I wanted to update my office and went straight back to Four Star flooring who installed my laminate 18 years ago. Family owned Buisness with superb service. Cathy helped me choose a great colour and her hubby John did the install. Highly recommend this great company!

We would highly recommend this company. John and Cathy at Four Star Flooring were very accommodating and easy to work with. We replaced all of the floors in our villa with vinyl flooring and the results are amazing! John's craftsmanship has immensely improved the look of our home!

John installed wood laminate on our stairs on May 26, 2022. My wife and I are very impressed with his expertise. The best wood flooring installation we have ever had. Stairs are very tricky. He used very high quality materials.
The price was very reasonable and there were no surprise add on charges.
We are very happy customers.

During the months of April and May, 2021, my wife and I had a very pleasant experience dealing with the people at Four Star Flooring in Cocoa, FL. The owners, John and Cathy are very professional and personable. We ordered a very large flooring purchase and installation job from them. John came out to our property the very next day to measure the job. After about 30 minutes of measuring, John wrote up an accurate written estimate on the spot. We didn't have to wait days for the estimated job costs. We still had at least three more weeks of new renovations to do, before we could ask Four Star to start the flooring job.

At the last minute, something came up on our side, and we needed to cancel the job for now. We had absolutely no problem from Four Star when we told them that we had to cancel the flooring job. They quickly refunded our job Deposit the very next day, less a re-stocking charge, which they have no control over.

There are Nine 1 Star and 2 Star Reviews, and Seven 5 Star Reviews.
We simply wonder if all Nine complaints are completely accurate, or are they exaggerated? We all know that by our human nature, it is probably ten times more likely for a customer to write a bad review, than to take the time to write a good review, when the job is done right.

Four Star Flooring has been in business for over 23 years. It would be impossible to stay in business for over 23 years, unless the vast majority of your customers are satisfied customers.

Four Star Flooring holds an A+ Rating Accreditation
from the Better Business Bureau - - - BBB.

Even though we have had only one encounter with Four Star, we just cannot believe that these Nine negative Reviews are totally accurate. Sometimes you will get some vocal customers that are just impossible to fully satisfy.

That is why it is so important for any business, to aggressively respond to all negative Reviews. But responding to negative Reviews can take a lot of time out of the busy workday, which a small shop cannot afford to waste.

We have learned first hand, that the owners of Four Star Flooring, John and Cathy, are good, honest and honorable people. Our first impression of John is that he is a Perfectionist, ( a bit on the quiet side ), and strives to do as close to a perfect job as he can do. Cathy does a fine job of running the store and she is extremely personable. Helping small, family-owned businesses, to remain in business, is good for the United States economy.

Please don't allow these nine negative Reviews to scare you away from trusting Four Star Flooring with your next flooring job. Don't count them out because of Google Reviews. Give them a chance. And when you get the good job you are entitled to, please, please take the time to sit down and write Four Star Flooring a good and honest Review.

Needless to say, my Review # 16 for Four Star Flooring,
is a totally unsolicited and honest Review.
I am not in the habit of writing Reviews, neither positive, nor negative.

Before April, 2021, my wife and I had no knowledge of John and Cathy,
the owners of Four Star Flooring.

We hired John about six years ago to redo floors that were very poorly done by another floor guy. John did an excellent job. Very professional and prompt. We were so happy with him that we are using him again to finish our brand new wood floors in our remodel.

I'm sorry, I don't know why people are complaining. John did an outstanding job on our floors. Eugene, I would like to know what was wrong with John's work.
I highly recommend Four Star!

We could not be happier with their work. John and his son are experienced and pay attention to details. They came to our rescue when another flooring company messed up our wooden floors. They had to sand over the previous contractors work, re-stain, and then apply 3 coats of polyurethane. All of this was done neatly, correctly, and making sure each coat was thoroughly dry before applying the next coat. Once they commit to the job, they are there and you can count on them to complete the job.

Great experience ordering carpet. We already had someone to do the installation and that wasn’t a problem. Carpet was in quickly and looks great!

Well, John's was the cheapest flooring estimate - and after the job, I think I know why. He works alone - and at times he appears to be in a rush - and quality of work is sacrificed! He scratched brand new flooring while moving the refrigerator by himself. Floor areas that should have been leveled first before installing floor - were NOT properly leveled! He recommended a Schluter transition and it looked really bad and had to be removed! He installed new toilet upon newly installed floor - but failed to install rubber gasket between tank and toilet - causing gushing leaks when toilet flushed! (And he charged me $30 for this sloppy job). Had to wait 2 weeks for him to come back and finish the job. He rushed the quarter-round job and failed to cut 45 degree corners where needed. He seemed to get an attitude when I pointed some of this out! Overall, I think he is too aggressive in scheduling jobs - causing him to rush - and cut corners - and sacrifice true quality. There are better flooring companies in the area. Sorry John - but you are too rushed and you don't pay attention to the details - where is the quality?
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM!

Four Star Flooring- customer beware!!!!
Contacted John & Cathy on 9 April 2021 to have our master bathroom remodeled. They gave us a fair estimate of the project. We came them a $2,500 deposit to get on his schedule. Due to several excuses and delays the project was started on 7 September 2021 and was partially completed 25 September. John and son left stating that once the countertops and shower glass was installed they would return. Due to the not getting a better heads from John we were not able to get this all accomplished until 23 November. As each contractor needed to fit us in their schedule. Plus the entrance to the shower was not level and John had to come out and fix it. Once entrance was leveled shower door was installed and cured we contacted Four Star Flooring. Due to COVID and his son having a hand accident he was not readily available but yet he was observed working in our neighborhood and my wife was finally able to get an answer from him. They were not able to come out until 8 February 2022 and then it still was not completed. There still about 8-9 items to complete this project. Several phone calls and no show promises we had had enough. Long story short on 23 February 22 we and John finally agreed that he was not going to finish this project so we requested him to bring all items we had paid for, give us an invoice showing ZERO/PAID IN FULL and we would hire another contractor to finish this project. Personally I would never hire or recommend Four Star Flooring to work on any project s as they are unreliable, will not return calls or show up to work when promised!! Again BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I have never had a worse experience with a business in my life. He gave us a price to refinish our hardwood floors, we agreed to the price, he showed up and sanded two days then never showed up again. He did go on 2 cruises in the meantime, but no work. We had to move in (live in a construction zone) and then get another company to redo what he started and finish it for us. It was a nightmare. Time for John to RETIRE!!!!!!!!

Over a year ago, Oct 2015, I signed a contract with Four Star Flooring for a floor to be put down. Three weeks later I went in the store to find out the status of my order. The office manager said she couldn't remember what I had ordered and just hadn't had the time to call me. I then showed her.
The floor didn't come in until January 2016. It was put down by the owner and his son. They were very kind and courteous. In Feb of 2016 I called and told them that the slats were beginning to separate and the office manager immediately asked me if I had gotten the floor wet. I told her no. She asked me to text her a picture of the problem with the floor.
When I was doing some cleaning, I noticed dents in my floor when I moved my furniture to clean. Again I called the store and asked the status if someone was going to come out and repair the floor and also asked about the dents. The office manager said she had never heard the floor having problems with dents and to text her a picture.
In July I took a person with me to speak to the office manager and she said your work order is right here and we have been so busy we have not had a chance to get to you but that she would have her husband call. He did not call. So I called and I said that if I didn't get a call that I was going to get legal assistance with this matter. Her husband called me within an hour and said he would be out on Sunday morning. He came and the first thing he complained about was my review I had written and how mean it was. I said I would take it down if he would get it fixed. He said he would have his son come out that week. The son never came.
During all this time, I had called, left messages with no return phone calls. I documented them all. I then sought the legal advice of an attorney and she wrote them a letter. Now we are coming up to the Christmas Holiday so I waited until after the holiday to see if they had responded to the attorney. She said no.
I thought about taking them to small claims court, but most likely they wouldn't have shown up there. I finally ran into a kind gentleman that also does flooring and he came over to look at my floor. Within 20 minutes, he had it repaired and it cost me only $35.00. He asked me who laid the floor.
I consider myself a Christian and I felt they had wronged me terribly. So the only way I felt I can deal with this in a professional manner is to write a review. I have spoken my peace. I want others to know the type of business that Four Star Flooring does. DO NOT expect them to come out and repair their work if something goes wrong so if you want to hire them, keep that in mind before you sign a contract. Nowhere on the contract does is say the guarantee their work

After hurricane Irma I had damage done to my living and dining floors. I brought some very nice hardwood floors that needed to be glued down. I went to the owner of Four Star Flooring John, and told him I have 300 square feet of flooring I needed to have laid down. He gave me a date of when he would be at my home. The night before my husband and I removed all the old flooring and had it ready for him to start in the morning , but the day came and went. He never showed. No phone call, nothing. I called and no one ever answers the phone so I went to the store and was told by John that something came up and he would be out the following Friday at 10 am. 10 am came, no John again. 11:30 he shows up.
He did not bring the glue he needed and became agitated when I told him that I wanted the hardwood under my baseboards. I did not want the quarter round put up against my baseboards. At that point he had to leave to get the correct glue, came back a while later. He removed brand new baseboards and started laying the floor. He finished the living room and the dining room and left without my husband even knowing that he was gone. Again I went back to the store and was told that he would be there Saturday morning to put the baseboards in. Well yes, Saturday came and went with no sign of John. John comes back Monday to put the baseboards in. I left a check in my kitchen for my husband to fill out, once John is completed with the baseboards. My husband is upstairs working, comes downstairs to find that John has left and he went into my kitchen and took the check off of my counter. John filled in my blank check, went into my kitchen which he had absolutely no business doing. John left his invoice on the counter for a total that was twice the price. He told me it would be 2 dollars a square foot but charged me 4 instead.
I come home and look at the floor and baseboards.
Brand new floors are covered in glue, he glued down a piece of wood that was broken, my brand new baseboards are completely ruined. He cut them, he broke them, he left nails sticking out. He nailed the broken pieces together and nailed them to the wall.
No wonder he stole the check and left before my husband came down to see his work. Knowing he would not have been paid for such a horrible job and certainly not at the price that he came up with. It has been three weeks now and I have been at that store numerous times calling numerous times which they never answer, to get him to come out here and replace this piece of wood that they put in broken. I get a different story every day that I speak to him and his wife Cathy. I will call you tomorrow to set up a time. I will call you next Monday to set up a time. His wife, I’ll have John call you. It’s been three weeks and still nothing. I found a reliable company to replace his damage , and to purchase all new baseboards once again. This has been a nightmare working with them. So save yourself some aggravation and definitely some money and hire a company that actually deserves to be called Four Star Flooring!

Horrible experience!! I had to cancel the job with my credit card in order to get them moving. They told me 2-weeks to start, and I was waiting 3 months. They finally did job and there was a problem they never fixed! (2016). Then, when I went back to them on a small bedroom where the carpet was bubbled after only 1.5 yrs, Cathy said her guys said it wasnt THEIR work. She accused me of having another company's bad carpet job stretched by them. Do not use them! They don't care!!!! Horrible!!! And she never calls you back!! No customer service!!
