I had the opportunity to work with a young girl at the Haverhill Rd branch today to cash in some bonds. It was a pleasure working with such a delightful, pleasant professional. This young girl is the model for what customer service is all about.

I have been with this bank for around 10 years now and I'm always very happy with my dealings with them. I don't go into the bank much but when I do I usually go to the Haverhill Road branch and everybody in there is just insanely friendly. I also have been working on some commercial projects with Aaron out of the market Street branch and he is incredibly helpful. Very happy customer.

Been banking with these folks for a decade plus now and they are always kind and courteous. They no longer do residential loans which is kind of a bummer, but we are still glad we can bank with them. Much better then the big chains.

If you are part of the population that is unwilling to join the 21st century and embrace technology, then you will likely really like this bank. They are really friendly and nice and their hours are great, its why I originally picked them.

But I dont need round the clock banking any longer. As most of the banking can be done online. They have actually came a long way in this respect as well.

Recently though they have backtracked. You can no longer send electronic payments to others from your bank account. They literally send a check. In an unmarked envelope that looks like a bill someone would just throw away. This is the third time I have been sorely inconvenienced by this lack of technology.

After tens of years of using, and recommending them, I think I have to move on. If you have embraced the 21st century, or intend to in the near future, then look somewhere else for your banking needs.

If you don't mind paying 5 bucks a month in maintenance fees than this bank is for you.

I recently called and made a general inquiry about a transaction. Upon calling, the bank rep did not verify my personal info or my bank account info. Instead she interpreted my question as a fraud claim and said she was required to turn off my debit card. I made no formal fraud complaint, mentioned no specific transaction, and did not confirm which account I was referring to. After the mere inquiry, the teller used my CALLER ID to look up my account and subsequently assumed which ACH I could have referred to (still no amount or vendor was even discussed) and deactivated my credit card after I explicitly asked not to as I was away and there was no fraud issue. The card was not lost, stolen or compromised. Later that day, after attempting to use my card, it was turned off. Kate’s manager was unapologetic, but in the end, the card was turned back on after an exhaustive explanation. Thank you to her manager.

In summary, this was one of the worst member experiences I’ve ever experienced - anywhere - not just from a local bank. Thank you Provident Bank of Amesbury for 20 years.

As a business owner, I never writer negative reviews, for I know how damaging they can be to a business, but this is a very specific case, thus I have decided to spend the effort to express my disappointment and hopefully help someone else avoid the same.

I was approached by Sandra E. as VP of business banking in the intention of gaining my business. Not too deep into the interaction, I found myself deeply disheartened by the lack of attention to customer needs. My experience, rather than being one of satisfaction and support, unfolded as a testament to neglect and disregard.

As a representative of Bank Prov, Sandra stated the institution would be the perfect fit for all my business needs. So, I presented her a pressing matter in which had a due date that the documentation needed to be completed by. I was met with a void of responsiveness that bordered on indifference or even negligence. Despite multiple attempts to reach out through various channels, all was fruitless.

The dearth of assistance left me feeling utterly disheartened, devoid of the support that is not only expected but is the cornerstone of any reputable establishment such as a bank. It is disconcerting to encounter a company that appears to prioritize its own convenience over the needs of its customers, failing to recognize that without their patronage, its very existence is rendered meaningless.

Furthermore, the lack of customer service not only tarnishes the reputation of Bank Prov but also undermines the trust and confidence of potential patrons.

In conclusion, I hope my experience with Sandra E. at Bank Prov serves as a cautionary tale against the perilous consequences of neglecting the crucial aspect of customer service. It is my sincere hope that they recognize the error of their ways and take the necessary steps to rectify this deficiency, thereby restoring faith in their commitment to serving the needs of their clientele. Until then, I am left with no choice but to caution others against entrusting this institution for any banking needs.
