The Historic Depot Restaurant

Dam good burger, the smash and spicy pickle sauce awesome. Deep fried ice cream was best I have had. Place was super busy for 4th and took awhile but worth it! Waitstaff was very nice.

This is a great place to eat! The staff is WONDERFUL and the food is perfect. The steaks we order were cooked to the perfection without any complaints. Got to see the chef, chef Greg, who was very please to see everything on our plates gone. The meal was THAT great. It was great to compliment him personally and see the smile from him AND the staff. I so highly recommend anyone and everyone to eat here. I promise you won't be disappointed. The bill was low enough to tip very generously. That you chef Greg and staff for an awesome time.

Wow! Such a cool, neat & nostalgic restaurant! Alot of history in there! I really like the old pictures from when it first opened over 100yrs ago I believe. The food is a little pricey but again it's a tourist island so it's to be expected I guess. The burgers we ordered were delicious but could have definitely used some more bbq sauce an the waitress we had didn't come back to our table but just once but other than that it's definitely worth a trip to stop an check it out.. specially if your a train enthusiast!

Nice atmosphere great beer choices at least 16 on tap to choose from. Lively band and good friendly service. Didn't try any food but smelled great!

We did not have the negative experience that everyone has said in their review. I had the chicken bacon and ranch wrap with fries and it was so flavorful and delicious. My husband got the fried whitefish and fries and it was perfectly cooked. The soft pretzels with beer cheese were really good too! The portions were huge. Yes expensive, but it's a tourist city! Our waitress was Althea and she was attentive and sweet. Don't let the reviews deter you.

With lines out the door for keyhole and The Dixie, we went to The Depot instead, and we are so glad we did! We sat at the bar and had a tequila sunrise which was yummy. Then we split an order of beef nachos and we couldn't finish it all! Not because we didn't want to, it was delicious, but because we also ordered wings which were juicy AND crispy!! We had 1/2 parmasan and 1/2 sweet chili. 🤤 honestly couldn't wait to get home to eat our left overs 😅. The server was nice and we got everything we wanted!! Win win!

Stopped for a quick lunch on a business trip. The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious, the portions were filling. We live in a town that also has a historic train depot restaurant. It was cool to see the similarities and differences between the two.

We can not thank Maria and her amazing crew at the Depot for all the efforts and being on top of their game. The depot was supposed to be hosting my daughter’s graduation party at the Depot Restaurant and a district softball tournament got rescheduled and let’s say we threw them a BIG curve ball and without a blink of the eye, Maria said ok let’s do this and the team there pulled together in a minutes notice and made her graduation party possible. The food was great and everyone was complimenting how good it was. So yes I’d absolutely recommend The Depot to anyone, the staff was friendly and offered up a hug to a mom boarding tears!

Amazing food. Dog friendly on the patio. The draft beers are great. The waitstaff is super nice and very friendly. Onlt thing they need is more drink menus.

Happened upon this place on a Family trip to the UP with 9 people and 5 dogs. We were given seats outside on the back covered patio, which was perfect. Our waiter promptly brought multiple bowls of water for the dogs. After taking our order, he then returned with treats for all of the dogs. The people food was very good and quick. During our meal, multiple employees came out to see our dogs and all were very courtious & polite. We had a great time! I highly recommend the Historic Depot restaurant!

Great service good prices and kid friendly, when we came in the next day there was only one server and 4 other tables came in right after we did she ran around trying to get everyone's drinks and orders at once. I told her not to worry about us and to breath. She did a great job will definitely go back again before leaving Mackinaw city

Food was absolutely delicious! everything was prepared perfectly! I have been here every year and always very satisfied. Staff very polite and professional. Highly recommend if your in Mackinaw City!!

The food is amazing, the employees are very nice, and have two areas to eat. The first is the inside which is like most places tables and a small bar, the other is outside which again like most outdoor eating areas is tables and chairs. They have a menu outside that you can look at to see if you want anything. I plan on going again next time I'm in the area

Fantastic fresh whitefish basket. The fish was fresh and the french fries were the best we've had in ages. Definitely will come back here!

Awesome place to go to in the late spring around memorial day weekend. Jeff is a awesome guy. He treats us well every time we go there. Can't wait to go here may 2018.
