Penzeys Spices

So. Many. Spices! They have such a wonderful selection of spices! Some are pre-made mixed spices, others are single ingredient spices. They have different kinds of vanilla and cinnamon as well. There are trial sized pouches of the mixed spices and small (1 oz) to large (3 oz) glass jars. I wish I lived here because I would definitely come back!

I can't BELIEVE I haven't been in here more often. This place has all kinds of stuff, but more importantly it has all different "forms" of it. Every time I walk in here I'm surprised again!

I use bay leaves a lot - this place has HUGE bay leaves. I love rosemary but I hate chewing on needles - they carry powdered rosemary. There's various levels of spicy pepper mixes, there's dozens of mixes they've designed in-house for tons of uses (and they tell you the recommendations on each jar) - oh, and super cool detail, almost all their spices come in little glass jars that, once opened, actually have spice lids inside so you don't have to buy shakers.

The staff is also really friendly, I've never needed to ask for a recommendation yet, but they always look like they're having fun at work and they've always asked if I needed help at all.

Oh, they also have GIFT BOXES - if you know anyone who's just moved, gotten married, etc, they have tons of different curated gift box options that span the range from like 20 bucks to a couple hundred. I'm really debating buying myself the biggest one partially because it comes with basically everything but also because I'm pretty sure it comes in a wooden crate, which is awesome.

The workers there are so friendly and helpful! Awesome selection too spices too.

My favorite place to restock my pantry. High quality herbs, spices, and blends. I live on Fox Point and so many other Penzey's products.

I'm always happy when I run out of something from here because it gives me an excuse to go back:) I love this place! I wouldn't make a soup without their Bay Leaves. Also, I made pickles for the first time this year using their Pickling Spice. They were a big hit!

Great spice shop that has almost anything you might be looking for. Also a great company that stands against bigotry, treason, and discrimination.

Would love to see longer hours on Sunday. Otherwise, a great place to shop for spices! Quality and freshness is always excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Prices are very fair - and in fact, if you have the jars and just buy the bulk bags, most prices are quite affordable (often beating what you'd pay for lower quality spices at the grocery store)!

Huge selection of spices. Always very fresh. Many house blended specialty spices and blends not to mention individual spices not available in your average grocery store. Prices reflect the high quality. Love their lemon spice mixes and extracts. Also nice range of sodium free spice blends. Great price and quality for vanilla beans also! Staff is always friendly. Store is located conveniently located in the Strip District near other food wholesale shops. Highly recommended!

They say that great ingredients makes great food, and they're right! As a baker, I LOVE using their Mexican Vanilla Extract whenever I get the chance. You can really taste the difference. It can be a little pricey, but it's worth it.

Top quality spices in a beautiful store! The store smells amazing when you walk in, and they have all of your basic spices plus fun combinations and very unusual spices. The workers are all very friendly and helpful, and I don't like to get my spices anywhere else. It is truly a delightful place!

I use Fine Herbs to create the best vegetable dip. Can't find it. Penzeys has it, of course. Store is set up nicely and items are easy to find. Check out is quick. Staff is very friendly, very efficient. I enjoyed my shopping here. Will definitely return.

Absolutely love this place! I buy their spices only all the time and I was thrilled to see that they had a physical location in Pittsburgh while I was visiting. I stock my cabinet with Penzeys Spices and I am a big fan of not only their quality products but the owner's stance on the importance of social justice, diversity and inclusion.

Love Penzey's. They sell nothing but dried herbs and spices. Their herb and spice blends are terrific. Everything smells so fresh and wonderful. (They have containers of most things so you can sample the aroma.) Service has always been friendly and store associates well informed. Parking in the Strip is a challenge though. I usually park quite far away and walk into the shopping area. There are lots, but many charge a day rate. Getting a spot on the street is challenging and you have to pay, but at least it's hourly.

By far the best spices you’ll ever find, aside from growing them yourself. A wide array of spices from many different cultures brings food to life. Clean and organized physical store with exceptional staff; trustworthy online shop. Great coupons and offers come regularly via email.

Penzeys is phenomenal. The spices are top notch, the customer service is above and beyond what the norm is, and their messages and promos aim to bring light where there is darkness in our lives. They are unapologetically political, which may or may not be for you. Slowly but surely, we will start filling our cabinet up with stuff from here.

As an aside, if you buy spices like paprika from the grocery store, you are sorely missing out. Buy a few small jars, try it out, and start loving your spices.
