guys put in the new chimney (this required a trip through the attic and up on the roof), installed the chase (which fit perfectly and snugly due to great measurement taking), and connected all the various parts together. They patiently explained how to use the remote control to turn on the fire logs, to adjust the flame level, to turn on the blower, and to turn on the lights. Finally, it was the moment we'd been waiting for....the flames came on and worked perfectly due to the excellent installation by Alex, Travis, and Joe. Before leaving, the guys cleaned up completely.

Larry & Janet we’re here today to check out (repair) our ancient gas heater(stove). We don’t know exactly how old it is but they cleaned the logs, the glass, put in a new part & we have heat again.

Even though I didn’t buy my fireplace from her, since I live in a different city, she spent almost an hour helping me troubleshoot my issues with my fireplace. Larry & Janet just got our ventfree fireplace up and going ,they diagnosed the problem had the part on there truck and replaced the parts.the fireplace works better than before.they even got the remote control working been 10+years since it worked. We have had our Hearthstone Manchester for a year and we love it! It is my centerpiece of the house. We burn year old seasoned wood and it is very efficient. The glass stays clear and the blower helps spread warmth throughout the house. It is more than we expected and Fran is always available for questions. We love it and Custom Fireplaces.

My gas fireplace would not turn on. Custom Fireplaces had excellent reviews, but the wait time to have Larry fix my fireplace was long (I live in rural area) I tried a few other places and they offered to come, but they wanted to do far more than what I needed, including climbing on my roof to check my chimney! Larry came out and in minutes had the fireplace working, cleaned it, installed a new remote and apologized he had to charge me drive time!!! Heck, I would have went and picked him up 😃. I would go nowhere else.

After a year of moving in my new home.. My fireplace blower finally works. After numerous calls to my contractor about the installation, finally Larry was sent to my house over 6 months ago and did not resolve my problem.

Just had Larry and Janet fix my fireplace. They were excellent. Unlike Volunteer Hearth & Home. My fireplace would stay lit and Volunteer could not come out for over a month. Custom was here in much less time. Thanks for your help with my fireplace

This is the second year I have had a fireplace cleaning and maintenance check. First Larry alone, then Larry and Janet, did the work needed and diagnosed problem parts that were then replaced.
