Punjab Groceries & Halal Meat

Widely stocked Indian and Pakistani food and spice/ masala store. Limited variety for fresh veggies but a great option especially if you are pressed for time. Parking is convenient on site and usually available in pm hours. Friendly staff. Amazing variety for biryani masalas and other dried spices in the last aisle by the counter. Most importantly, I like the cloth/ eco- bag options! Was happy to see reduction in plastic bags. Samosas are one of the best in the Baltimore area.

This place is small but mighty. They have a ton of spices, dairy products (towards the back), teas, sweets and other items, all for fair prices. The cloth bags at checkout are a sweet touch and the men working were kind. I went when I moved in to stock up on spices and things and I will be going back!

It's a big go-to for spices. By far the best spice selection, prices, and quantity in the city. I will never go to supermarkets and pay over priced spices in small containers as long as Punjab is around. Wonderful selection of Indian food, sauces, and ingredients. Plus they sell warm samosas to go at the counter! Yum!

This is amazing you can buy everything you need to make so many different opinions of Middle Eastern food and all of everything that I have either made from here or bought here has been so delicious 😋. I definitely would recommend all to shop here for all of the India and Pakistan food you love.

Punjab (Halal) is a fine, convenient, small, well-stocked, Indian/Pakistani store only steps from my home.
I rely on them for the British PG TIPS tea bags. Sweetened with honey, this tea is truly a hearty, flavorful tea to enjoy! Punjab stocks many brands of tea (in tea bag and loose forms) from fine tea companies around the world at reasonable prices!

Punjab also has many other fragrant Indian and Euro soaps, including henna and a choice of incense.
Punjab has Basmati rice and oil in medium to large sizes at very reasonable prices.

By request, chicken, lamb, & goat are custom-cut while you wait your order and are available for purchase. Indian spices are packaged in usable, sealed packages

Many days, homemade samosas are for sale which often freshly prepared and warm near the cashier's counter.
Pita & naan are fresh and reasonably priced

Some fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, spices, jarred Indian/Pakistani sauces and frozen entries are available. Preserves and jellies as well as packaged cakes, sweets, and unique treats are available.

In all, Punjab is a treasure to the Charles Village neighborhood.

Good collection of Indian goods. Also has a small section of Indian vegetables that you might not find in other supermarkets. There are also fresh Indian sweets like jalebis at the billing counter. Prices are high but within expectations.

After a bad experience with another racist Halal store in Baltimore, this place was a joy and filled my heart with happiness. You walk in and the employees and owners are extremely kind and accommodating. Mashallah. The meat is excellent and the store is very organized and clean. The prices are great also. I was able to find everything I needed and was happy to find Grape seed oil! The brother cutting the meat was awesome and very kind. He immediately acknowledged me when he turned around and I was able to get the meat cuts I enjoy and since I have been into Chef Ramsey, Tasty and really cooking fresh meals inshallah to help the wife, this is a key go-to place now. Great experience. Go!

This little neighborhood gem is the perfect complement to Big Grocery Store shopping. The extensive variety of nuts, seeds, spices, rices, flours, lentils, sauces, chutneys, and other ingredients are neatly organized and nicely priced. There’s also fresh produce and refrigerated and frozen ingredients and prepared foods. Halal chicken and lamb are available.The freshly baked samosas are delicious — and the Punjab carries many types of cookies and sweets, including Cadbury chocolates. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Parking is limited, so it’s best to park around the block on Barclay or another side street off of East 33rd.

So glad Punjab is in the neighborhood. Fully stocked, clean Indian/Pakistani/Middle Eastern grocery. GREAT prices on spices, rice, grains, cheeses/dairy. BEST carryout somosas in the area, CHEAP. The employees and the customers are all friendly.

I'm surprised by the bad reviews. The guy behind the counter is very friendly. He offered to help me find some spices and even looked in the back to check if they have it in stock. I'm a European/american guy and never had a problem there. People there are very friendly and I definitely recommend this store if you like Indian food. Now, of course, if you have an African/american type of "attitude" in the store, then they won't be friendly. But they are not racist as long as you don't push the boundaries.

We love this International grocery store. There is a large selection of fruits and vegetables as well as specialty items. The owners are really nice people. Fresh samosas are available every day.

Convenient halal butchery and supermarket. Variety of good quality halal meat processed to your liking. They also have a nice variety of prepackaged meat products. Great for dry goods, fresh produce is quite limited though. Very friendly staff and good service.

If you are a Desi person and craving some Desi food, do visit this place. You will find products from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh here. I frequently go there to buy fish, spices and some snack items such as Dosa, Samosa, Shami kabab, Halim etc. They sell halal meats as well. You can find sweets such as Laddu, Jalebi etc here. It's conveniently located in Hopkins campus. Highly recommend

Best Halal store, I go there by bus. The chicken and meat counter is amazing. As an Egyptian, I found variety of high quality food, bread and milk products.
