I had my haircut by Chris. It is easily the best barbershop experience I have ever had! Chris is more than a barber, he is a hair artist. Top notch customer service, explained every step of the cut and I left with the best haircut I've had in the past 20 years.

Alexx is a consummate pro. His shop is cool and relaxed. I showed him a shot of what I wanted and he went to work. Dude was methodical and smooth as he hewed away my big head of hair. I am always a little nervous when I get a first cut from a new barber. Not with Alexx. He gave me a bottle of water, and cut my hair perfectly, matching the pic to my head shape. He even told me a little bit about the history of haircutting. Great experience, I'll definitely be going back.

If you like attention to detail and reliability, Alexx is your guy. I love that I can book appts via text and rely on a great haircut every time. He is a wizard with fades and beards. Treat yourself to a shave sometime.

After many years of trying barber after barber, I have found my barber. Alex has cut my hair for the past two years and nailed it cut after cut. I've gone through different styles, and he's worked with each kind I wanted then. If I ever have to move and need to find a new barber, finding someone at his skill level will be tough.

Alex is the best barber in LA, with very flexible hours and always cuts and styles your hair with perfection. If you’re looking for a talented barber that will make you walk away with a clean lineup and a fresh cut there’s no other. I commute from Hollywood to Pasadena just to get cut by Alex for About two years now.

Alexx is a true artist. He has been cutting my son's hair for a year now, and it looks great each time. His attention to detail is amazing, and we are always so pleased with the final cut. We get stopped all of the time and people ask who cuts his hair. I can't recommend him enough - not only is he an amazingly skillful barber, he is super patient and great with kids.

We’ve been going to The Chemist for a year or so. Alex is great! Friendly, easy to schedule haircuts, and fantastic with my 4 year old. My son also enjoyed getting his haircut from Jen today too! All around a great experience! I recommend The Chemist to anybody who wants a really good cut, a very reasonable price, and a great experience.

Alexx the Great has designed a first rate barbershop. He’s an artist, and a gentleman. You don’t need to consider any other shop, in my opinion. Give him a call to get scheduled and don’t be surprised if you need to wait a few days…because he’s good, and in demand.

I was curios about the name as I just moved to town recently, I was expecting to visit a few different locations to find a barber that fits my style. After the cut I got today i guess my search is over before it began.

Alex is pleasant and very passionate, never have I got a hair cut where such detail is applied to every hair follicle.

I'm a Pasadena native, but I just moved back here after a few years away, so I needed to find a new barber. I'd driven by Alexx's shop on Washington Blvd. a few times, and it looked like he had a pretty cool set up, so I gave him a call to ask for an appointment. Even though he was totally booked for the day (a good sign), he extended his day a bit to make time for a new customer like me (another good sign).

Right after we set up the appointment, he texted me the shop's address and a photo of the storefront, just to make sure I could find the place easily. Rarely have I seen someone give that level of attention to the customer's experience—and it made me feel like he would be giving that same level of care and attention to the cut itself.

That's exactly what happened: this was one of the best haircuts I've ever had! It's now been two weeks since, and I'm still really happy with how it looks. And there's no question I'll be going back for my second cut real soon.

Alexx was a great conversationalist, and a very nice guy in general - and he made sure I left his shop with exactly the hair cut I wanted. Very highly recommended!

I live nearby and would walk my dogs at night by Alex's shop. I walked by 4 or 5 times before i took a picture of the logo and looked his profile up on instagram (stalker mode). I'm all about barber loyalty so going to a new barber has always been scary or intimidating. However, my barber I was with for 6 + years has gotten so busy that he is out of town a lot. I had a birthday dinner coming up and needed a fresh cut. So I messaged Alex and he made room for me to come in. I was extremely impressed with his customer service and his client engagement. I felt comfortable, I felt like I could trust him. And so now I have a solid barber near me who is willing to make time for new clients. BTW, The fade and haircut was wonderful. 10 out of 10. Just the way I wanted it. Alex is very easy to communicate my hair style needs with lol. Hope this review helps someone looking for a new or local barber.

Alex is the man. You will not find a cooler shop, better music, nicer dude anywhere else. Best barber I've found anywhere in LA, hands down. Can't recommend a place more highly, been going here since I moved to Pasadena 2 years ago and my 3 year old goes too.

Side bonus it's right next to Carmela's ice cream shop and a tasty fish taco place...

I've gone through 4 or 5 barbers until I found my guy. Pride in ownership, professional interaction, interesting conversation, good music. He takes his time and you don't feel rushed. Very sensitive to covid protocols. Guy just gets it. Haircut crisp and he asks if we're heading in the right direction along the way. Love this guy. Booked out a week or two on the weekend at least. Can't just drop in and expect to get served. There's a reason his schedule is packed.
