United States Postal Service Reviews

Yes, you are correct. It DOES seem very silly to write a review for the Post Office. I received such great service that I am compelled to let them know how grateful I am. Delores & Moung went over and above the line of duty. It was tax day so you know the line was already out the door. [Let me back up and tell you that I drove down from Libertyville because the postal workers there are abysmal. They actually stopped processing my certified mailing at exactly 6:00 when their branch closes. Refused to ring me up for any more of the 42 mailers I prepared to their specifications and unceremoniously kicked me out.. So with 36 more mailers that needed to be post marked 4/18 I googled post offices and saw Mt Prospect is the only one within a 1 hr drive which is open past 6:00.] They cut the line off at exactly 7:00 and I was literally the last person in line. I didn't hold much hope of getting my Certified mailings out today but I had to try. It was 7:42 when I finally reached the counter. Delores and Moung got very wide eyed because they knew how long it would take to help me. They both then laughed to each other, rolled up their sleeves and began to divide and conquer the pile. at 8:07, over an hour after they were to go home, we finished the task and my mailer was paid for and post marked as required. I can't thank them enough for their hard work and dedication.

**To those who come on maps and leave negative reviews for this office I have 2 rebuttal comments. First; did you start with kindness? You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Second; please realize that staff have been shrinking since long before the Pandemic. If you want the Post Office to remain in business, then Stop ordering from places that don't ship via USPS. That goes for all brick & mortar operations. You can't lament the demise of in-person service while at the same time ordering from Amazon like some crazed cyber junkie.**

I love this post office! The ladies are always friendly, kind, and helpful. Delores went out of her way to help me the other day with the self service kiosk. Yes, sometimes the lines are long and you have to wait. It is not the fault of the workers if their office is busy. They take the time to help the customers with what they need. I always choose to go to this post office because of the friendly staff! :)

Not sure why there are so many 1 star reviews. I just dropped off 2 packages to ship outbound and Jacki who was running the front of the store took care of me within 2-3 minutes. She was very attentive and knew exactly what I was asking to do.

Keep up the great work!

I've been in this post office twice and Delores is always helpful and attentive. She has great customer service. I don't know how to send packages, I get flustered and confused because I want it to be delivered right, but Delores helped me step by step. She deserves a raise. I give her the 5 stars.

This review is for the USPS PO Box Service. I've had a PO Box there for years, and I've had to close the mailbox recently. Long story short, I've had to be out of town so it required me to coordinate things to close my mailbox and get the mail from the box. The woman running the PO box was not only very friendly but she was most reasonable and accommodating to my situation. Thank you!

I don't understand why there are many negative reviews. I've always received courteous and attentive service at this office, not just as a basic default but with sincere care and kindness. No bad attitudes. Maybe it has to do with the attitude some people approach with?

I have been going to the Mount Prospect P.O. for 40 years. I find the staff (ladies) really exceptional considering the intense (hundreds of customers) conditions they work under each day. The line is sometimes long, but it progresses at a steady pace. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, thorough and I never feel that I am being rushed - even though people are waiting. Customers in line chat, chuckle - although i have never convinced the line to break into song. I AM THANKFUL FOR THE USPS - WHICH IS THE FINEST IN THE WORLD.

I live in a neighboring town, and avoid my town's post office as often as I can. I visit the Mt. Prospect post office almost weekly. I find the staff there to be courteous and thorough. True, sometimes the line is long, but at least the service windows are open and the employees are efficient. I am happy to give this facility 5 stars!

Staff is always pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. Standing in line on one occasion, I encountered two people constantly complaining to each other. In conversation, I found out one was from Prospect Heights and one from Arlington Heights! No wonder our post office is so crowded!

We have one of the longest, if not THE longest, route in Mt, Prospect, In the 20 years I have lived here, our carriers have been at best, par. Until now!!! Two days ago I introduced myself to what I can only hope is our new carrier. I stopped my car and introduced myself, asking if he was in fact our new carrier. I told him that I had noticed that our mail was being delivered in a very timely manner. We sometimes do not get delivery until after 5. Anyway he told me that he was on this route for now, but was hoping that it would be permanent. I told him how nice it was to have a younger carrier, and one so friendly.

He told me his name was Chris, and I told him mine and we went on our our respective ways. When I took my mail out of my mail box, there was a very pleasant note from Chris thanking me for thanking him for his service thus far. He also said to say hello when I see him. I was absolutely shocked, Again, in my 20 years at this address, my carriers have never said hello let alone telling me their name or leaving a note.

Much to my delight, I saw him the next day at Busse Car Wash and he again was very pleasant and said hello. This is the type of mail carrier we need. Please keep him and most of all, let him stay on our route. Your department needs some young blood- as evidenced by the rest of the posts on this site!!

Kathy went above and beyond her job to help my family get passports. The nicest, most polite, helpful USPS staff I have ever encountered! They need to come train 62236 how to be a real post office! Mt. Prospect is the best!

The ladies of this post office totally saved me. I accidentally dropped a pre-paid UPS package in their lobby drop box, realized my mistake a full week later, and they very kindly were able to re-locate my package for me so I could drop it off with the right carrier. They saved me from a lot of hassle and costly replacement fees, and absolutely delivered (pun intended).
