The Country Cottage

I loved exploring this little shop, my daughter (2) asked to go in when she smelled the wonderful fragrances as we were walking by. We enjoyed a quick chat with the shopkeeper and ended up purchasing raspberry and blackberry jams (my favorite and my daughters favorite berries respectively). They did not disappoint! So good, I can’t wait to stop by again, though next time I might need to grab a jar of pickles!

The Best Pickles!!! A storm caused us to change our plans and we couldn't stay long enough for this shop to be open. I asked if there was another location to purchase, and she said..."I will be making more products tomorrow. Here's my # let me know when you can stop by." This is a whole new level of customer service. We happily picked up our pickles, salsa, dry rub, and blueberry jam! This is a MUST STOP in Jim Thorpe! Thank You!!!

"Blue ribbon" pickles definitely worthy of the name. We stock up on these whenever we go to Jim Thorpe...they are our absolute favorite. The whole store is great, but don't leave without some pickles!

They make the best pickles ever. Not even kidding. I make the hour-long trip to Jim Thorpe just for Country Cottage homemade dill pickles because now all other pickles seem bland. These are always crisp and garlicy. I ate some just now and remembered I needed to write a review, even if it means sharing the best pickles ever with the world. Enjoy.

Always a great experience and worth the 2 hour drive to get pickles. While the owner was on a much deserved vacation, she was responding on the Facebook page to send me to buy her pickles at a B&B a couple doors down.

While this store sells great gifts, pottery, candles and more, the real treasure is back by the register. It’s a wall of pickles. Packaged in Ball jars with a paper tag held on by twine, these are some of the best homemade pickles you’ll ever taste. Besides delicious dills, there are spicy pickles, pickled green beans, garlic, asparagus, salsas and more. Now you understand why the sign out front says “Home of the Blue Ribbon Pickle.” The very friendly owner (locally known simply as “The Pickle Lady” makes all of these the pickles herself. When I was in this area a few years ago, I found myself lugging a heavy bag of pickle jars around with me. This visit was no different. Even in subzero temperatures, it was worth it! It’s hard not to buy one of everything. For those who don’t want to carry many jars of pickles up and down the hills of Jim Thorpe, she told me she also ships. I hope to take her up on that offer. I just wish she had a website instead of having to call.

This shop is the best kept secret in Jim Thorpe. Excellent homemade salsa, pickles, jams. Cute gifts and much more.

Must buy is her pickle salsa. Not too hot on your tounge, but will make your scalp sweat. It's to die for.

Purchased one jar of the dill pickles and one jar of blackberry jam just to see what the fuss was about. Our reaction was...as soon as we returned home, all but two pickle slices were left in the jar. The blackberry jam on our bagels the following morning was a slice of heaven.

Please visit these folks or give them a holler to ship you some really tasty jam and pickles that will make your day.

Very cute store with great stuff. Owners are very very nice people but the highlight are the best freaking pickes I've ever tasted. If you're in Jim Thorpe this store is an absolute must visit.

The best customer service i have had in years.
I needed to replace a sugar bowl because of cracked lid. Was willing to buy a new one. When i spoke to the store they found a lid are sending me just the new lid i needed and sent it for free.
I am amazed and will definitely return to shop at country cottage again

Besides the wonderful service the bread & butter pickles are absolutely the best. Better than the store bought and the strawberry jam amazing. You must get to this store if you are in Jim Thorpe

Super cute little shop with lots of different unique gifts and decor. I love the mosleylane candles they sell. Particularly the blonde barista! Usually have to take a trip to jim thorpe just to pick up a new candle when mine runs out!
