Sunrise Cafe

A wonderful breakfast spot! Although this place is small, they can handle the constant flow of customers. The location itself feels very comforting and welcoming. They offer traditional breakfast along with some Mexican inspired dishes. My family enjoyed our meals, coffee and chia lattes. The service was excellent. For only two people working the tables, they are quick and accurate. Definitely come here when you’re in the area and wanting a nice hot breakfast.

Cute little cafe with good coffee and good comfort food. We sat on the patio by the road and service was very attentive. They offered a nice and clean high chair for my son. Note the kids menus are laminated, not for play.

My family decided to come here because we're visiting the aquarium and this cafe is open two hours before the aquarium. We found a good parking garage between locations on Foam street and just walked down. All the roads were easy to cross with our stroller, but the cafe jas a step to get inside so we didn't try to bring the stroller in and just used a patio table. I ordered a warm cafe mocha which came out in a cute mug and a healthy dose of whipped cream. It was cold outside so the mug was nice to hold until our food came. It tasted smooth and creamy, like a hot chocolate.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich with chichen apple sausage. They used a big link and sliced it in three parts for the sandwich. It came with seasoned potatoes and a little peice of fruit. All of our was quite tasty and presented well. I would recommend coming back!

This is a nice little place. There was no wait for 3 of us. The food was delicious and the prices were good. The customer service was quick.

Loved coming to Sunrise Cafe for breakfast on our way to the Monterey Aquarium. There were so many options to choose from and only two stomachs! We decided on the country omelette and the banana pecan pancakes. Both options were so so delicious, my gosh! The country omelette was bursting with mushrooms and sausages, and topped with gravy. Banana pecan pancakes were sooo fluffy and just a delight to eat! It was nice to get a refill on the corfee too. The only qualm that we had was one of two sourdough slices was not properly toasted.

We came on a Friday morning at around 9am and it wasn't crowded, but I can imagine it getting busier on the weekends. The interior is cozy and simple, very much at home.

First time at this local brunch spot and I really enjoyed the food! We ordered a benedict, huevos rancheros, and the fall special of pumpkin pancakes. I will definitely come back to try more of their food items!

What a great breakfast spot right near our hotel! Flavors were on point. We had the Pastrami Hash and the Mexican Benedict. So tasty! Staff was attentive and friendly. Nice clean atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Amazing food, service was great and quick. Awesome little spot for breakfast.

The waffles were amazing, I got it with the added fruit and whipped cream. All the fruit was perfect and fresh. I didn't realize there was a pad of butter in it and thought it was part of the whipped cream and shoveled it into my mouth which got a good laugh out of all of us.

Get the mocha! Best mocha ever.

This food was delicious! I ordered two eggs and oatmeal. They also gave me this delicious rye bread! Husband loved the Castroville omelet! Loved the friendly service too!

We got the breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich with breakfast potatoes and hash browns. All items were incredibly delicious and knocked my socks off. The restaurant isn't very big, but that allowed us to be very well taken care of with speedy and excellent service. Can't recommend this place enough!

Small Space but packs a spicy punch. The Huevos Ranchos w/ chorizo and jalapeños was yummy and spicy good. Paired with hot pepper sauce makes it even more delicious. The large guava juice was enough for 2 people. The food does take awhile to get to you but its worth the wait.

Warm, welcoming breakfast spot! Every food item we have tried here is amazing today we tried the BLT sandwich (a lunch item) and the veggie scramble. Both amazing!!

This place was pretty delicious. My entries group enjoyed their food. The restaurant is a bit small so it feels a bit cozy. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Love that there's a small, casual breakfast spot in this area of New Monterey. Also, I am so very grateful that they serve hash browns, which are all-too-rare across breakfast spots in Monterey. Lovely cappuccino, too - and the service was friendly, efficient. Pic doesn't do the breakfast full justice - definitely I'll return!

This adorable cafe has the best Belgian waffle I have ever had. This quaint place is dripping with sincere charm and a very welcoming atmosphere.

Just discovered this great place for breakfast. Great omelette and veggie scramble. The service was perfect friendly and efficient.

This place is a gem! Speedy service, friendly staff, and amazing food! I’ve tried a few breakfast spots in Monterey, but Sunrise Cafe has exceeded them all. I had the Belgian waffle combo and my partner had the French toast combo. Both meals were delicious and we will definitely be returning!

The best breakfast we had during our roadtrip in california. Delicous food made with love and not to expensive! And very important the staff is super friendly.
