Awesome place to grab a bite! We had breakfast but have been here for lunch and dinner! I had the biscuits and gravy and it was yummy! I love their tuna sandwich for lunch before and it’s the best in the area! Their fish on Friday is fabulous! Prices are just as great as the food. And the portions are huge. Great value, great service and great food.

This is the type of place that your mother used to take you to 30 or 40 years ago in small towns where the cooks knew how to cook. My wife was astounded at the quality of the salmon lunch he had and I had for the second time the sliced roast beef over bread with gravy and mashed potatoes it was that good. The prices are reasonable for going out and they have a very good selection on the menu of other items as well as daily specials. I have to say the server was excellent as well these ladies work very hard and a tough environment. When we visit Englewood Florida again we are sure to come back five stars.

We discovered it on our trip through Florida. The food was very tasty and sufficient! Coffee and cola flowed without any problems! The recommendations were great. Lindy's service was just great, super friendly, and of course! Lindy was very helpful with questions about Engelwood, the community, etc. Thanks Lindy you helped us a lot! We will definitely come back !!😋🤩

I’m going to build up their rating here. We’ve been visiting all our local restaurants. Country Hound is definitely in our top 3 breakfast places in Englewood. Very fresh, good quality, legit Southern Breakfast. Great service and nice environment. Whomever low rated this? They’re off base ….

Great dive in my little town. Parents eat eat there every night. Also great spot for a not so expensive lunch or dinner. The food is so good but the daily specials are where it's at. But local dogs are posted on the wall and i notice new favorites every time i go.

OMG! This place has the BEST food. Huge portions and so many different menu options to choose from. I had tempura seafood platter and there was clams, scallops, shrimp and a huge fish fillet. It was so good! I also had the best coleslaw. The other diners at my table had fall off the bone ribs, baked white fish, delicious desserts. It was an amazing culinary experience for such a little, no offense,"hole in the wall" diner. I highly recommend you give it a try! I promise you won't be disappointed! Great service too!

OMG this place has fabulous food! My sister, brother in law and I just went there for dinner. We had ribs that fell off the bone, baked fish that melted in your mouth, tempura scallops, fish, clams all fried up crispy, delicious Cole slaw and fries. And fabulous desserts, carrot cake, and skillet peach cobbler with ice cream and whip cream. It was a ton of food for three people and so delicious. We had fantastic service and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend you give this place a try;

After trying several of the other diners in the area, we were quite impressed with Country Hound Cafe. Their seating was comfortable and we were seen to quickly.

The food was great. Their pancakes are some of the best I’ve had and my husband really enjoyed his skillet. Also, the home fries are top notch.

I highly recommend this place for a good breakfast!

The food here was incredible. None of us even touched the salt and pepper! The decor is adorable, and the creamer placed on little dog bowls was a cute touch. We'll be returning before our trip ends!

The food is great!! It’s cooked fresh. The waitstaff is very friendly and give great customer service!! I’m from Tennessee where “meat and 3’s” (basically cafes with country cooking, several meat choices and multiple sides) are everywhere. This is the closest to that. We have tried burgers, Multiple sandwiches,Country fried steak, meatloaf, ribs, breakfast items( loved the biscuits and gravy) and have loved everything. And great sweet tea!! We just moved to this area and we’ll probably become regulars at The Country Hound Cafe!!

Just ate here and I had the ceaser burger and fries and it was fantastic! All of the wait staff was super friendly and accommodating. Food came out very quickly and the place stayed busy. I wanted to order a 2nd burger plate but I was trying to be good. Prices are very reasonable and would definitely come again next time I want a fantastic burger.

Top comfort homefood in town! Best prime rib and ribs as well. The daily specials are always creative and yummy. And the extensive delicious breakfast, well you'll just have to come see for yourself. Thank you very much for the many years of great food.

Enjoyed breakfast here on 10/19/18. We have been to this restaurant many times over the last 2 years.. Breakfast, dinner. You name it and we've had it. Never been disappointed! The servers treat you very kindly. A Family restaurant kind of feel. If you love animals, you will love this place! It's apparent that the owners love animals as well. There are hundreds of photos that line the walls of dogs, cats, horses, etc. Lots with children that are so sweet. It's fun just sitting there enjoying all the photos. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any time of day!

Country Hound is our favorite place to eat! The owners and staff are ALWAYS AMAZING and so is the food! They go out of their way for each and every customer that walks through the door! I consider Cara and Lindy family because of the way they love my autistic son, Landon.

This place is very quaint and the menu options were abundant. We got the monte Cristo and reuben sandwiches. The food portions were large and neither of us could finish the sandwiches. Everything came out hot and fresh which was great. It is a down home neighborhood style restaurant around some very cool shops like the Suncoast humane society and goodwill so perfect for an afternoon lunch out after some great shopping options. Items were decently priced as well.

Pleasant down home atmosphere. Staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered the prime rib and burgundy meatloaf. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection. Both came with 2 sides and a soup or salad. We ordered onion rings as a side for both meals. A little surprised when we got the bill due to the upcharge. The server didn't mention that it wasn't considered a side and we were charged for 2 extra rings. We still would have ordered but it should be mentioned from the server. Other than that, she was very kind, very attentive. Even have my wife a tea refill in a to go cup.
We will definitely return to this gem of a restaurant.

A quaint little restaurant with a NY diner feel. Clean, friendly service, with a comfortable atmosphere. A nice place to bring the fam for a quiet dinner. We enjoy bringing little games and puzzles to work on together while we wait.

While the doggy decor may be distracting, the food is fresh, promptly served and always tasty. I recommend dining in, but they do excellent takeout too. I like their Rueben sandwich hot out of the kitchen, and we have never had a better cobbler. Cherry is my favorite, but whatever they serve is delicious.

I commend these folks for the great recovery after being devastated from hurricane Ian. They have some tinkering that needs to be done with the AC but the food's really good.
