The Pottery Works

I have been going here to paint pottery for years and the staff has always been super helpful and pleasant. I recently had my daughter’s birthday party here and they did not disappoint. They were super accommodating and helpful with the kids, most of whom have never painted pottery before. I’m so happy to share this experience that I have always enjoyed with another generation. Pottery Works has always been a staple on fun things to do in Lancaster City and I always feel good supporting small businesses. I love their sister stores, The Beadwork’s and The Gem Den equally as much. 😊

I love this place!! So many great choices and colors to choose from! Every time I go, I find more wonderful things to paint! It keeps me coming back!!

So fun! We were a walk in on a Friday and the staff were so so nice and helpful! I love that they will ship your finished product to you if you aren't local. They will also let you leave and come back to finish your project, if you are on a time crunch for some reason. We were worried about our dinner reservation, but ended up finishing. Shipping was so quick as well, less then a week but I know it can take up to a couple weeks depending on your location. Will definitely return!

This place is so cool! 🤩They have a lot of choices of pottery to choose from, and all colors of paints. Also,Staff are so friendly.

This has to be one of my favorite places. A group of us go every week and it is always a highlight the week for me. Great atmosphere, andlots of cool stuff. I mean...do youbhave a Llama piñata taco holder??? You could, just come out here!

I’ve painted so many cute items here at The Pottery Works and it’s such a fun place to go with friends! This is such a cozy spot for a rainy day activity in Lancaster🥰

My friend and I have been wanting to go here for a while since she discovered it after moving to Lancaster and we will definitely be back because we had such an enjoyable time. I love painting and being creative so it was a perfect activity for us to do together. It was also very peaceful and zen once we got into painting our pieces and we really appreciate the music playlist they had going. The workers were helpful in explaining what each different kind of glaze would do and we had fun picking out our pieces and paint colors. There are tons of options of ceramic pieces to paint and personalize. I loved the artistic vibes of the place and can't wait to see my finished work and come back to do another one in the future.

Had an amazing experience here! Affordable (items as low as $8, as of Dec. ‘23), with a HUGE selection of pottery to choose from! Dinnerware, animals, coin banks, ornaments, and more!

The vibe was great too! It was comfortable and casual.

Plenty of paint options, including fine tips to do detail work or writing with!

The best part is when you go to check out, you get a rewards card, and you get a box signed for each painted piece! Since I did (2) $8 pieces, I already have 2 boxes signed. Once I hit a certain amount, then I get $10 off, which is a whole item!

Lastly, convenience: this is directly across from the Prince St Parking Garage, and right next to Lancaster Cupcake, Central Market, etc. And their hours are amazing!!!!!

Perfect place to catch up with friends as you paint!♥ I was here several times and always had a wonderful experience. So relaxing!! Wonderful customer service as well... Also, be sure to stop at Rolled Cold just up the street for some ice cream!

We absolutely loved our time at the Pottery Works! The staff is super-friendly and knowledgeable! They have a lovely and diverse selection of pottery items as well as paints to choose from! And it is BYOB! We actually went in to try our hand at a simple Christmas ornament and came out with multiple ornaments and a whole tea-set! Definitely recommend for a fun artsy weekend with friends, family or kids!

First time here. Went closer to closing time. Due to our work schedule. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant and very accommodating we were able to finish painting our items. Lot of product to choose from. Detailed and organized. Highly recommend! Perfect date night.

This place is so fun! A group of friends & I had a girls night painting pottery. It was affordable and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. So many options to paint and the only thing you pay for is the pottery - no cost for time! Pick up is one week later. Parking is street or in a garage across the street. We will def be back - hopefully when Friday night canvas painting starts again!

From the day I was born, I was creative. Some would call me an Indigo Child. I never truly knew where people like myself belonged until I found The Pottery Works. I draw, I paint, I art. I bring all my wildest thoughts to fruition in this lovely byob safespace. Julie has become my muse, I incorporate her into all my pieces, whether it be her likeness or a strand of her hair. Highly recommend this place, especially on Wednesdays.

Thank you to The Pottery Works for hosting our cyber K-12 students for our fall Creative Ceramics sessions. Every seat in the studio was full and they were organized and prepared! They welcomed our large group with hospitality, showing kindness for each family attending with us. We are already looking forward to coming back next spring! 👏🏼

This is such a great place for family, friends, or a cute date! This was my first time here and I would definitely recommend! The inside is so warm and welcoming with smiling employees who are veryy helpful. I loved the interior and how everything is set up and placed (see photos). They do painting classes as well here. You pick out your ceramic piece that you would like to paint (so many choices to choose from), you collect the paints you would like to use, paintbrushes, stencils, and more to create your perfect designed ceramic piece. You paint it at your table and once you are done with your pieces, they place your piece in the ceramic kiln to be finished. You pick up your piece in about a week and you see your finished masterpiece! I went with my sisters to celebrate a birthday and it was byob! I loved how my piece came out and I look forward to doing it again someday when I’m in the area! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

My daughter and I have been here a few times over the last several months! We love it and love creating. Staff is super friendly and helpful as well!

We had the BEST time at Pottery Works! There are so many pieces to choose from, the staff is absolutely wonderful, you can BYOB, and it's an amazing vibe inside. We are so excited to come back in the future and paint more pieces!

We just absolutely love coming here. It's the highlight of our visits to Lancaster. We enjoy spending several hours meticulously painting our items and the staff is always friendly, helpful, and very careful with our pieces.

They even accommodated our special request to have our pieces done a few days before the expected date so we could pick them up before we left.

I literally can't wait to come back next year!
