I had Jeff work with a rescue dog that needed a lot of work. I sent her for training for a month I have had her back for 4 months and she is absolutely incredible. She was terrified of men and terrified of life. When I picked her up she was a very confident and happy puppy. Jeff made having a puppy easy for me. She's with me right now with someone that had a very serious surgery and she has behaved so wonderfully I am so grateful to have had the chance to have her in his training program. His prices are absolutely worth the lifetime of happiness with your dog. I will never send mine to another trainer after having her with him

I absolutely recommend Jeff. He knows what he is doing. I will be going back for my future puppy, He is straightforward Man that has years of experience.

Jeff saved my dog, my brown lab wouldn’t bring back a single bird, sent him to Jeff for over 4 months on an off, my dog is a changed dog has retrieved many birds and won’t hesitate to pick up any birds he loves it, I appreciate Jeff so much, what a great experience with him, will continue to go back and do updating sessions

Jeff is amazing. He trained my 2 shihpoos at different times. Both times were nothing short of amazing. Had he not helped us the first time we wouldn’t have even considered getting another pup. Jeff came to me highly recommend by several other ppl. We are so thankful to have found him. Without his training im positive we would have rehomed our first pup and never gotten the 2nd. We brought our 6-month-old pup to Jeff for obedience and hunting training in September. He was recommended to us by our friends who also brought their dog to him for training and boarding. I am truly amazed at the work Jeff did! Our pup knows multiple commands, how to walk on a leash without pulling, how to retrieve birds and drop them on command, and so much more! He is still a crazy puppy at times, but he knows when we mean business and its time to calm down and listen; and I thank Jeff for teaching him that!

We were recommended to Jeff by a friend of ours who had their dogs trained and boarded with Jeff. We've been bringing our dog to Jeff since she was a puppy. We have gotten our dog trained and use Jeff frequently for boarding. We've had nothing but fantastic experiences using Jeff from training to boarding to recommending the best food to feed your pup.

When we picked up our dog from training, she was leash, e-collar, and house trained along with knowing the basics every dog should know. We chose not to go as far as the hunting training Jeff provides but have heard only positive reviews from our friends who have had their dogs trained as hunting dogs through him.

Every time we take our dog back to Jeff for boarding, she gets a little training tune-up and comes back better than when we dropped her off.

I have used Jeff to train two dogs and board them for the last 18 years. My dogs love staying at Elk River Kennel. Both dogs immediately run to greet Jeff upon arrival. I have used Jeff for both hunting and obedience training. His training is truly remarkable with the dogs enjoying the process. You will not find a better trainer or boarding facility.

We had a fantastic time with Jeff and Elk River Kennels. Our dog came back well trained and more healthy than ever. Jeff was very patient with our high strung pup and we are very impressed with the training our dog received. Highly recommend for obedience and bird training.

Since negativity goes viral, I’m hoping some positivity might do the same.

This is Bogey, our 8month old GWPGriff. He just came back home from 4 weeks of training, just as spirited as the day we took him.

Days before we were set to bring him, a post went viral accusing the trainer of abuse and neglect. I’ll be honest in saying that we almost pulled him. However, we decided to go against the cancel culture that’s so prevalent these days and stick with the word of many others whom love & recommend him. We brought him that Monday ... I didn’t feel anxious about his safety once while he was gone. If you know me, that’s sort of unheard of. I had peace the entire time!

People disagree on how others drive, Pepsi or Coke, sports teams, discipline methods.... and dog training. You’ll never ever please everyone. Just like each kid thrives on different modes of discipline, every dog wont thrive on one type of training. There are also risks associated with basically everything you do- you drive, you could crash. Your dogs outside, they could eat something that makes them sick.

At the end of the day, that viral post was a massive story of he said she said. Maybe that situation wasn’t handled the best by the trainer. Maybe it was. None of us can really judge as we weren’t there to collect an unbiased opinion.

I’m here to say that, Elk River Kennel did a fantastic job with our pup. Our goofy griff is still a goofy griff, he’s just finally obedient! Jeff in all his loud, quirky & smoke filled glory is worth every penny!!

You don’t have to agree. We won’t all agree. However, I do hope that this man starts to get more people coming forward with rave reviews than he gets cancellations & death threats. I’m glad we didn’t pull our pup off one post from someone I don’t know. If you got a pup during quarantine, highly recommend Elk River Kennels for training!!

Elk River Kennels has provided our labs with the best training and best care (boarding) we could have asked for. I have nothing but respect for Jeff and his techniques and training strategies. We have recommended him time after time for training and boarding.
