I recently attended the 4 day class, not knowing what to expect. Was I surprised! Usually, I get some boring instructor, but not Rich. This guy is COOL and a wealth of knowledge. Absolutely enjoyed the class and instruction. The majority of the class is hands-on. Loved the way I was allowed to make mistakes, learn what I did wrong, and how to correct. Haven't done a lot of powdercoating. However, came out of this class feeling confident and like a seasoned professional. WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY SPENT! (Even though I didn't get to go in the back) LOL. Also... Small class size is a plus, allowing for exceptional one on one instruction. Would highly recommend this course to all interested!

Just came back from the 4 day powder class and my level of comfort, appreciation, and application, is night and day. I was super nervous to even pick up a powder gun but at the end of the class, I was shooting like I had been doing it for years. Professor Rich is a wealth of knowledge and really took the time to answer every question I had.. and there were a lot ! I also enjoyed the way Rich ran the class as there was a lot theory and dialogue, then a ton of hands on experience. Absolutely will recommend the class to anyone interested in powder coating !

Took time to come take the 4 day in person class. Worth the time and money. I would highly recommend the class to anyone new to powder coating like I am, or I think even a seasoned vet would learn something from the more advanced techniques taught. I regret not bringing some of my employees to the class with me. Rich the instructor is laid back and very accommodating and easy to get along with and provides great knowledge and instruction. I would recommend to anyone.

Very very highly recommend taking a class here, not only can you basically powder whatever’s infront of you but it makes you feel at home and there’s no awkward moments.

My son and I attended the 4-day class. The instructor, anonymous Rich, delivered knowledge in a welcoming way. He has helped us not only learn more of the process but convinced us via ‘hands-on’ ways to improve what we currently do in our shop. We brought some sample tough parts to learn on and we got help on how to improve what we currently do. We loved the class and education we received. Of all the powder class choices we found … I feel we picked the best!!

I just did the two day training class and it was amazing. I now wish I would’ve stayed for the 4 day class. Richard was welcoming with knowledge. I was a nervous wreck beforehand scared to take the next steps in my business. I left more confident in my business plan and in my work .If you are thinking about doing a training course this is hands down the one to go to! This isn’t an infomercial type course that tries to push stuff onto you. This is a very hands on training course that’ll give you the information you need while providing the tools to show you how to improve your skills. Whether you are new to powder or are an experienced powder coater I believe everyone can walk away learning from this course.

Richard is a very talented instructor I took the two day course and was very pleased with the amount of knowledge I obtained from his course I highly recommend this course if you wanna get your foot in the door with powder coating and even if you feel you need a refresher

After 8 months of research of powder coat suppliers Powder Buy The Pound was the one. From the guidance & support from Adriane on choosing the right system for my needs to the supplies I’d need to get my system up and running. I chose to take the 2 day training as well. With one day of in class to the second being hands on applying powder. Richard’s knowledge of their systems that they build in house to the different powders & proper techniques for each individual application. There is no set recipe, you adjust as you go in the process with Richard’s knowledge and guidance showing you how to adjust to each variable to get the best results. I decided to take the drive from Florida to Tennessee to take the 4 day powder training class. I went in not knowing anything about powder coating other than the YouTube videos I’ve seen, but never having physical experience. The class was thorough and hands on. Day 1 was power points on what powder coating is and the equipment used as well as safeties. I was shown how to properly prep (clean, strip and sand blast) my parts, set up and use the powder coating gun system and its settings, as well as being shown different spraying methods like hot/cold flocking, dual colors, how to combat faraday areas, placing and removing vinyls and also curing the parts in the oven. I was able to bring in some small items to practice on, which I also thought was pretty cool.

From the moment I walked in, Rich made me feel comfortable and very welcomed.
He answered any question I threw at him and showed me the reasoning behind any flaws that may occur. I told him that I wanted to eventually open a small business doing powder coating and he embraced my idea and gave me tons of great information.

Overall, I highly recommend taking this course with Rich. He is very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. Made me feel like he knew me for years. But at the end of the course you will leave feeling confident and like a pro. And hopefully one day start your own powder coating business or simply take on a cool hobby in the future.

Me and my husband flew halfway across the US for Rich’s class and we were not disappointed. We are starting a business and he gave us the tools and advice to start our business from powder coating to pricing to business ideas and ways to improve our ideas. He made us laugh and there was never a dull falling asleep at your desk moments. I appreciate he let us take the reins and mess up instead of correcting us because we will do that. After it was done he showed us how to avoid it next time or fix it. Great class I 100% recommend if you want to start a successful business with real knowledge not from google and youtube

I learned so much in this class. Richard was great, easy to get along with and learn from. The class was small which was great because it made it very personal. I feel like I left there with wayyyyy more knowledge, and a few new friends. It is well worth the flight or drive from wherever you are!!

Richard was great at teaching me all the skills needed to successfully teach my students how to powder coat. This class is great and the small class size allows you tons of hands on experience!

Richard was absolutely awesome the entire time, he really shows you how to powder coat and shows you what will happen in real life situations. Super awesome class I really recommend taking this class is you want to learn or if you are starting a business.

We needed some custom gold powder, and the sales associate gave us several options to get the specific gloss the customer wanted. They were happy to answer any questions we had and made the process so easy. Powder arrived quickly and the customer was thrilled with how it turned out. Will definitely be using this company for any future custom colors.

Richard is the best instructor I’ve had for any class. Teaches you in a hands on way that makes you feel automatically comfortable with what you are doing. Not only is he great at teaching his subject but can also strike up some very fun conversations. Definitely recommend him and his course to everyone

I’ve been powder coating for about a year without an instructor. Richard is a great teacher and he helped me improve my skills and I gained confidence. The 4 day class was money well spent and I highly recommend attending his class if you want to learn to powder coat.

Had Richard as my instructor and not only did I have a good time and enjoyed the course but I left there with a whole new level of confidence going forward with powder coating.
He was very knowledgeable and took how ever long it took in order to explain the material.
Bummer I only had time for the 2 day course but very well may go back for more if schedule permits.
