This post office needs 24 hour PO Box! The hours are very inconvenient to pick up my mail, although the staff is quite friendly.

They need to fix the broken door, it's been broken for quite a while.

Fairhaven could and should be the quintessential cozy Southern New England town. But this post office is poorly kept and has no joy. Which is absurd, since it's a very nice looking building. There's absolutely no reason for a front door that has been broken for three years. I suggest appointing a new postmaster for this location.

I wanted to pay for & apply tracking to a letter with no signature required upon delivery. I was told by window woman 9/19/22 around 11AM, that, I had to have a signature requirement upon delivery, with tracking, which I did not want. She insisted that I had to buy Priority Mail delivery, to opt out of the signature requirement in Tracking, which was $8.95. Tracking service is $4.00.

I just looked online to see if this is true and I could not find this to be true. She lost some $$, bc, I did not want to pay $8.95 for a no signature requirement and just wanted to be able to know when it was delivered. Nothing more. She just cost the company $$$ and next time I want to send a tracking for delivery, I am going to print out where it says, I don't have to pay extra to not have a signature requirement. I am shocked at her, prior to that she has been fine.

Second day in a row of the failure of the Postal Service in Fairhaven. Like most Americans currently I do a lot of online shopping. Previously and until very recently I have had no issues with packages left in front of my door. I received yesterday a poorly-written package will be available for pickup at the post office. I work a full-time job 5 days a week during the exact hours of the post office. I was hoping that by coming in late for work I could have picked up the package which I paid for already. The very nice young woman said that the package was still on the truck. I had complained to her and related exactly to her that the package should be left on my door step. She wrote down what I had said and got my number. For the second day in a row the carrier had decided do not deliver my package. They are holding it and I did not receive the slip to pick it up. Mail carrier decided to not be a professional and to fill out another one. So I'm not even sure if I will be able to even pick up the package which I already paid for and I'm not sure if Amazon will be able to work with me to get new ones. I'm not even sure I want to trust the United States Postal Service in this area. They seem to have hired someone I was incapable of doing their job and at this moment not being heard when I specifically said three times to have that mail carrier put it on my doorstep as a consumer I was not listen to. There are many reasons why the United States Postal Service has been failing and the past many years. This is a quintessential issue. Why are more and more people using other sources than the United States Postal Service... This is a prime example. If I could easily have my mail be delivered from another carrier I would.

This office makes up its own rules as it goes. It is a shining example of why the US postal service is failing. Not allowing customers to pick up packages with their names on it and then returning to sender, perishable items that will not be refunded

They are NEVER helpful at this location..they are rude and don't give proper instructions to people who are not familiar with how to send their packages.
